Apollo Just Ice RIGHT?! Alucard’s subplot was the worst part of this season. It had me mad for hours. It all felt rushed an unnecessary. And the WAY it went down felt really weird and like it came out of someone’s fan fiction. I didn’t like it at all.

What i loved about that scene was I felt scared for Trevor and Sypha. I kept on thinking one of them was gonna either get critically injured or die. I LOVED that. Normally I'll be watching a similar scene in an anime but won't be afraid because they are wearing plot armor. Same could be said for this scene but it felt dangerous. Season 4.. when?!?

It's a shame there's not many animated shows like this, most adult cartoons rely on toilet humour but castelvania is bloody brilliant (pun intended)

It helps that you've a talent like Warren Ellis doing the writing. He's one of the few "mature" writers I know who is truly adult. Humor can be crude but his action scenes are kickass and he's always got an eye for the consequences.

Yeah this shows really makes scars and bruises realistic. I hate it when all the other animations just forget them or don't show them. For me it takes so much away and doesn't make charecters more beautiful at all.

I guess I can’t confirm whether you’ll like it or not, fiction is very subjective, but the characters are super charming, the animation is anywhere between good and mind boggling, and the story is tight and well constructed. I think a weekly release schedule benefits the series & streaming platform (e.g. Netflix) more since there's weekly hype over however many weeks the series lasts whereas dumping the whole season at once lets people binge the series immediately and ends the hype train much sooner. As a consumer I prefer to binge watch though.

That they haven't forgotten Curse of Darkness is a lauded masterpiece...and that Hector and Isaac would be on a different spectrum with current events. With Hector now siding with humanity after his torture and Isaac now liberated and essentially free due to Dracula would still carry out Dracula's plan. All in all i think they'd BOTH put aside personal grievances ( Hector blaming Isaac for his capture and torture or at least not seeking him out and Isaac blaming Hector for Dracula's death due to his disappearance) to deal with an Ambitious Vampiric Bitch that needs to be put down with prejudice.

Love this series: the animation, writing, voice talents, music, and the journey. Season 1 literally gave it so much depth, not even the games were able to deliver.
Season 2, the evolution, the battle of the hierarchy with humanity in the crosshairs. Til that final battle. This is what defines a series, unafraid to go beyond the narrative.

Given the redesign of Issac, the ONLY thing I’m interested in seeing is not one, but two women of color, but it looks like they’re not even doing THAT, so... all the more reason for me to avoid this terrible show.

Lets hope he comes back. But he before his Death he saw what he did, nearly killing his own Son. When he comes back, he is Not a Villian. Or he still seeks Human Extension, but this would be nonsense, without a good Reason. I mean his hate for humans is still there, but it would be Not satisfying for me.

Am I the only one upset about what they did to Hector? The series played him off as a child in a man's body and I hate seeing him be treated like a literal pet. It's like watching a naked child in a cage be beaten, chained and bloodied. But to be fair, he wanted humans to be like pets under Dracula's ruling, so I'm assuming this is supposed to be a cruel irony.

I'm just hoping it builds him up to be as vengeful as he is in Curse of Darkness, if anything. But I'll be pissed if I have to watch him be Carmilla's bitch the whole season. CoD is a favorite of mine. I suppose his backstory about animals and him being more meek than he first appears is similar to a supplemental backstory manga that Konami made around the original game's release, IDK.

He could very well return, albeit briefly. If memory serves, we should be entering the timeframe of 'Curse of Darkness' so Issac's endgame could be to bring Drac Back.
Unless this is just a prelude to that and season 4 covers the events of Curse.
He 100% will return in the final moments of the last episode of this season. The whole “evil never stays buried” quote they showed has me convinced.

This season was great, but once again left things hanging when it comes to Alucard. At the end of last season I was like 'Oh no, poor Alucard' and pretty much that was me again with this season, but of course with the added: 'Oh no, poor Hector!'. lol! They better come up with a nice arc for Alucard (and the pet) in Season 4 and with a more satisfying ending.
