F-Zero X: EXpansion Kit - Rainbow Road
ฝัง
- เผยแพร่เมื่อ 23 ส.ค. 2007
- Here is a music track from the exclusive F-Zero X: EXpansion Kit. This time, it is a new track called "Rainbow Road", which replaces the "Drivin' Through On Max" music piece on the Rainbow Road stage. It is actually a remix of the Rainbow Road used in Mario Kart 64. Finally, this is also one of the two tracks in F-Zero EXpansion Kit that doesn't actually have an alternative name, and is just called by its track name (Rainbow Road). Composed by Taro Bando and Hajime Wakai.

mario kart was so pissed at f zero for using their rainbow road theme that they took their mechanics, tracks and best music for 8
What. That makes no sense. F-Zero's mechanics are completely different. They're both Nintendo properties.
@@alexanderavila4662 probably referencing the anti-gravity in 8 and how f-zero has floating cars
@@Trickward Oh well I mean Nintendo always gives hints with same universe concepts so it was about to happen.
It's a joke lol
Even I could tell that
Then they just Put the blue falcon IN Mariokart 8.
I'm not kidding, it's like Captain Falcon Cheated on them or something, they were mad!
Who ever thought Rainbow road would be more intense WITHOUT items?

Great songs of course! It's sad that N64DD sold just a little, cause this Expansion needed to be sold worldwide! Imagine tons of people creating their own courses, it would be great! I wish they had added those to F Zero GX, but they put only Machine Customization.
I actually heard this on a local radio station earlyer this year, instant stay in car moment to listen to this one

F Zero X is seriously one of the most metal games ever.
Ever hook up an N64 or a console with this on Virtual console to a stereo with a sub- It will destroy your house.
Darien Goheen Well...without the expansion kit the music would be in mono so....
Le Docteur
It still destroys your house regardless.
And if it were in 7.1 surround sound?
Destroys your earphones
To be honest I never minded it being in mono, the music is already that fucking amazing. One of the best uses of N64 sampling instruments in my honest opinion, sounds nearly CD quality, even if there's no stereo (well, without the expansion anyways).
How ironic that the best version of the Rainbow Road theme isn't from a Mario Kart game.
for real
And how ironic that the best Mute City theme isn't from a F-Zero game. ;-)
Richard Williams And Big Blue. Especially Big Blue.
Richard Williams well yeah, is coming from f zero gx with the Z option.
Pepe Roni from f zero gx right ? im know thr mk8 is good but not the best in my opinion
If F-Zero X ever gets released on the Wii U Virtual Console, they should translate the Expansion Kit and add it as DLC, so then overseas gamers will finally get to experience this piece of epicness!
I'll be happy as a mofo is that happens!
Not as DLC. Just add it to the game!
+Brandon Matys I'd pay up to a 100.
Moody
Since they included the e-Reader levels with Super Mario Advance 4 at no extra charge, then this could become a future possibility! There's still hope!
Honestly that is what I hope happens with the N64 classic.
It's truly a shame that we never got this tune in the original version of the game. It is awesome, to say the least.
Its criminal this song is stuck on the 64 Disk Drive.
I would give anything for Nintendo to do a 64DD add on for their online expansion
To make courses on this game with online capabilities would be awesome for the switch online expansion and well worth the price for it
They would be able to do it no problem, the thing is it would be more labor and time intensive to do it with X, hence why they started with the original SNES version to gauge public interest on the F-Zero IP. All things considered I think it went quite well so we can probably expect to see X and GX get ported to the Switch or the next console in the coming months/years

F-Zero as a series makes me feel like I can do and achieve anything. The power these games give me has helped in rough times and I’m glad that I’ve gotten to experience it. They’re one of the hardest games I’ve played but they’re still so much fun and enjoyable. Captain Falcon is one of my all time favorite video game characters, despite him not having much of a personality, but that’s kinda what I like about him
This should've been used in Mario Kart 8
Actually, I kinda like the Mario Kart 8 version of N64 rainbow road better, but then again I'm also a huge fan of that big-band type of music. This is pretty good, but I'm just not a huge fan of that kind screechy guitar.
The Mario Kart 8 version fits Mario Kart better than the F-Zero version, but they're both awesome.
@@Xcelleratr That kind of 90's Power-Rangers-y screechy junk guitar is exactly what tickles my nostalgia-buds, thank you very much
Nope. Mario Kart 8 is a part of Super Mario Jazz timeline (Super Mario 3D Land onward).
Heavy, thrash, speed, AND power? This is the most metal Nintendo soundtrack ever!
I am so crying nerd tears right now. This game defines my entire freaking childhood. It's sad to be all grown up and not have a decent sequel to this amazing piece of art. This game is such a master piece. Big fan.
At least there's Wipe Out,which is another CLAWsome similar series of the F-Zero,if more of these racing games be released, possibly they might bring F-Zero in more ways than one
So how are you feeling about F zero 99?
F-Zero GX exists, homie.
@@lucasnassar2778 There's no Wipeout, not 2 years ago and definitely not now. Wipeout died in 2012.
@@SonicMaster519 GX released in 2003, homie. He's obviously lamenting the fact that there hasn't been a new game in 21 years.
When i hear this Version of Rainbow Road i can Imagin Mario and his Friends looking at the Night Sky, watching Captain Falcon, Rick Wheeler and other F-Zero Pilots soaring through the Rainbow like Shooting Stars
So happy with F-Zero 99 being so active more and more F-Zero songs have been getting more attention lately.
What a song
imagine it on Guitar Hero

