I would raise you and say that the SA-X from fusion is the the best antagonist due to the fact that it is Samus at her strongest which scares her and when she learns that it is multiplying then she automatically knows it's a threat to the universe and needs to be destroyed by any means.
@Ironeagle 777 Highly doubtful that would happen. Dark Samus is originally a Metroid. The central lore point of Metroid Fusion is that Metroids are the natural predators of X-Parasites. It's the entire reason that Samus is given Metroid DNA in the first place. In fact the SA-X attacks an Omega Metroid at the end of Fusion, and gets completely wiped out by it so...
@@TheRestlessView Metroid Fusion definitely best captured the element of "fear." For the first time, a Metroidvania actually felt *creepy* between the music and atmosphere and horribly mutated enemies (hello, *literal* Nightmare). When SA-X appeared... you always knew it meant bad news. 👽👾😳

Reading again the description of Dark Samus... Basically it was a race. Samus is like 90% corrupted by phazon and Dark Samus is made by phazon but HIGHLY UNSTABLE and can be disrupted by own Phazon based attacks... So both the hero and the villain are in the same situation with the same "weapon". Samus had to defeat Dark Samus before get 100% corrupted by phazon. And Dark Samus had to beat Samus before she disrupted her phazon based form to 100%
"As she dies in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, the camera pans to Dark Samus' raised left fist. She opens it quickly, mirroring the scene of her "birth" in the ending of Metroid Prime where her open hand clenches into a fist. After her death, the scene cuts to the bubbling Phazon seed within Samus disappearing, completing the imagery of the festering pool of Phazon that Dark Samus was derived from."
I wish dark Samus got to use some of these moves in smash instead of being an echo fighter of Samus, but oh well, we got her in the game, and I am HYPED! Also just wanted to point out that dark Samus is referred to as an echo fighter of Samus in smash. And in Metroid prime 3 dark Samus uses Echo clones. I just found this funny how it sounds so similar.
That's probably where Sakurai got the term from lol. Oh and btw Dark Samus has a regular roll instead of the morph ball which already makes it so much better than regular Samus because the morph ball is slow. And Dark Samus' bombs send her more horizontally, possibly improving recovery and making the bomb actually useful lol.
Cosmo 99 Also Dark Samus’ Dash Attack appears to combo better than Samus’ and so does her Down throw, because it does less knockback allowing for combos like down throw Up smash, which we saw in the reveal, but likely down throw Fair, Nair, and Bair.
Her final smash should've been the twin laser thing. They obliterate everything across the screen unless you're in the very center where you'd be safe. ;P
@@Raptorman0205 I have a feeling the developers went wild with this boss. It is very chaotic and wacky. Playing on hypermode difficulty just makes even worse (in a good way). By the end of the fight you feel like you've drained all of phaaze's phazon fighting dark Samus.
Very likely the most powerful villain Samus has ever faced, and far from just because she was Samus' physical equal. This thing made Ridley and the Space Pirates worship her like a god, she could reform herself even when her whole body was pulverized, and in the end it required Samus to be in permanent hyper mode and one of the longest boss fights in the series' history to take her down, and even then they had to make sure to blow up an entire planet serving as her power source to end her for good. If Dark Samus STILL somehow survived all this to return in Prime 4, she's straight up one of the most terrifying villains in all of Nintendo.
I really hope they don't bring her back though. There's no real way to have it make sense, as all the source Phazon in the universe is gone. If its a secret boss or a fun easter egg I think it could work, but I hope they use a different avenue.
I agree that it would be rather difficult to bring her back in a good way, but the problem then arises in what the story of Prime 4 will be instead. Prime 3's 100% ending and Federation Force is painting up Sylux as the next big bad, but will he alone be enough to carry the story of one of the most anticipated Nintendo games ever? People's expectations are sky-high for Prime 4, and if all we get is some petty revenge story between Samus and Sylux without any ties whatsoever to phazon or Dark Samus, it will be a massive disappointment.
Sylux is shaping up to be a pretty cool bad guy , especially if you look at his tech which seems to be based on metroids , he could have been the federations attempt at a Dark Samus of sorts gone wrong . Plus if phazon is still alive in any form in the next prime there could be a return of dark samus through his body(since she's known for possessing people).
@@irontarkus6955 but wouldn't SA-X be completely the same in move wise except for her eyes, and well possible her mutated form? I mean I think Dark Samus is a better echo fighter choice for me than SA-X in my opinion.
