    If magazines today still had quality and class like these I would probably buy them. Now they are mostly just ad after ad, and very little good readable content. Also feel like magazines now are all about sex and over sexualization of women in their ads and content. So sad that they think that’s what most young women want to see and read. Lovely video btw.

      If I could recommend reminisce magazine and reminisce extra magazine they’re wonderful. People write in with stories about the past and they usually include a photo. Also closer magazine is very good as well.📖

    Yes, you can still buy Delmonte catsup. It's just a sweeter form of Ketchup. I prefer Heinz ketchup, but I know some people do like catsup, and it's found in the same isle as ketchup at the grocery store. I'm in Ohio, I'm not sure if it's in your area. I really loved seeing the old magazines, what a treat.

    I've collected vintage teens', womens', and fashion magazines since I was 14. I'm obsessed with the way they look and their content! I have the first Seventeen magazine. Not what it used to be. Now it's all about sex. Sad.

      sexual behavior is more and more promoted now on the internet with people encouraging young girls to sell pictures of their naked bodies online or becoming a stripper. Ive seen countless times "girl go get ur money $$$" or "goals omg I need to do this" just because they make potentially more money than if you were a nurse or teacher, but we need to teach girls that oversexualizing themselves is making it harder and harder for women to be taken seriously. By no means is being sexual as a woman a bad thing, it should be celebrated but I don't understand how promoting being a porn star does any good for women internationally. It's just so sad, elegance and class seem to be gone now

      Laura Jane Atelier for my 14th birthday my friend got me a 17 magazine and it was all about one direction and like..all these weird diet trends. It was really toxic and to be honest the design was hideous 😂

    • @maryclark1049
      @maryclark1049 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@oldhollywoodangels I agree women should be free to enjoy sex. But promoting promiscuity to teens and even younger is a big part of why girls are taken advantage of and pregnant before they even graduate or in some cases even make it to high school. The media promotes it as do schools and entertainment. They promote loose morals to kids then wonder why so many get pregnant. It's like, DUH.

    The August 1955 Seventeen Magazine has a teen on the front dressed so classy for a teen magazine. Today, there would be body parts unfortunately hanging out and stories about things that teens really shouldn't be talking about. What happened to class and dignity? I am no prude by any sense of the word, but in today's world, nothing is left to the imagination anymore. This is a great collection of magazines showing a time gone by, the likes of which we will never see again.

    If you watch some of the colgate martin and lewis shows you will get to see some great commercials.
