- Well guys, we didn't get to race because of the weather. But I PROVE that 4.10s and 3.31's don't matter when running the 1/8th mile.

I'm running a c4 from transmission specialties using 3.55s I was running out of rpm in the quarter at 7500 rpm running 10.79s, switched to 3.31s and so far 10.50s is my fastest
Im kind of jealous you got to hang out with neo mustangs lol i bet that dude is a riot to talk to.. you and him have the most informative videos i can relate to. And i was about to swap the 3.55s back into my car but after your video ill stick with the 4.10s because i do race 8th mile the most.

On my '91 Mustang Notchback I run 3.27...my setup is a 427ci Windsor with a Procharger F1A-94 and a G force 6 speed transmission and those 3.27 are perfect
Our darts ET is very similar to your car . We use a 50 HP shot of nitrous for half a second to spool up. We don't have a trans brake so it helps the turbo spool faster. Our best 60 ft is 1.47
The rain did put a hamper on things but we all made the best of it , try it again next year .

That's cool man, you got to hangout with everyone out there and even though you didn't get to race you probably had just as much fun and your wife got some much needed zzz's in as well 😂 I ran across a pic of you in gearheads car looking at another camera i guess with Gearhead704 sitting on the rear of the car. But the car is most definitely a powerhouse and it is not far from meeting your goal with some tweeking and I think that you are the first one to get a video out

So, on 1/4 mile with turbo, lower rear gear ratio (lower numerical numbers or tall gears) is better for ET and MPH. How about comparison to 3.73 for 1/8 and 1/4 miles, compared to say 3.42? Would there be a big difference and which one would you choose?
I understand that more power the engine is, the lower rear ratio number that is needed to avoid hitting the rev limiter way before crossing the finish line.
Depends what rpm the engine can turn. If my car could turn 8000 rpm I’d run 3.73 all day. It only turns to about 6000 so it needs a taller gear to get out to the 1/4 mile.
For a setup like my car I would go 3.42

All depends on build, how much whp and for what you want your car roll racing or drag racing.. my turbo sierra for roll racing only and 4.10 works really good rolling 60-70mph 4th gear which is 1.15 gear ratio but now i will turning it up from 12-13psi to 20psi it should puts around 1k whp and i need to switch gears to 3.55 or 3.42
🙄 golly. I salute you good sir as I put out half that 😆 at 9 psi. 500whp 600tq 4.6 on fully forged internals and lower compression
Do you have the holly terminator x on that fox I know it’s of topic but you talked about boost control turning up a click I ordered the terminator trying to figure out how to control boost with out running co2 so curious how you are running your boost control
I have the manual boost controller with the holley but am 100% going to order some mac valves and run it off the holley in the near future
@@RegularGuyGarage so you are able to run a boost controller with the holly I was under the impression that was not a possibility I thought I was stuck running mac valves and alternative air....I was thinking using the 2 mac valves and using turbo to supply them just putting a tee before gate to macs but if I am able to just run a regular boost controller that seems to be cheaper on me that I have all ready this is my first turbo car learning as I go where I live in southern Oregon we do not have any speed shops locally well any I know of that are worth going to
I got a turbo hemi ram on a th400 4.10 gears its kind of a street/track truck but on roll racing my top end is bad but track runs go hard you recommended staying the same or you think going lower would help even better on both sides