One of the things the prime games have always excelled at has been final boss battles. The over-the-top gameplay combined with the music and settings is always super cool. It legit rivals Dark Souls in terms of boss battles.

the front flip samus does at the beginning is so badass, along with the splitting of dark samus. The final form of the PED suit will always be my favorite suit
Dark Samus is surprisingly amazing.when you look for a goal she has had in all the games you notice two things . The first goal of hers is a motherly sort of love , a want to defend the metroids , this appears in every game , but gets twisted in prime 3 when her insanity is at it's highest. Her second goal was to become stronger , this is shown in Metroid Prime when she steals Samus's suit, prime two when she sponges phazon to the point of falling apart, and prime three when she upped her goal and decided to attach herself to Phaze and gain near godly abilitys. So if Dark Samus had a personality , it would be a power/god complex kinda villain, like Dio Brando who just wants to be stronger than Jojo.
another weird thing is the husk in the genesis chamber , the metroid fandom still doesn't know why they were there , but one cool explanation is that there are essentially multiple dark samus's . like the wraiths found possessing the hunters , or dark samus's echoes etc.
Dapper Dhampir hopefully it'll be Samus but good. It looks like she has a regular roll instead of Samus's slow ass morph ball roll so that's already a huge improvement lol
Dude I've known what she's about. I'm only here because its been a while and after seeing the smash trailer I couldn't remember if Dark Samus ever used the morph ball in this game. Spoiler she does but not that much really.
It's interesting to note, that Samus' descent into the depths of Planet Phaaze was almost a sacrificial point of no return. Although, one could also see this as her saying to herself "I'm AM Samus Aran afterall...and if I don't take care of this, no one will (or can rather)" This is up for debate and interpretation, but it just add more depth to Samus as a protagonist and who she is as a person.

Thank you so much for this walkthrough! Wow, this MF was hard to kill. Each of it's 3 transformations require several steps to kill. I just barely it LOL I was about to die, and I got it with my last shots in the nick of time. Here are some of my tips that helped me out! 1. For Dark Samus (DS). You can actually interrupt DS, when you shoot a rocket at it--DS will stop and use it's spike shield instead. This is helpful when DS shoots its rapid fire, because that attack is really hard to dodge (note: kind of hard to do because rapid fire moves across the screen quickly). Doesn't always work. There's certain moves that DS will just execute without bothering to use spike shield. *I like to take out the DS twins as quickly as possible. It's easier to do when they're floating in air with that blue shield around them. They also leave health. *Do NOT go between DS twins, when they are horizontally shooting yellow laser. Why? You're more likely to be physically crashed into. It's best to stay outside their circle as a morph ball and use your electric attack. *Be sure constantly move around. ALWAYS ALWAYS move around the arena! This will help you to keep your yellow gauge empty. Try to keep track of where DS is, especially when it clones itself into 3. *As a general rule for all three bosses, shoot only when you have a clear shot--or a good chance of landing your attack. That way you keep that yellow gauge down. -->With all these tactics (including video's =) I left this battle with a tiny amount of my yellow gauge, sometimes I left with it completely empty. 2nd boss Aurora Unit 313.Tricky MF. *Don't shot that weird camera looking thing that pops out for a second. *For the purple tentacles. Shot the first one, then quickly move to the second and STAY there. When you see the yellow light in the 2nd tentacles place, shoot it! I've had more success damaging this bitch with that method. *Try NOT to stay in the area where you first start fighting this thing. It's an awkward space that gets you stuck. This purple laser is also dangerous and delivers lots of damage. ***ALWAYS keep an eye on the spine. It's strongest attack is it's purple laser. Spine will run electricity through itself and then shoots laser. As soon as you see the electricity in spine, turn into a morph ball and speed the F*ck out of there. It first shoots laser at the farthest end; I've been able to dodge by being a bit more closer to the monster (kind of hard to do LOL)There's also a pattern here in regards to the spine and its electricity. If it shoots laser, the next attack will be 3 white Samus clones. What I did was keep track--For ex, dodged laser, ok next attack, Samus triplets, alright next attack laser, ok next attack Samus triplets. Remember, both of these attacks preceded by electricity in the spinal cord LOL *Samus triplets. I locked on to one, and destroyed as fast as I could. Again, move around and dodge. Shoot only when you have a good shot to keep that yellow death meter down. I especially dodged when Samus clones turned into a morph ball; they are harder to hit in that form. Also, you don't need to kill all three. *After tearing head open, I like to shoot it's brain instead of firing missiles. LOL I caused more damage with the canon. *When it sinks its head into the ground to fire it's red blasts, can easily dodge attacks with boosting morph ball. I tried shooting these things, they don't leave anything behind. I found myself getting hit, when I tried shooting blasts. 3rd Aurora Unit-Head Final Form. *I tried NOT to stay under it as it was shooting yellow lasers, because the monster itself will just fall on you. It hate those damn lasers! I found it useful to shoot it while it was executing this attack. *While it's spinning around on the floor, you could paralyze it with a screw attack. Make sure it's across the room and you have a clear shot. Remember, jump, stay in the air for a bit, and then quickly tap B button. I couldn't get that damn move to work LOL Wow, I haven't fought a boss this annoying in a very long time
Dark Samus copies a lot of attacks from the other bounty hunters; Rundas's ice pillars and Spirit Bomb-style ice cube attack, Ghor's Plasma Beam and rapid spinning attacks, and Gandrayda's leap attacks and homing shots.
