steven: I don't know who needs to hear this right now, but... you need to put work into your marriage.
me, a seventeen-year-old who has never been in any sort of relationship, on the verge of tears: You're so right, Steven. I DO need to put work into my marriage.
Steven: You need to put work into your marriage.
Me: (* confused thornback noises *)
Ok
It's far too late for me...save yourself.
SAME
me about to get divorced: nah, I've put enough work in. I'm bailing
I thought Jon was just mellow when matched against Shane and Ryan's chaotic energy but apparently he is just a fully chill dude. I'm glad he's getting so much recognition and I'm glad he got to enjoy some high quality food that someone else made for him!
Tony's quiet little "I'm really proud of you" makes my day
We all could use a Tony in our lives 😁
Me too
steven: *hates dough*
also steven: *makes dough and has a breakdown about it in every single episode*
Also also Steven: smashes it every fucking time
@@RollMeAFat1 trueeeee we stan
He is such a role model though. He hates it but does it anyway because that's the only way to get better.
he will one day be a master baker, only because he has to push himself hard and learn things cause there is so much to that god forsaken art, speaking as one who can empathize with steven
As Steven said it himself in a previous episode, he's not gonna let dough live rent-free in his head
At this point jon yao is basically the 4th watcher
He's a good mix of all 3! And has a great voice. He could explain anything to me
Nah, his personality doesn’t suit the gang. Nice guy though!
Lol when I saw him on the insta story, I hopped on YT instantly.
Yessss😊😊😊
He's so cute
My favourite part of Dish Granted is that Steven doesn't just try and do everything himself, he brings in experts and friends and is honest about using techniques and recipes from other people. I love that. It takes a village to make a meal. That's the saying, righT?
It takes a village to raise a child, but close enough
he also takes whatever he knows about the person and incorporate so much love for his guest into each of his dishes
It takes a village to breed a child, but close.
@@blurryface6261 Raise a child, breeding only takes two.
@@andreaprochowski4717 Don't need anyone to raise a child, that's why orphanage exists.

Jon looks so terrified when Steve said he is trying to do something similar to what he serves at his restaurant lol
It's such a bold move tbh.
his eyes light up everytime too
Jon felt so awkward about eating on camera that he wanted to start feeding everyone else lmao I love him
this has definitely been commented before, but i’d love to buy a cookbook with stevens dish granted recipes/too many spirits drinks ! 🤠
This, and I also want to see someone perfect the SMO'YSTER dish.
yes
Bruh you definitely need an actual adult supervision bcuz his recipe is wacky af
I reckon that might be tricky because whilst Steven does design the overall meal, he does use other people's recipes for the individual components a lot so he'd probably have to get permission from a bunch of creators to include the methods he used, and some of them may not agree, etc
THATS SUCH A GOOD IDEA!
“All I have to thank is myself...and Claire.”
How dare you deny credit to Jay, whose nods were vital to this entire dough operation lol

@@johrathbun Correct on who, but it was in Part 2, Chapter 5, of the book Don Quixote published in 1615 (for those that didn't read it and wanted to look it up). I Love that you knew that. Not many do. My mom always quoted that to me when I would complain and beg for a snack when she was cooking dinner.
Steven: I'm so nervous, this is more nerve wrecking than first date!
Jon: I'm marriage material
ROFL 🤣🤣🤣
I think one of the reasons this series works so well is because Steven is a really empathetic person. It's actually really impressive how he can figure out what a person would enjoy eating!
Steven should sew all the gold stars to his apron
i want him to do this so he'll look like the final boss of cracker barrel servers in a couple seasons
Or make a sash, like a girl\boy scout, so he can still wash the apron & not the 🌟 stars....😎
Inching closer to a Claire and Watcher crossover.
OMG Dish Granted with Claire!!!!
@@m1ssb0ba yes please! But somehow i imagine it will have something to do with chocolate. Temper chocolate...
That would be funny
Love how you think! Claire can throw down!!
YESSSSS STEVEN COME ON! DISH GRANTED S3 WITH CLAIRE SAFFITZ
YES YES YES YES
Steven's such a good chef. He really sells himself short.
I feel like him and Andrew are really bad about not giving themselves credit. They have both come a really long way and make crazy awesome things
I think he gets worried about making something good for his friends!
