      So many vegans go to Costa Rica or Hawaii, can you find any other non-tropical fruits there such as berries? grapes? apples? nectarines? those are all my favorites, also watermelon? Do you eat tofu or tempeh?

    • @JustForMe2908
      @JustForMe2908 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      grapegirl I'm from Costa Rica, there are tons of fruits, and they're so affordable, apples are available the whole year, berries too, nectarines are just when it's their season, also peaches. But generally there's always fruit😍

    What I eat: I use to eat basically exactly like you guys. I recently went raw vegan and I mostly eat fruit. I realized eating foods higher in water content really aligns my mind and body. I feel more balanced, awake, and energized as I am consuming high electrical foods. Hawaii is where I live but I hope to travel to Costa Rica and South-Eastern Asia following the tropical fruit and beaches.

      I want to find a way to live in Hawaii. I feel like my spirit wishes to be there. I've lived a life in which I overly stress and get consumed by things that are not important. I'm looking more into fruit based diet

      You can do it ! It takes your determination to make it happen :) Eating fruit based is also so easy here on the big island. But no doubt, you can easily make money under the table if you need. All you need to worry about is finding a way down here, and the island will take care of you. Everyone for the most part will open arms, so much opportunity out here. Just know you are worthy to be here, and there is a way so all you need is the will to make it reality :) Aloha, see you on the island !

      That's so interesting! Maybe it's because fruits and veggies contain mostly distilled water. I recently found out about the true value of distilled waters over mineral/tap water. It truly cleanses out your body like water is supposed to. On youtube there is a bunch of info about it, I liked to listen to Andrew Norton Weber's interviews. If your interest is peaked, have a google ;)

    I began the transition to a plant based diet about 10 days ago, and I am now obsessed! I feel amazing, and I can already see dramatic results! My question to you is this, do you eat all organic? I have been trying to buy only organic, but the local farm in my town does not grow organic. I am debating if locally grown is as safe as organic. Thank you lots :)

    We live in New Zealand, are vegan and tacos are life! Before we came back here, (my hubs is a Kiwi, I'm from the US) we lived in Mexico and you need to get the fresh corn tortillas if you are ever in MX or Central America!! You will see the people making them by hand somewhere in town, I would bet my life. Also, we bought a Bimbo football jersey when we lived in MX. You would look great in it! They are a legit sponsor for a MX football team.

      Microwaves aren't that bad for you, they actually heat and cook food quicker than usual and retain nutrients ~~ certainly no problem boiling water, and as long as you don't use plastic dishes you're OK.

      Veggies, fruit and starches such as rice, pasta and potatoes's are the main staple of a vegan diet which can all be quite cheap. It's usually the fake cheese and fake meat that are expensive.

    Wonderful video! My husband and I are vegan. One of our favorite things is stir fry using our own veggie stock made from our morning smoothie veggie clippings or any cooking clippings. Onion skins and all. We collect them in the freezer and then -In the crock pot, very easy. Then we freeze the stock. (Good for 3 months) Buttttt when we go camping! (Festivals) The frozen blocks of stock work as ice and making cooking over fire tasty and expansive! Soup and stir fry while camping?? Yes please . Xoxoxo 💚💚

    hey guys!! I really loved the video, but, well, just a little thing... it may sound a little rude to use the expression "less developed country" (about Costa Rica on the description). I'm from Brazil and can't avoid feeling kinda offensed when people refer to my place like that. Seems like prejudice, a bad lable that doesn't define from far the country's life. You could just say that veganism/ vegan options are not as popular in there. :) xxx

    • @anastasiakef5234
      @anastasiakef5234 8 ปีที่แล้ว +14

      You have a point there, but although it may sound rude it's actually true some times. For example, I live in Greece and you can barely find 3-4 vegan restaurants throughout the whole country :( A developed country should give citizens more options, plus when you find vegan products they're so unfairly expensive :(

    • @purseypurslane
      @purseypurslane 7 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      Maria -- 'less developed' is not an insult, it's a fact about less maintained roads, electricity that always goes on and off, doesn't stay on, questionable water quality, etc. All the things that make richer more modern countries run and yes, more expensive. No offense intended!

    • @cigall
      @cigall 7 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Costa Rica is in many ways more developed than the US. Its environmental protection and healthcare system are among the best in the world.