More like GuitarFreaks and DrumMania, GITADORA!
Rainbow Road stage in SSB4 with this track as one of the selectable stage tunes anyone?
How did you know about today's trailer three weeks ago!
Michael Sharpe I think he was just suggesting that it should be in it.
There is the Mario Kart 7 Rainbow Road stage, but because it's the 3DS version, its has to fight for a spot of 2. If there isn't a F-Zero stage in the 3DS version, then it could be very likely, much like how the Temple Stage was the Fire Emblem stage, with the music.
The "My music" option form Brawl will return in SSB4...
...for the Wii U. MK7 Rainbow Road's only 2 songs it has are the original MK7 & a remix of the MK7 music.
Well, your wish partially came true...
They are catering to different audiences. Mario Kart goes for casual, hilarious fun, and is a game anyone can play.
F-Zero is for more intense gamers. Many of the challenges are a lot more difficult, and it can be difficult for people to cope with the speed. Yet the satisfaction of completing these events is spectacular.
I play F-Zero with my gaming buddies when we want something competitve; We play Mario Kart if we just want pure chaos, which, can be fun.
This literally describes the final year at school/sixth form, you’ve come so far and your at the final stretch where your skill is truly put to the test
Y'know, Tara Bando also did music not only for F-Zero X, but also Mario Kart 64, and Super Mario Kart, as well. Shame they didn't use this in the original version of F-Zero X, as it's a great remix.
It is astounding to me that a metal/rock remix of N64 Rainbow Road manages to capture the same feeling of wonder that the original had that the 8 version lacks
Why didn't I know this existed until now?! I have been living a lie!
imagine being me and discovering this in 2021 tho

This is one of the few songs I can listen to 500 times in row and still not get sick of it.
I was not aware there was a version of Rainbow Road in this game until someone told me it sounded similar to my rock cover of Rainbow Road. What a coincidence that it replaces "Drivin' Through on Max" that happens to be the only F Zero X cover I've made so far. I'm flattered, this is awesome
The best Mario kart easter egg
Perfect for a new F-Zero game, want to know what I call it?
F-ZERO NX DUN DUN DUUUUUNNNNNN

...And then they rename the NX to the Switch.
God dammit, Nintendo.
And the Revolution to the Wii.

Not officially releasing this is criminal!
The only moment when I played F-Zero GX in 2005 in a local arcade of my hometown shopping mall(Pátio Belém,previously known as Iguatemi) and never paid attention to soundtrack, now I have been seeing this treasure of a game on TH-cam I got so curious of this soundtrack yesterday…so I decided to take a look, and I have a note about it:
This specific track today would fit well in sports programs, specially those evolves mountains, skiing and winter sports
This is a different game. You're thinking of F ZERO AX
0:40 goosebumps....
This sounds so nostalgic to me, and yet I've never played F-Zero X nor was I even close to being born when it came out.
This song makes me feel happy when I am stressed out from school or something.
My entire universe revolved around this game when I was 9.
*YOU GOT MUSHROOM POWER!*
I'd love it if they made F-Zero X EXpansion Kit a Virtual Console release.
+mcj88 A massive multiplayer would be a crazy experience.
+Adrahamelech Basilio Juárez Free roam with collisions turned on and damage normal in a small area
May god have mercy on your soul xD
Doesn't everybody? At least I have the real thing in case it doesn't...
Funny, we got a Mario Kart Track in F-Zero years ago, and then in Mario Kart 8, we got 2 F-Zero Tracks in the DLC.
I'm ashamed that I didn't know about this song until now. But I'm so glad that now I do.
Man, we should've totally got this on the original F-Zero X. Better than just having Sector A again.
When gamers turn to musicians just for the memories 💙
holy hell, This is awesome. Imagine what'd be like on the consoles of today, in full quality stereo...
rainbow road stays lit🔥🔥

