    I was overwhelmed at the prospect of troubleshooting a hoverboard that won't stop complaining about a low battery. Between this video and your website I think I can pull it off. I appreciate you making it easier

    Thank you so much. I have looked for so long to find out the problem with my hover board and nothing helped at all. All other videos sucked and were unclear. I tested it with my multimeter and had the exact same readings as your faulty battery. Around 3.6. I’m about to buy a new one.

    Some battrries multimeter reading give 18-19 volts, its fine as this is the output of the internal controller board, if you opened the battry and probed the batteries directly, it will give you 36v

    I revived My hover board battery and the voltage on B- and B+ show 38volts but through the actual xt60 connector it reads 25volts. I’m guessing it’s a faulty bms but it was working before this happened.

    Hi! Just wondering what your location is. We have a swagtron that isn't working and want it to be repaired. Our swagtron won't turn on unless plugged in, and when it's plugged in it lights up red.

    • @johnmilton2077
      @johnmilton2077 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      swagtron seems to be a very common problem - that's why I'm looking - check out how many diff youtube vids show problems with them! especially the red ones!

  • @littlepeoplemusic
    @littlepeoplemusic 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Hi. The charger battery briefly blinks red but then stays green. When I measure the voltage I get 32v though - not nearly as low as your battery here. Is that considered bad? The hoverboard doesn’t turn at all btw.

    3.8V is a FLAT battery - perhaps used to 'simulate' a dead battery - even a duff battery, off load, would produce over 20V

    I have a 37vdc battery and it shows 01.8 when testing the battery with a multimeter. Problem is I can’t find a 37vdc battery for sale anywhere only 36 volt battery. Will a 36 volt battery be ok?

    • @SaminaZafar270

      It doesn't matter if it is 36 or 37 volt battery. You can use a 36 volt battery for hoverboard

    My brand new hoverboard run time is around 25 minutes then it cut off power of board. At full charge it was around 41.5 V and after 25 minutes the battery voltage was only 37.8 V for cut off. Why is the voltage still so high and already there was a cut off the power?
    At wat voltage should the board switch off? Any suggestions?

    • @illoko9034
      @illoko9034 ปีที่แล้ว

      It should switch off at around 30 volts so the cutoff is too high

    i have a problem with my hoverboard, it will randomly shut off while riding or when there is a large load (when you lean forwards too fast) but now its mostly just doing it on its own even when i go slow, i checked the battery and its at 41v even though its supposed to be 36v? i measured it from the end of the plug not the batteries them self so i dont really know whats going on here. im worried it might be a logic board problem but i overviewed the board and the components seem fine (no burn marks or anything) HOWEVER i did get this board refurbished and i actually got a refund for it so i basically got it for free so im not afraid to experiment with it but i would love to get it working again. batteries are around $40-50 new for a samsung brand battery so if i know for sure thats the problem i will go with name brand but i need someones help because im clueless, i tried testing the battery whilst it was plugged in to the board and im not sure if its my volti-meter or what but its not getting anything whatsoever, i tried switching to amps and testing it and somehow my meter shorted the connections through its self (fairly certain i didnt touch two pads by accident). edit: still powers on and functions. I was quick to remove the prong before it welded to the board or something.

    Hi, what voltage is it when it is empty? Mine reads 39.68 voltage when it is full even though it's a 36 volt battery. Also is it bad to run it to empty?

    • @SaminaZafar270
      @SaminaZafar270 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      36 is average voltage. Most lithium ion batteries have voltage from 3 to 4.2 volts. So there are 10 cells in series and 2 in parallel. 4.2 x 10 = 42 volts and 3 x 10 = 30 volts. 39 is ok

      you do't charge it while you read the volts, it basically puts more power into the battery unless theres is something really wrong with you're hoverboard

    • @JasonLeef33dm3

      He's saying if your hoverboard was working and charging fine, you wouldn't look at this video.
      Normally green means fully charged, but in this video it could mean battery not detected.
      If you see red it indicates the battery is not full and is charging

      Yea I agree….he didn’t account for discharge or any other circuitry that goes between the AC charger and the battery…..wiring could be at fault or the circuitry in between like the bms
