I have an 2008 crown vic police with a 3:27 limited slip rear with 4 speed trans and i want to upgrade a little for a little faster take off what gear do you recommend?
@ryanthorpe7403 depends on the transmission ratios, power level, max rpm, racing distance, weight, tire size, and if you want it geared just for racing or an in between of street and racing etc.
Yes sir that's definitely true. This is a temporary goal for me, though, then I'll be back to 1/8 mile racing with the 4.11 gear. And the 1.80 would be too aggressive for that. So I'm going to try to just make it work. That way I don't have to swap gears in the transmission twice. I'm pretty confident it can still do it. Just going to require a bit more aggressive tune up to get it moving the way it needs to early.

I live in north central Texas and would be happy to take it anywhere within about 5 hours. I’m looking for a custom tune from someone who can make power and keep it together. I have over 10k tied up in just the short block so the last thing I want is some knucklehead beating the rods out of it with a bad tune.

What does that mean stock block LS? Just block with diff internals ?
@ssswdon it's just a production gm block. It had sleeves and aftermarket internals though.
My takeaway from this is that a 1.8 first gear set would get you much closer to your old 4.11 gears torque at the wheels .