I'd like to shoutout the editing team because the blurred dishes look like Breath Of The Wild's dubious food. Maybe I'm wrong but the shoutout to the editing team still stands
I swear, Chefs always have this thing where they actually enjoy sharing or making food for other people. Here is this guest of this show, being provided with a bountiful meal and at the end he is serving the food to the cast. I Love it!!!
Same here!! I have a friend, a really good cook, and she is the best host ever!! When she invites you she cooks like 4 to 5 different dishes and make you eat them all!! (As if I would never said no to her cooking... 🤭).
@@danamartinez7840 People who are Chefs or work in the food industry usually are. Especially when they pair every course with a drink.
Damn. Chefs always have 'a thing' where they enjoy their work? That's wild.
I wanna see Steven go against the Try Guys in a Without a Recipe episode
Jon is such a good sport for accepting more appearances after the Taco Bell and oatmeal slander
But this is Steven
😅😅😅
I literally said out loud: "I hope he makes Claires Focaccia. It's the best." And BAM he did!
Idk why, but Claire and Watcher don't exist in the same universe in my mind but I was so happy Steven used her recipe!
Let's let her know on her foccacia video!!!
I actually just made the recipe again today and it's BOMB,, I was pumped to see Steven use it
Are you psychic or smtng? 🤔
@@carna24 Just a really big fan of Claires Focaccia!
As a Filipino, Steven's recreation of Jollibee spaghetti warms my heart. And Jon mixing up the different dish components on bread is VERY reminiscent of the Filipino way of putting multiple dish components on a spoon with rice. Fantastic episode! The medium rare on the steak is excellent.
At some point, Steven needs to get his dish granted from Ryan & Shane.
That'd be such a disaster I love it
This would actually be perfect for an April Fools Dish Granted episode where the Ghoul Boys make a dish for Steven 😅
Great idea!
omg it would be so chaotic
Some spaghetti and apple taters lmao
At this point, if I see "michelin star chef" used in any context, my mind will automatically scream JON YAO!
They need to get him back again! Maybe Puppet History?
@@nicka5040 I would LOVE that!
"you need to put work in your marriage"
Me who's never dated a single person: will do my dude
The fact that when he tasted it his first reaction was to share it with other people just shows that he is a genuine chef. He tastes great food and wants others to taste it too.
We’re talking leeks because I accidentally bought that instead of celery. He might be making a $360 meal but at least he’s still relatable
I pretend I'm eating whatever Steven is cooking as I eat my stupid healthy lunch I brought for work.
I do this too gbnlksgjklsfjg me watching luxe cooking videos as i scarf down 50c ramen noodles...
Same. I watch these when I get home from work, and it's like having a pleasant dinner with a friend.
I'm in the breakroom taking all the free cookies 🤣
@@fullonsociopath That's literally why Mukbang became a thing in S. Korea. People were lonely at dinner so they made shows to eat with.
im having spaghetti and meatballs so im pretty satisfied once I seen he was serving that too bad I dont have steak but life is not bad
"And also I'm ready to see you... stressed."
Same, Tony 😌
how does steven think he’s anything less than an insanely talented chef?? every time i watch one of these i’m blown away at how he manages to pull it off
Compliments to whoever came up with the style/editing elements of this series, like the font and graphics etc. It's so classy and yet homely, just perfect for the series.
If Steven doesn't make a dish granted episode for Tony, I'll probably cry
Steven always gets so stressed and worried but he always comes through in the end. That what makes this show so soothing. The smoyster wasn't his fault.
Ryan was just a goddamn troll. He did his best.
It was Andrew that asked for a S'moyster...
'Hunger is the best seasoning' that's definitely a good line haha
i cant believe steven went all bougie with his steak and beef noodle soup AND THEN made a jollibee spaghetti????? the duality of a man 😩😩 we love to see it! sooo hungry
Steven's title as "baby chef" is so adorable to me 🥺🥺🥺
Dish granted is my comfort series it makes me so happy
"we fusioned your fusion and now we're making pizza"
Hey y, all at watcher and Shane Ryan and steven! I just have a suggestion, what if you actually put a star on steven's apron every time he gets a gold star! he can just have a new star color if he fills up an apron or a new season starts! plus you can sell more merch via stars and have us viewers experience the dish granted show in our own homes! in compensation for my idea, i would like my own upper history episode :] (jk) love yall!
that sounds great!
cute idea :0
Love the sentiment that Steven puts into his cooking, and the passion he puts into it for the people he's making it for
Steven is probably the best friend anybody has ever had.