    Thanks for this video: I hope it is an inspiration for many, as it is sometimes overwhelming to change eating habits! As a vegan, when traveling, I like to carry a small bag of nutritional yeast and blend it with cashews or sesame and little salt: it yields an amazing vegan parmesan packed with B12 vitamin, which is not easily found in a vegan diet. I sprinkle it on pasta, tacos, rice, steamed veggies and the taste is great!

    a great vegan lunch I make is Lemon Cranberry Quinoa inspired by whole foods:
    Cook any color (red, white, or mixed) quinoa & then add a good amount of lemon, coriander, cumin, and a touch of paprika, salt & pepper. Stir, and then add small squares of red peppers, green onion, cilantro, and cranberries. Add more lemon as desired & enjoy as a warm dish or cool salad :) super simple, super vegan, super tasty

    • @bohobeautiful
      @bohobeautiful  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      thank you so much love! Yes that tree house was something for sure...we're sad we had to leave it :(. As for potion sizes, we don't have a set rule or size. Something that will satisfy your stomach but not leave you feeling heavy. Eat as many veggies as you can take, for rice or anything like that usually i'll eat about 2-3 full handfuls. and again everything in moderation. If i have bread with dinner, i'll have a piece maybe 2 max...same goes with any fake meats products. Like we said we eat it more as a treat than anything as it large quantities its still not the best for you as it is processed. So have a 1 veggie burger patty maybe or a handful of TVP. Hope this helps!

    Hey I love you both..I adore your videos..But, I hope in the future you´ll use less packed and canned food-cook your own lentils or beans..I am vegan long time,and during the summer I try to be on full raw diet,which I find the most powerful..Markus Rothkranz helped me to make that transition with his videos and Annette Larkins..My favorite thing from raw food diet is pesto,actually all kinds of pestos..you can use basil or coriander,rucola add it in the blender with garlic cashew nuts ,olive oil,lemon juice and bit of salt..best thing ever..you can do it herbs and avocado pesto as well..All love for two of you,from Lagos- Portugal

    I'm at the vegetarian stage at the moment and incorporating vegan meals. I worry that I will have a "rushed" day and I will have to buy something quickly from the shop so buying a cheese pasta salad or an egg sandwich is easy but finding a vegan alternative is difficult (in the UK) and my first thought is to buy and eat a whole packet of Oreos (vegan yumminess). Any quick, "I forgot my nourishing meal" ideas would be greatly appreciated! Xx

    I eat like 800 calories a day and i've only lost like 6-8 pounds in 3 months... (and its healthy food, but i do have a cheat day once a week)
    Idk if i should increase my calories or not because I remember trying 1200 and I gained weight.
    I used to eat 1600 and gained weight despite not growing (which is why I started my diet)
    I seriously don't know what to do.

    Love the video and ALL your videos! Quick tip on the magic bullet because I too have gone through a couple. I learned it last a life time longer if you do not plug it in before mixing. Here is what I mean. If you secure/tighten the blade to the cup, then fasten the the cup to the motor part THEN plug it, let it complete in mixing, THEN unplug, THEN detach the cup/blade from motor Then twist the blade off the cup and drink. Hope this makes sense. The magic bullet last longer because you are not striping that rubber piece on the motor part every time you fasten that blade/cup onto it while plugged in. It spin too quickly and over time wears out the plastic/rubber parts. Lots of Love to you both!

    GUYS!!! I have to say, that bread not is vegan! i'm sure, i am from central america(El Salvador), and i know that bread, it has eggs and milk. The mark is Bimbo is a really bad company of bread, they use egg and milk for all your breads, and also honey. pd. i'm vegan.

    Great video. Gave me some great ideas! I'm not vegan, but I eat scrambled spinach and eggs like almost every morning and I'll usually throw in some tomatoes too. I love avocados!!! I swear I eat one almost every day. I've put almond butter and at other times avocadoes in my smoothies before too, it makes it creamy and wonderful. I never thought of putting coffee in there. I use a Love & Peas vanilla protein powder. It's plant based and amazing. I also eat edamame for a snack because it's super easy. Thanks for the great tips! I will try some of these ideas!

    I love Bimbos here in Brazil! ahahuaahhhauah..Thanks for the post! I'm not a vegetarian, but it gave me lots of ideias how to reduce meat. I used to eat a lot of soy meat...but I'm avoiding know because the development of soy plantations are a major reason that forests are being devastated, also I saw a video showing how dangerous soy milk is for children's health because they affect the hormones...but I don't know if it's the same for soy meat! kisses!

