I don't have experience with UI/UX but you can adapt the principles I taught to any type of freelancing

Thanks so much for sharing these tips. I've been working on Upwork for a while but I'm struggling a lot lately trying to get clients.
I have a couple of questions: I've been including a link to my portfolio in my proposals but I'm not sure if the client is clicking on that link, do you use any tool to track that? Second question would be, if the job post was set to hourly rate, is it possible to convince the client to switch to fixed rate? Have you done that?
    Thanks!

Yes I've convinced clients all the time to switch to fixed rate even though the job was posted as hourly. Much of the time, they just don't know which would be best for their job. And I haven't tracked clicks to the links in my proposals but you could use something like Bitly.
Also you should check out my new course where I dive deep into writing proposals and convincing the client to hire you: freelancefamilyman.com/upwork-course

@@FreelanceFamilyMan thanks for your reply. I tried to apply the coupon but it says it's invalid. 🥲

Thank you so much Chad. This info is priceless. Definitely taking notes and implementing all this today.
One question I have though is when you are referring to the packages in a google doc, do you mean like monthly rates? I have always thought hourly was the best route, but do you think it would be better to go for fixed rate projects at set prices and packages? For example maybe something like: Social Media Consulting for $1,000/Month, Social Media Consulting & Management for $2,000/Month, and Social Media Consulting, Management, & Content Creation for $3,000/Month? Is that what you meant? Or should I stick with hourly and just write out a package for that specific client and job on google docs that will have all the details and specifics of what I can do for them? Maybe a video on that would be good. Thank you again.

Great question, Here's a recent video I did on this: th-cam.com/video/KJHY9e7iER8/w-d-xo.html
If you want to scale your business, you'll need to offer fixed rate packages as well, it's the only way to break the income ceiling that your hourly rate will maintain, because you can only increase your hourly rate so much before it's too high for clients to be willing to pay it based on your industry. Here's examples of fixed rate packages I offer in my business so you can get an idea: arrowlightvideo.com/packages-pricing