Steven: i hate dough
Also steven: *suggest pastries every episode*
I'm here early. I love this series so much! Steven is just so lovable and I'm excited to see the return of Jon Yao.
the amount of food that we dont get to taste at restaurants because its too expensive to make keeps me up at night. Can you imagine how many more dishes you could have.
If that's not a reason to learn how to cook nothing is.
I really want Claire to see this lol. really liked that marriage comment too, very thoughtful
I just noticed the cabinets above your refrigerator are uneven. Now I can't unsee it.
My goodness. Now I have this torture now. THANKS A LOT
happy to see jon on dish granted!! i loved him on top 5 beatdown
THIS is the type of stuff I'd want to eat at a 5-star restaurant, not their tiny little dishes they usually have that spend more time on decoration than the dish itself.
Man's got balls serving a michelin star chef. Jon yao could wrap himself in a fluffy duvet with his head stuck out and pretend to be a toddler, and I would believe it without a doubt.
EVERY TIME I watch this show I pause halfway through cause I need to get the closest thing I have to what Steven is making and eat it while I watch the rest. Every. Damn. Time.
Steven, your creativity inspires and motivates me. I create workshops for a garden center. People tell me I'm too ambitious creating experiences for people. But if I can make them with as much care as you make meals I know I'm doing good. Love the show!
Steven spoiling us again with wholesome content 🥺✨
Feels like watcher is being shadow banned honestly that might not be the thing but they aren't getting the attention they were on buzzfeed and they were pretty much the only thing popular there
Because not a huge amount of people transferred over from the switch
I will admit was surprised I never got the Watcher in my recommendations. Kinda funny cause if it’s anyone else my recommended will be filled with any video that mentions their name. I only knew about Watcher because of Ryan’s Instagram.
This is the difference between a huge company and small business advertising takes money and multi platform advertising also takes big money, it's up to us the Fans to like share and make sure our boys company excels!!
The Try Guys used to get 6M+ views per video at BF. Now they are lucky to get 1M if Keith isn't stuffing his face. Kelsey Impicciche used to get over 1M views on her BF videos, but doesn't break 200K.
Safiya is the only true breakout star, she easily gets 3M+ views per video. Her issue is getting videos out. But she far exceeds the views of Ladylike.
You might add Michelle Khare.
Not every viewer follows the IG or Twitter of the people in the shows.
As the Spiffing Brit could tell you you need to make community posts, surveys and shorts with comments.
My 1st attempt at foccacia...*sobs* It was a dense, unrising hockey puck. The taste was there, but the texture was PLEH
Have you tried since? I almost always have a bad bake or two when I first try a new recipe 😂
@@theWeaverofTales I have actually and it turned out better! I think I scalded my yeast the 1st time around
@@cygnia Temperature is a huge thing. If the liquid is too hot for your finger, it's too hot for yeast.
Also try a no knead recipe. They often start out at room temperature.
Same thing happened first time I made flat bread pizza.
Pressure cooker safety PSA: don’t put a towel over the pressure release valve.
Yes, you defintely wanna let it steam through the valve rather than opening it up entirely.
I was actually very worry at that point.
@Shirley Chan definitely let all the steam out before opening the lid or all that food will end up on the ceiling. Ask me how I know. 😂😂
@Shirley Chan I'd put on a big silicone-coated kitchen glove, move the pressure release valve back to its "sealing" position, and then let the pressure release naturally. With a pot that full it might take up to an hour or more... but it would be much safer than putting a towel over the valve, and less messy than just letting the liquid spurt everywhere.
"who boil wagyu?"
"YOU"
LMAO
I inhaled so deeply when Steven said "it smells so good" and was so disappointed that I couldn't smell his food 😭
Also, I was surprised he didn't use sesame oil for his scallion pancake / focaccia
This is my comfort series. I always get a sense of happiness and warmness. Steven works so hard and impresses not only his guests, but his audience. Steven goes above and beyond and I love it.
I just finished puppet history and was viciously craving more Watcher content and this hits just the spot :)
another addition to the incredible jon+watcher cinematic universe
i'm sorry whoever edited those pictures of the bread, but i would never know what they look like based on the photo alone. looks like they were taken in heaven what is this lmao
Jon was such an amazing guest, he brought such a chill, positive energy!!
Me: "uhg scallions"
Steven: "I mean who doesn't like scallions?"