Tip: When Dark Samus and her Echo fires the Plasma Beam, go into Morph Ball. It can't hit you as you're significantly shorter. And if you're brave enough, Hyper Ball them. Just don't get too close.
After what she did to Samus, and the other 3 hunters, she throws herself 100% at samus. She gets torn in half. She merges wiht the aurora unit for mor epower. Torn in half again. She tries to use the AU one last time. she done splode.d
WiiManElite we don't know for sure if phazon is gone. The planet Phase samus went to might have been a normal planet until it got hit by the original (or maybe another corrupted planet). Also (I'm not sure about this though) there is still corrupted enemies and phazon pools are still on the planets previously visited (again, not sure).
oh yeah, when you scan AU 313 it says that it is symbiotically connected to phase suggesting that phase was a normal planet used by the GF but was abandoned (explaining how they let it corrupt and the distance and how the coordinates are found on an old GF vessel) so phazon could return BUT it might not IF phaze was indeed the first corrupted planet and sent some sort of pulse destroying all phazon in a large area.
+WiiManElite Indeed, plus SA-X has the ability of multiplying itself as you can see in Metroid Fusion. So, as you said, if X can be compatible with Phazon, it'll be difficult for Samus to destroy it.
ByoNemesis Well take it this way in fusion samus is mixed with metroid dna so she's just a hybrid correct? well dark samus is also a hybrid but with phazon added in because essentially she's basically samus mixed with metroid and phazon.
Can you believe I beat this final boss on the first try, unlike the other Metroid Prime games where it took multiple tries to beat the final boss? And no, the game was not on easy, it was on hard mode. Nevertheless this was a very fun Bossfight.
I've never been able to take that one attack (seen at 5:06) seriously. While it was probably deliberately animated this way, it looks like Dark Samus's animations have glitched, causing her model to revert to a default T-pose. It always makes me laugh.
0:34 You can't really see it in this vid, but Samus narrows her eyes at this moment You can kinda see it here: th-cam.com/video/eLn3GDHFGLc/w-d-xo.html
Also, this I can't stress enough, when the Aurora Unit shoots at you, LOCK ON AND STRAFE!!! I've done this boss fight many times and in one instance I never took a hit during stage 2.
It's a really flash fight and I love it but honestly, shes really easy - weak to the stuff that's everywhere and basically like your then upgraded power-beam
Does anyone to see the Aurora Unit is a Skeleton Amadial Exderbite? We really do not sell this UN-Holy Image out to California, when put to the U.S.'s release of Metroid 3 to Metroid Trilogy.
All of these insane moves from prime 2 and 3 and they just had to make her an exact copy of smaus in ultimate... Her moveset would be Absolutely bannas if they gave her half of these moves
Something I just realized even though I put hundreds of hours into this game and beat this game like 5 times. Dark Samus could've just waited for the atmosphere on phaaze to kill Samus. And not fight her... And she'd win... And the Pirates in orbit wouldn't have been defeated... And Dark Samus would've corrupted the whole galaxy... LOL?
Metroid prime games just have this atmosphere that you just don’t see in other games
That extends to the whole Metroid franchise really.
But, your point is still valid as even the Prime trilogy is unique within its own franchise.

Remember, both of these attacks preceded by electricity in the spinal cord LOL
*Samus triplets.
I couldn't get that damn move to work LOL
Wow, I haven't fought a boss this annoying in a very long time
man i wish they made a metoid prime 4
There are rumours that it will happen due to the ending of Metroid Prime Federation Force. Don't lose hope just yet!
