My mom bought Avon in the 70s. I remember having these little pins one was a scarecrow that had perfume that was kind of like a waxy feel to it and a Bobbin Robin pin.☺️
When I was growing up in the 70s my mom’s best friend was an Avon lady so I have used a lot of these products. I used to love the Hawaiian White Ginger and Sweet Honesty I remember when that came out. 🌸🌿

I miss those days. I remember when my mother and I would order some of those items from Avon. Especially the"Skin So Soft " (SSS) products. This takes me back, I can still smell it. Nice... 😊
Skin So Soft smells yucky..that's why it keeps the mosquitos away..😂😂

That was a golden era for Avon!
I remember the Avon lady coming to the house. Her name was Gloria. All the goodies that she unloaded out of her bag. My mom always gave me the lipstick samples as I got older. I love the Sweet Honesty perfume.
My Aunt was an Avon lady. Loved the samples and the packaging was gorgeous.
Sometimes I dream I can get things out of pics. They become 3d. This night I dreamt I plucked a lipstick out of an ad :)
I imagine I'm so rich I can buy everything I see in the magazine 😄

Oh yes this my favorite era of Avon. I wanted every item on every page. Love love when the colognes had such distinctive packaging. The eye shadow compact with the greens yes ma'am. I'm ready to place my order miss Laura!!!

💖 the video. I have fond memories of my mother's Avon lady. She would come by our home on Saturdays. Avon was a big part of my life. Birthday and Christmas gifts would include jewelry and teenage products.

Avon has some memorable bottles at that time. My stateside relatives gifted my grandmother and grandfather Avon perfumes. I tried to pick off the gem on the top of the Topaze skin softener cap. >.
I loved my mom's charisma and I bought bird of paradise along with pretty peach who I think too faced pinched the idea!

As a teenager I loved the Too Faced peach smelling perfume.
Didn’t know they were inspired by Avon brand.
I wish they still sold the skin softeners. This reminds me of being a pre-teen in 1970 and sitting with my mom and the Avon lady in our living room and she would lay out her samples on the coffee table. I loved the old Topaz perfume bottle. Thank you for the trip down memory lane.
Avon still sells perfumed skin softener. There are several available including these older Avon scents: Topaz, Timeless, Odyssey, Candid and Sweet Honesty.
Any chance you could do a history of Hawaiian White Ginger perfume? I love this scent but hard to find now.
What were the scents notes? What did it smell like?

I recall my mother's Avon Lady calling around and demonstrating the latest products in the early Seventies. I remember her powder blue pencil skirt, high heels and slightly butterfly wing glasses. Trimly stylish.

Where do you get all of these wonderful products?! I love Cotillion and Topaze, I wish they would bring them back. The new Avon products just aren't that great in my opinion.
I wish Avon was the same now as it was back then. I think it’s disappointing now.

Loved the vintage packaging! I wish they would bring Topaz back, that was from the 1950s.
Topaze is currently available, limited , I ordered 3 bottles. Unfortunately it's in a plain glass bottle, like they do the classics. Would have been great if they used retro packaging.
My mum had Avon, seeing the Occur in the book, brought it back to me.
I loved the Occur! when I was little...the dot on the exclamation point was a diamond. 😊

The prices were so great I know people made less in 1970 and all the bottles and packaging was so pretty
Unfortunately they change Rich Moisture cream formula and scent . It was my favourite and the kid fragrance Blue Lotus doesn’t exist anymore :(
The prices back then were crazy ! 3 dollars for an Avon perfume??? They are more expensive now
I wasn’t sure but it looked like the Charlie Brown might’ve been a soap holder? I had one from Avon called Andy Pandy & it was a panda that would hold your soap and float on the top of the water in your tub.🛁

Since the pandemic - my Avon lady at work now works at home and unlike the convince of looking at the catalog at break time- I don’t have that luxury snd my Avon lady doesn’t sell on line 😐

1 minute in and I’m jumping straight on eBay! I love beauty/cosmetic paper ads and vintage magazines. I have a lot of magazines from that era like movie ones, Vogue and ahem, adult oriented ones. Lockdown was a weird time, don’t judge! I would love to make a collage from them but wouldn’t be able to bring myself to cut them. Fascinating time capsules 💄💅
My favourite Avon compact perfume was Topazio.

The Charisma cologne is still available in Mexico 🇲🇽 and in some other Latin American countries under the name of Charm. Topaze cologne is available in Avon USA 🇺🇸
This brought back so many memories for me. Both my mum and my sister were Avon ladies...the packaging was really unique back then. You knew a product automatically purely from its packaging design. I always loved the smell of Avon products. Even the basic moisturisers had a really unique scent And Pomanders.....they were really collectable. And for years every christmas Avon had its own unique Barbie Doll only available via Avon.