Me: "... Yeah no who doesn't like scallions?!"
“I just eat whatever” and shoves it into his mouth I love this man
Aww Steven making people happy with his food is so wholesome
time for my weekly boost of serotonin whilst watching a man lose his mind over steak
As a Filipino, the Jollibee spaghetti was the cherry on top for me * *insert Shane chef's kiss here* *
"i'm smiling for you!" how is jon so adorable 🥺
i love how the root of steven's stress in these videos is inflicted by his own decisions 😅
“Hunger is the best seasoning.” True, so true 😂
I fucking love Jon Yao! Seems like such a sweet and humble dude. No big ego that some other michelin star chefs might have, just appreciates all food whether or not its high quality.
Steven, as a long time fan, and a person with years of kitchen experience, I have to applaud you and say great job! You are picking up the craft of cooking at a fast rate, and this episode is your best work yet :) Keep up the great work!
Steven needs to open his own restaurant so I can eat all of this
"I don't want that kind of kindness, I want them to tear me to pieces" Steven Lim masochist confirmed
Jon's face every time he tries a new dish was delightful and then everyone getting involved was heart warming
Steven: Who boils wagyu?!
Matty Matheson: Hold my consommé
ngl i was suprised with the jollibee spaghetti lmao that was so out of blue 😭 😂
sincerely,
a filipino
It's because Jon had previously mentioned liking Jollibee in the Top 5 Beatdown episode he was a guest on
You can tell Jon is very servant hearted. He wanted to share that food with everyone and that was really sweet. Steven is such a good dude 👏
Steven lim getting spoon fed by a Michelin star chef is a level of luxury I aspire to reach
Steven Lim has magic, what he draws turns to be real and 10x delicious.
Jon Yao is frkn ADORABLE - from the moment he stepped in to try food ❤️❤️
“This is the most I’ve smiled - I’m trying”
the way jon yao is fighting his constant resting face to smile is honestly so sweet
I'm a big fan of Kato (went once before everything closed down), so this combination makes me feel so happy!! Great job with the dish wow
I thought Keith’s episode last week was my favorite one, this one just beat it. I’ve also made that focaccia bread from Claire’s cookbook and my dough did not stretch like that either but it came out delicious
I absolutely love how Watcher stole a bunch of the talent from Buzzfeed with the similar visual style, but with more well thought out content
Eating everything together with carb on carb has such strong Filipino energy (like what do you think Jbee spaghetti is?), I love it.
I don't love watching cooking shows but this one is a gem. Watcher team and steven I love this how
I just realized from this video that Tony is as likeable as Adam.
i just love this series so much 😩 i just find it so sweet and touching that steven puts so much effort into producing the dish, always putting what his friend likes first and remembering all the little details about them 🥰😫😍 can’t wait to watch the next episodes! love from the Philippines ❤️
I really liked Jon, so I'm glad he's back.
Steven might not have a real Michelin Star but he definitely gets a WISHelin Star!
I'd really love to see Steven cook for one of his childhood friends so we can see that Steven Lim Deep Lore and how the chemistry would be different, as opposed to one of Steven's friends who are used to being on camera. But mostly the chance to see baby Steven pictures
Oh, my goodness... you had me just loving you even more when you said, I can almost hear the dough screaming, I'm foccacia! But then you melted my heart even more when you said something like, all good things require hard work, like marriages. You said you didn't know who needed to hear that... and I really truly did! This whole thing you do with food and your friends is so endearing, Steven Lim. That steak looks scrumptious, and so does everything else. Thank you... so very much for the caring that you put into cooking, into the shows, and to people.
There is something deeply satisfying, almost cathartic, watching someone who is incredibly good and passionate about something perform a task and I think that's why I dig the Watcher guys so much. Steven's passion for cooking, stepping out of his comfort zone to basically invent overly complicated dishes for the people in his life he cares about is immensely entertaining because you can see how much he enjoys the process and the desire to get better; to feed the people he cares about stuff they really enjoy. You can find that level of joy and passion in everything they do on the channel.
I had a shitty day, this Definitely made my day 100% better
Why does this make me emotional. Like happy emotional. The passion you have while making food for your friends is contagious. Definitely love these videos. Keep up the great work!
This is honestly such a peaceful and fun show. Very well executed. I need more of Dish Granted in my life.
I just love this series so much! It has everything: Steven stressing out, experimenting, cooking, great food, and happy reactions❤️