I hope sylux is there
They will
Just got announced for the Switch :)
lordjor96 WE'RE HERE BABY THE TIME IS NOW!!!!!!
This battle is what puts Samus next to Doom Guy in terms of badass.
Dark Samus copies a lot of attacks from the other bounty hunters; Rundas's ice pillars and Spirit Bomb-style ice cube attack, Ghor's Plasma Beam and rapid spinning attacks, and Gandrayda's leap attacks and homing shots.
What I liked about Metroid Prime 3 was playing It with the Wii Motion Controllers.
I played it. At first time hella weird but after 30 minutes you get used to it
@@SkibbidyToilet-f4e And then you learn to anticipate a monster's movement, calculating the right distance away from the target to nail It :D
@@emishimaru-sama6449 when i first sat with prime 3 i was veteran of motion controls bc i played prime trilogy
The last part reminds me when quadraxis head comes of in metroid prime 2
tbh i would have liked the fight more if the stages were flipped, and Dark Samus in her base form was what you fought at the end.
This is one of my favorite boss fights that I've played.
this game was so fucking hard when i was like 15
I was able to beat the game when I was 13 on the phazon difficulty. Took tons of trial and error to figure out the best route, but I did it.
On veteran right now, currently stuck on Bryyo trying to disable turrets.
@@ItIsMeTime123 I hate that part of mp3 so much
All the time when i see THIS Scene here 23:02 i get so big Goosebumbs :D This Scream is so awesome!
A truly climactic finale for possibly the *best* trilogy in all of gaming...
It’ll be a better boss battle on December 7th.
Why...?

Great high quality vid (& gameplay)! This was the only HD Metroid 3 vid i could find.
14:12
Did you seriously think that was going to work?
Tip: When Dark Samus and her Echo fires the Plasma Beam, go into Morph Ball. It can't hit you as you're significantly shorter. And if you're brave enough, Hyper Ball them. Just don't get too close.
This was my first and favorite metroid game. It's so sad to see samus like this. Corrupted
This video did a great job showing Dark Samus' moveset.
Dark Samus = the ultimate samus Villian. Hope she revives somehow but it is unlikely.
After what she did to Samus, and the other 3 hunters, she throws herself 100% at samus. She gets torn in half. She merges wiht the aurora unit for mor epower. Torn in half again. She tries to use the AU one last time. she done splode.d
WiiManElite Is it? I sorta hope not. I'd love to see a SA-X corrupted by Phazon to become like super Phazon Samus X or something
*Phazon
Welcome to Ultimate.
3:14 Matrix moment
Man it's weird how Dark Samus came to life.
Phazon + Samus cells from the phazon suit Metroid Prime grabbed from her
The Aurora Unit certainly is the creepiest boss in the game.
For a while, I thought this Aurora Unit was the same we saw briefing Samus and the others. But it was another.
@@iagoluiz8467Would’ve been even creepier if that were the case. Imagine it trying to communicate with Samus while corrupted and you’re fighting it
@@RetroCube That would maybe be hell.
Metroid prime 4's final boss is likely going to be far more formidable and epic
22:56 sounds like the flood
Dark Samus always reminds me of Dark Link and Shadow Mario
For me, Dark Samus is MORE powerful than SA-X from Metroid Fusion.
+WiiManElite Indeed, plus SA-X has the ability of multiplying itself as you can see in Metroid Fusion. So, as you said, if X can be compatible with Phazon, it'll be difficult for Samus to destroy it.
WiiManElite Actually dark samus is metroid prime and you know who eats X parasites for breakfest? Metroids.(mic drop)
+HunterMishky 117 Yes, but nothing can say that Metroid can still kill the X parasite.
ByoNemesis Well take it this way in fusion samus is mixed with metroid dna so she's just a hybrid correct? well dark samus is also a hybrid but with phazon added in because essentially she's basically samus mixed with metroid and phazon.
+HunterMishky 117 That's why I think that Dark Samus is more powerful than SA-X.
she's back
Can you believe I beat this final boss on the first try, unlike the other Metroid Prime games where it took multiple tries to beat the final boss? And no, the game was not on easy, it was on hard mode. Nevertheless this was a very fun Bossfight.
How can u tell it was on hard mode?
@@j4im3g0nz4l3zTGK26 The amount of energy you take out of the boss. The best example is Dark Samus.
Dark Samus Is My Favorite Boss Character!
Who's here after seeing Dark Samus in Smash Bros. Ultimate?