If you call competitive gameplay completely depending on luck on whether an AI fires a blue shell, thunder, and red shells all on you at the last second, making you drop down to 5th, on nearly every race, then yes, Mario Kart is more competitive than F-Zero. But as a pure racing game, F-Zero blows Mario Kart out of the water in what you could call "competitive".
10 years later but this is the least correct statement ive ever heard
I know the point you are trying to make here but this comes off as salty.
@@meraak1 *most correct

God I love F-zero X with a passion ^_^
I had no idea that the EXpansion Kit changed the music on Rainbow Road to this. That's just so epic.
My 6th favorite vgm ever, one of the most epic guitars ive ever heard.
After splitting the bill on a DD and F zero Xpansion, discovering this on accident was AMAZING
*nostalgia wave*
The memories of dive bombing to the bottom of the hill at the start then hitting your brakes and spinning while half the drivers in the race barrel into you and die. Man, I miss this game
yes there was about 4-6 new tracks with the expansion
Yes, I loved GX even more. Beautiful game. I'm hoping that we can all get a decent sequel to it in the new WiiU. I'd love to see a game like this brought back with all these fancy looking graphics we got going on nowadays. Back in the GameCube days it looked fantastic. And the soundtrack was great.
I shame Nintendo for not making this song for the original game's release. I wouldn't too much, except (as you all know) the 64DD was such a flop that it failed to reach the States where I live, thus preventing the Expansion Kit (which can only be played on the 64DD) from being officially played the USA. All I hope is that when Nintendo fixes the N64 Online mode for the Switch, they will release the Expansion Kit as well (since they also release the Japanese-exclusive "Sin & Punishment").
This is my new favorite song for the week.
OMG, this is so sweet and epic. I love those F-Zero guitars. Rainbow Road ftw! XD
These are the things that I love about Nintendo.
Here's to the '90's
YOU GOT RAINBOW POWER
Now this track actually gives Guilty Gear a run for its money! Although the rest of the XPac tracks aren't amazing, this one is just mind-bogglingly beautiful ^_^.
now i remeber! the buttons to press are, L,Z,R,C↑,C↓,C←,C→. then you'll here a chime and then every thing in the game will be available. Rainbow Rode is located in the joker cup. P.S. the music is replaced by the games standard music. :(
the Blue Falcon is in mario kart wii, here's to getting rainbow road back in f-zero!
There is only one Circuit which is so badass that it exists now and in the F-Zero Future...
You can also use a program called "youtube to mp3" for downloading the song. Kudos to the uploader!
30 people has pressed the Boost button right on the finish line.
This play on my mind when i play 200cc on n64 rainbow road
Gokian's remix brought me here! I CANNOT believe I've known, but never played, F-Zero X all my life and took until now to realize THIS was in the game, expansion or not!
Man, why couldn't this be in normal F-Zero X.
Rainbow Road theme on steroids.
AKA N64DD. Only released in Japan. Added new set of tracks and had a track editor.
I could've sworn the MK64 Rainbow road and this music were in the PAL release though
It would have been funny if this song were to be playing, we'd see F-Zero racers in the Rainbow Road Mario Kart race track instead of the Mario Kart Racers in Super Smash Bros. 4
If you ever played Banjo Kazooie and know much about the S&S stuff, the N64 was so post too do a lot of cross game promos. So if you played both Mario Kart 64 and took save data over too F-Zero, you could perhaps unlocked Rainbow Road as a track in F-Zero. However the project was dropped after the 64's release.
I've never grew up with the N64, but somehow.....this song brings back childhood memories from the 90's
just on word:
masterpiece!
What an AWESOME remix. This remix wants you to go play that level again. WOOT!
I'm gonna make it my life's mission and get amazing at the Flute F Zero OSTs would Sound so good with a well done flute cover if I had money I would pay someone to make a flute cover. There's many retro themes I want to see a flute cover for.

They didn’t have to go this hard but they did
This is a huge improvement to the original on Mario Kart 64. Would make a good guitar hero track as well :)

Talk about epic. This took one of the best Mario Kart tracks (no pun intended) and made it even more awesome.
Fav'd for awesomeness.
Now I'm even looking more forward to getting my Nintendo 64DD Disk Drive!!
Thanks for uploading :D
@zooyorkchild45 - Rare, only for, by and in Japan. It's part of the Nintendo 64DD kit, F-Zero X Expansion Kit, and as such, requires a 64DD, that, and the original Japanese F-Zero X (and a Japanese N64) to listen to it. All songs are rendered in stereo, you get a car editor, track editor (virtually the tool used by the developers) and the DD-1 and DD-2 cups. Also, Super Falcon, Super Cat and Super Stingray, all have A-A-A stats and are exclusive to that expansion.
Nintendo needs this energy back.
This is like replaying my childhood...
But 50% cooler.