Never had these when i was plant based, craved broccoli and such!! Now i have to turn the bf at least vegetarian lol ;)

    chick peas are my favorite filling food! they can make creamy hummus, fake tuna salad or crunchy falafels yummmm !!! raw hemp seeds are great for complete protein and omega fats. by the way guys if you eat too often everyday and don't give your mouth enough time to produce alkaline saliva you will have a chronic acidic mouth which results in gum disease and many other mouth issues after a while (even if the food you eat is "alkaline"). brushing teeth after each meal won't reduce this problem (btw salty water mouth rinse or oil pulling are a must after brushing). i know it's tempting to snack throughout the day but we are not made to do that. i've tried every style of eating and the most time/energy/health efficient way is only one (big) meal a day. the problem most people have with this is they panic as soon as their energy level is not sky high but if you understand how the body can produce all the energy it needs from carb and fat stored in the liver and muscles and are patient you can live normally on only one meal per day without snacks. it takes a while to change life long habits but it's so worth it, once you're used to it you don't think about it anymore and you'll be very happy to have all the free time you get from not preparing so much food so often and washing a lot of dishes. thank you for being vegan =)

    Thank u for sharing ur recipes,but as a vegan,I'm not recommend to take garlic and onion because the purpose of them are to kill bacterias in our stomach,but because we do not eat meat,it will slowly damaged our internal organ...my many Indian friends whom always eat garlic and onion get gastric even stomach bleeding and turn out to be eating meat again...myself already vegan for 6 years without onion and garlic....I'm just share this with you,not forcing u to not eat them....u r a lovely person,that's why I want to share with u...love u!

    omg, that's a lot of fast food there..have you ever bought fresh raw cheekpeas, beans, green beans, lentils and cook it yourself or making your own pancake and wraps..the freshness and taste does not compare..everything appears from dreadful single use plastic bags or cans in your food...and those synthetic veggie protein shit that you substitute meat with, totaly against that kind of stuff...might as well eat some really lean meat then. seems like we eat so much better where I come from :) vegan, vegetarian or not, you name it.

    i have another recipe for the "fake meat" .
    Add spices (cumin indeed :) paprika and lots of pepper ),
    then put the whole thingin the water ,add tamari sauce (it is a kind of soy sauce ) . Let them soften.
    Cut a LOOOOT of oignon, make them fried until they get golden, then add the fake meat with a lil bit of the water and let it cook for 10 min .
    The soy sauce, the oignon and the pepper really add a nice taste :)

    I want to become vegetarian but with the way my mom cooks it's really not possible at this stage in my life. Though my best friend is vegetarian so when I'm staying with my dad we love to experiment with cooking different vegan meals! I have to say that my favorite dinner we ever did together was when we baked sweet potatoes in the oven and made corn on the cob! It was delicious, especially with a little bit of brown sugar and a lot of cinnamon on the sweet potatoes. We also really like to stir fry vegetables and eat them with rice. Avocado toast was definitely a staple as our lunch. Thank you so much for the ideas! More food videos please :)

    TVP, Yikes. I ate that when I was a vegetarian along with other meat substitutes and it caused me to have some health issues. TVP is highly processed soy. sure it tastes good but my body couldn't deal with it. I eventually had to go back to animal protein I think a plant-based diet is great . However, you really need to watch out for the meat-substitutes. I try and eat a plant-based diet with a little good sourced animal protein in there. Processed food is difficult for the body to deal with.

      not in my situation. My body literally stopped digesting carbs at the time. I lost weight and was in pain. Beans and lentils were among the carbs hurting my body. Now I can eat them in once in awhile, but to often is not good for me.

    • @pepsicolla123
      @pepsicolla123 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      wow, never heard of this illness. maybe your body doesn't tolerate gluten?

    • @olyamandala
      @olyamandala 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      My body just became to acidic and couldn't handle carbs anymore. I had to go on a strict diet of very minimal carbs, lots of low carb veggies and introduce fish and eventually other animal protein. All the mainstream western doctors I saw didn't understand what was happening with me, but one wellness practitioner got it. This is what helped me. I remember asking him about all the people who eat rice and beans for their main source of protein and he responded many of them have digestive issues as well. And though, I wanted to be a vegetarian because of the horrors of factory farming and the environment, I have always craved meat. I was a vegetarian for 10 years. Sometimes, you just have to listen to your body. I can now eat carbs but I do feel best with some animal protein. Everyone is different. However, super processed food for anyone, like tvp, is not good. in small amounts probably ok.

    • @pepsicolla123
      @pepsicolla123 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      that's great if it's working for you. my body is completely different - once when I was in high school I tried cutting out all the sugar from my diet and I was feeling really bad, with no energy,which means my body craves carbs. and right now I am trying to eat more carbs and reduce my animal products intake, because I wanna become a vegan. so I am feeling more energy than before :)
