GREAT display. I love those two ghosts you had side by side. This type of low laying fog setup is very popular now. I did mine last year using a ice chest (cause I was using it with ice in prior years), but I want to get a tool chest like yours If you don’t want to step down the output to the bilge blower, you can heat the end of the 3” pvc to get it soft enough to where the input end of the blower will push into the pvc. Then tighten it with a hose clamp until cool. Take the hose clamp and the pvc will be locked onto the blower.
I understand what you're saying but don't see any advantage there. Especially since I attach the fan in such a way as to allow any built up moisture to drip out, pre fan, at that juncture instead of collecting inside the fan housing or getting pushed down the tube.
Thanks for sharing. For years I have used a cooler with dry ice and 1300 watt for machine, but getting low hanging fog never worked. A guy a few miles away has an awesome display and I asked him how he does it. He also uses ultrasonic mister and fog machine. So I am going to try it this year
Great thinking by angling the bilge fan back into the tub. I just finish putting pretty much the same build together. Have you noticed that there seems to be a lot of water hitting the fan? I can hear the fan blades whirling and water.
I'm using 100 feet of 3 inch drain pipe with holes drilled every two or three feet. here is the link to the exact pipe I'm using www.homedepot.com/p/Advanced-Drainage-Systems-3-in-x-100-ft-Singlewall-Solid-Drain-Pipe-03510100/100567894
I was considering it during the build but found it unnecessary after seeing the results. These misters actually stop working if the water temp gets too high or too low
@@checkyourhopper i actually have a very similar setup, but i did add just a lil bit of ice, only difference i think with mine is that i am completely air tight, not one drip of fog escapes by design, so the little ice i do have last quite a while, excellent work btw
I have always thought to have low lying fog you need to reduce the temperature, but I dont see the mister doing that. How does this work? It looks awesome but I dont see the mister chilling down the fog that much, so it must be something else that makes ths so incredible.
I believe the mister cools the fog down enough to produce the low lying fog effect. The water itself is quite chilly. I also considered putting ice in the chest with the water and mister but after the first few runs I noticed the fog was getting chilled enough to not need the addition of ice
I was watching another video awhile ago where someone did a comparison with the ultra sonic mister with regular room temp water and then with chilled water. They put frozen water bottles in the chest. The fog laid a lot lower with just the room temp water than with the cold water. They came to the conclusion it’s the humidity the pond mister creates in the tool chest that makes the fog from the fog machine heavier. I tried to find that video but not seeing it.
The resulting effect probably wouldn't be worth the time, money, and effort to build this setup without the fog machine. In my opinion, not enough mist makes it through the tube.
Ha, I just finished building my setup and found your video -I have almost the exact same set up! Same job box, electrical box, blower, mister and tubing. :) I'm testing this right now and the fog isn't lying down at all, so not sure what's going on. Mine comes out low and immediately starts rising, whereas yours comes out and falls. I'm using Freezin Fog, so maybe I need to try Swamp Juice instead?
@@andrewholt2078 I’ve tried other fog juice and this one works best for me. Other factors are air temp and water temp. The size of the holes in the tube and speed of the fan also affect how the fog comes out of the tube and disperses.
@@checkyourhopper Thank you! I'll give that juice a shot - it's possible Freezing Fog doesn't work well with ultrasonic mist and for some reason really does require actual chilling. I'll also try with a longer tube since the blower might be too fast for a short tube even at its lowest setting.

Nice looking display and a well done video. Thanks for sharing.

Great video thank you
I asked about the fog on another video but I just found my answer, watching now. :)

awesome! good luck and feel free to reach out if you have any questions about my experience making one
Thank you for making this video! I’m currently working on a fog system for my Halloween haunt and I’m in the trouble shooting phase lol

Love the spooky tree in the yard... where did you get him?
What type of tubing are you using to run throughout the yard? Is it 4” something?

Would it be helpful to add some ice cubes to the water for the mister?

Hey the rubber gasket connection that connects from the box, to the fan… is that a 3”x2”?
@@greenway1313 it’s actually a 3”x3”
@@checkyourhopperisnt that a reducing coupling coming from the box and going into the fan?

Where did you get the dewalt tool chest?
