It's a smart idea for Bashmaster (the Polar Bear from DKTF) to change colors because he keeps falling in the juice lake, which stains his fur more and more throughout the battle, instead of just screaming and randomly turning red/black.
I get your point and yea, it's clever but the other examples can still be explained by increased blood pressure/body temp

Same, I remember I was struggling so hard on this first boss fight. I didn’t understand that I was supposed to jump onto Mugly.
No one can lie about how it is guaranteed that Colonel Pluck had one of the best sounding intro cutscenes.
Idk why but whenever I heard that music I felt hypnotized by it myself and was like “I must obey”

Donkey Kong Country Returns was one of my favorite games on the Wii and still is to this day! I hope it one day can make its way onto Switch as like a Deluxe edition

Ah yes DK: Country Returns, my first ever game when I was only 6 years old, back in 2006, when my parents bought me the Wii, good memories :'). Although I sucked at this game, but of course I sucked, I was 6 back then, for crying out loud XD

Oh No! The Ba-Boom trio has got the stolen banana bunch from the Kongs! Now they are angry! 35:04
1ST PHASE: The Ba-Boom brothers uses swinging ropes and hammers to hit the Kongs. They can also roll over them but you can roll back onto them to stun the baboons and jump onto their rears.
2ND PHASE:
Two of the Ba-Boom brothers throw durian bombs at the Kongs while one of them is eliminated. Grab watermelon bombs and throw them at the baboons!
3RD PHASE:
One of the Ba-Boom trio can duplicate back into three that two of them are ghostly and fake when both are eliminated by the Kongs. They can throw more durian bombs onto the ground. Grab more watermelon bombs and throw them onto the last baboon member to defeat him.

Probably my favorite bosses from both games are Colonel Pluck and Stompybot and Bashmaster the Unbreakable

Never finished DKCR until quite recently. Initially played it with my brother. It was difficult and we just sort of stopped at World 7. A year ago or so, I finished the game with a friend of mine.

In my case, DKCR was the first Donkey Kong game I legally owned in my life (before DKCR I rented DK: Barrel Blast in a Blockbuster in Valdivia, Chile that unfortunately ended up closing and I also played DKC 1, DKC 3 and DK: Jungle Beat via certain ways that I don't think I can mention here). I still have my DKCR physical copy to this day that sometimes I use to play it on my Wii U and I also have a physical copy of DKC: Tropical Freeze for the Nintendo Switch, I also have a N64 controller for the Nintendo Switch Online service so I could play DK 64 when Nintendo adds the game (which unfortunately it hasn't been announced for the service yet).
I have a physical copy of Donkey Kong Country Returns, and an old friend of mine (to my knowledge) still has his copy of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze.
My god tropical freeze bosses have BANGERS
The DKTF bosses just seem kinda lackluster compared to their predecessors, they lack the same vigor and energy of the old guys. They were also hypnotized so that’s even more impressive that they could convey such emotion

I’m very sure it’s because the TF bosses don’t have a defeated cutscene, DK just goes straight to kicking @$$. Take a watch at Mugly, the simplest one and yet all emotion in defeat, the cutscenes reveal so much character.

My favorite DK Country Returns boss is the Mangoruby mainly because it looked cute in my opinion and I love the design of the tiki that hypnotized it.
The big boss at the end when they throw the bananas into the boss of the brain is very smart. He did a good trick on them. I respect that man.😏
Almost feel bad for most of DKCR’s bosses.
I always thought that they’re not being directly controlled by the Tikis, only that the Tikis are convincing them that DK’s their enemy. My main point for this is that Colonel Cluck was still operate his mech, since I doubt the Tiki would be able to use it itself.

Only thing Colonel Pluck is missing is a phase before the Stompybot's attacks where he uses the conveyor belt against you.

DK Country Returns was and still to this day is my favorite Wii game (as well as my favorite Nintendo game as a whole)
I like it how when breaking into Thuglys home you can shake the wii remote and Diddy kong would shoot his peanut guns and have them durning the cutscene

honestly DKCR beat ups after the boss hit harder than the DKTF because you get to see the aftermath of the fight rather than a black screen going towards it. besides shaking the controller is better than mashing buttons (although i like the buttons also)