Many comments have poured in right after her confirmation. Ha ha.
Me, so glad to see Metroid getting some love in smash. At least Sakurai was cool, Nintendo just gave us federation force smh
I can't contain myself!
Me
Me
I actually prefered Prime 3s version of Dark Samus' battle theme... It felt very final and dramatic.
imagine fighting dark samus and you're using the orange phazon from prime 1, lol the fight would end in like 2 minutes
Samus couldn't even reach the battle arena. She would get destroyed by the radioactivity of phazon.
@@TealJosh thas the point dude he said “imagine“
That clean ass front flip she did though 🥰😍
I truly love this game its my most favourite game of all time i own the trilogy and never will i ever sell it :)
Anyone think the Aurora Unit Head kinda looks like a Metroid?
This is my favorite boss ever.
And finally we will get Metroid Prime 4 :).
This didn’t age well.
@@shadycal27Yes it did
3:16 The way Dark Samus multiplies herself like that looks oddly familiar.
Oh, you're right...
Shadow Clone Jutsu!
It would've been cool if in ultimate samus's FS was go into heypermode
One of the hardest most frustrating bosses I've played against, coming from a Megaman, contra, dark souls, nes, snes, n64, xbox ps to current player
When they do that trio spinning attack thing, instead of going into morph ball, screw attack them. I take out an echo with each pass when I do.
"CLAP YOUR HANDS IF YOU WANT ME"
"CLAP YOUR HANDS IF YOU WANT ME"
"CLAP YOUR HANDS IF YOU WANT ME"
The Most Powerful Villain Of Metroid Prime, Dark Samus
6:41 i love this sound
"And STAY dead, this time...."
_- Everyone after beating Dark Samus...AGAIN_
I've never been able to take that one attack (seen at 5:06) seriously. While it was probably deliberately animated this way, it looks like Dark Samus's animations have glitched, causing her model to revert to a default T-pose. It always makes me laugh.
I think I'm lucky having this game on my wii
I guess dark samus got a 10 out of 10 for dance moves
You know, sitting near a phazon puffer actually is a good thing, as long as you back away before it explodes.
Guys, two Thin,
1) I hope that Nintendo Will male metroi prime 4
2) I'm still desperate of rundas, ghor And gandrayda's death
The spelling is killing me...
Well you get your first wish
0:34 You can't really see it in this vid, but Samus narrows her eyes at this moment
You can kinda see it here: th-cam.com/video/eLn3GDHFGLc/w-d-xo.html
This guy makes it look so difficult
Also, this I can't stress enough, when the Aurora Unit shoots at you, LOCK ON AND STRAFE!!! I've done this boss fight many times and in one instance I never took a hit during stage 2.
Opponent: Dark Samus
Strategy: Conquer yourself!
22:56 Goodbye, Dark Samus!
23:16 Samus is back to normal! 😊
Good times. I remember when they spit, I sat up and really got into the fight
It's a really flash fight and I love it but honestly, shes really easy - weak to the stuff that's everywhere and basically like your then upgraded power-beam
The sounds that Dark Samus makes are very similar to the Drej from Titan A.E with Matt Damon, Drew Barrymore, & Bill Pullman.
Well, now you know why she didn't have these moves there. Ha ha.
2018. Metroid Prime 3 Corruption: Complete.
The red phazon beam was a cool callback to MP1
Metroid prime 3 was my #1 most favorite metroid game. Pinball and federation force were my least favorite
This needs to come to the Switch.
Bro the suit be looking like optimal prime
Something I just realized even though I put hundreds of hours into this game and beat this game like 5 times.
Dark Samus could've just waited for the atmosphere on phaaze to kill Samus. And not fight her... And she'd win... And the Pirates in orbit wouldn't have been defeated... And Dark Samus would've corrupted the whole galaxy...
LOL?
No but the thing is Dark Samus was affected by the Phazon. It even says it in her log. She's disrupted by Phazon.
But dark samus wanted to fuse with the aurora unit to control all phazon, and samus probably knew where to find her since their phazon connection
*But then suddenly, when you almost took Dark Samus out, you hear Samus' scream, in echoes, then the screen gets smaller, then goes black...*
ps.dark samus allways go left when she sommon doppelgangers.
also.the only real one has blue visor.
Hearing her laugh at 7:15 was a kinda cool
I’ve never actually gotten this far on Metroid Prime 3 Corruption!!!
Waiting for this and Echoes remasters in 2024! Hopefully they come soon
