I understand what you're saying but don't see any advantage there. Especially since I attach the fan in such a way as to allow any built up moisture to drip out, pre fan, at that juncture instead of collecting inside the fan housing or getting pushed down the tube.

I was considering it during the build but found it unnecessary after seeing the results. These misters actually stop working if the water temp gets too high or too low

@@checkyourhopper i actually have a very similar setup, but i did add just a lil bit of ice, only difference i think with mine is that i am completely air tight, not one drip of fog escapes by design, so the little ice i do have last quite a while, excellent work btw

The resulting effect probably wouldn't be worth the time, money, and effort to build this setup without the fog machine. In my opinion, not enough mist makes it through the tube.

@@andrewholt2078 I’ve tried other fog juice and this one works best for me. Other factors are air temp and water temp. The size of the holes in the tube and speed of the fan also affect how the fog comes out of the tube and disperses.

@@checkyourhopper Thank you! I'll give that juice a shot - it's possible Freezing Fog doesn't work well with ultrasonic mist and for some reason really does require actual chilling. I'll also try with a longer tube since the blower might be too fast for a short tube even at its lowest setting.

@@greenway1313 I'm so sorry. I was looking at the coupler from the fan to the tube. yes, the coupler from the box to the fan is a 3in x 2in

I believe the mister cools the fog down enough to produce the low lying fog effect. The water itself is quite chilly. I also considered putting ice in the chest with the water and mister but after the first few runs I noticed the fog was getting chilled enough to not need the addition of ice

I was watching another video awhile ago where someone did a comparison with the ultra sonic mister with regular room temp water and then with chilled water. They put frozen water bottles in the chest. The fog laid a lot lower with just the room temp water than with the cold water. They came to the conclusion it’s the humidity the pond mister creates in the tool chest that makes the fog from the fog machine heavier. I tried to find that video but not seeing it.

Thanks so much! I did make a chiller, but not the typical version using ice. I ran my fog through a box filled with water and a 12 head mister.
