When you’re mixed, it’s a lot easier to say half than breaking it down into 8ths or %.... also you don’t always inherit exactly 50% of each parents DNA, so percentages are hardly ever exactly half but we call it half anyway.
EXACTLY, I've never eaten anything else on any of their lists other than Mc. I've just heard of them, I heard Taco Bell makes you peepeepoopoo, Wendy is sassy and that's about it.
Same in Sweden. I've heard of Wendy because of Twitter and Taco bell because of drunk people, but otherwise it's only McDonalds. We've had McDonalds, Burger King and Subway for ages here and in later years also KFC and Domino's. But our local pizzerias and grills are usually better. As well as our hamburger chain Max.
I live in the US and hadn't heard of half of these. Only the ones on Ryan's list and Popeye's, which is new to my area. In N Out is only on the west coast.
@@Teekalin The point of these brands isn't to be better, it's to be more convenient. Shane really pulled through with repping the midwest. I'm just disappointed that he put Taco Bell instead of the far superior Taco John's. Also, I know it's not fast food, as in having a drive-thru, but Casey's pizza deserves an honorable mention at least.
"List it, baby" - I LOST it. I couldn't breath, I was laughing so hard at the whole exchange.I agree with Jon. I will not go to the taco bell for tacos.
Jon’s like that really chill, laid-back friend you had from high school who‘s just generally fun to be around with hahah hope we get to see more of him in the show
our steak n shake was shut down on an emergency health violation and my town had a candlelit vigil in the parking lot. you dont go there for the fine dining.
"Is Steak N Shake a staple in the midwest?", Oh Ryan Steak N Shake is nearly as common here as Walmart. 99.9% of towns here in Indiana has one. Speaking of what Indiana has, I'm pretty sure my town I'm currently living at has EVERY SINGLE ONE of the restaurants on Shane's list. The midwestern is strong in this one.
Steak N Shake is also all across Illinois. Of course Chicago has everything, but once you get outside the magnetic pull of the big city, Steak N Shake reigns supreme (it was founded in Champaign, IL, btw). And it is pretty good.
As someone who grew up in the midwest, Shane's list made me very happy. Especially Steak-n-Shake. I also love Jack in the Box, but I think the one near me is particularly good because I've been to a few weird ones that I didn't like as much (the bacon and swiss buttery jack is unmatched)
Ryan: (something like) you've never done the chefs kiss? John: no- Ryan: sent it out to table 3 John: no Shane: but if you had to use one would you have used it- John: no Shane: are you gonna save it for your top 2? John: no Shane: you're not gONNA DO ONE? John: no.
honestly though, we can all admit taco bell sucks but jack in the box's tacos aren't half bad, they're not authentic in any way shape or form but for what they are.. could be worse.
I don't think he hates taco bell but what he is saying that there is a lot of fresh and authentic taco's all over LA and you still choose to eat on a fast-food chain.
As someone in a relationship with a girl from Mexico, Taco Bell just hits so different than the authentic stuff. Sorry to say but... mexican traditional burritos are so boring in comparison
Is it weird that I think five guys deserves this place? Maybe jersey mikes. Taco Bell is something you are disappointed about but you know they are the champions. They fuck everyone else up. Go to vermont. When you don’t have those things you gotta see how fucked your life is. Love you all. Have a good one!
The Cheesy Gordita Crunch love in this episode brings me so much joy. I remember when they weren't a regular menu item and you had to wait for them to come back...dark days lol
I appreciate Shane’s takes. Some of these I’d never even heard of - like Yoshinoya, which is only in California. And others I’d heard of before but never had (Jack in the Box, In N Out, Jolibee, Church’s).
I've crunched some numbers, I've done the math. The conclusion I have found is that Ryan is 112.5% human. He's half Japanese, half Mexican, and one eighth Filipino. I deduce that the extra 12.5% humanity of Ryan is explained as the traces of Ricky Goldsworth.

When you’re mixed, it’s a lot easier to say half than breaking it down into 8ths or %.... also you don’t always inherit exactly 50% of each parents DNA, so percentages are hardly ever exactly half but we call it half anyway.
Jeff Madrigal this makes me want to do that 23and Me test now. I’m Mexican and always get asked if I’m Filipino.
I am French, German, English, Irish, Scottish, Italian, and Native American. I don't know the exact numbers so I just call myself a mutt.
Shane: "Carseat Headrest, Adam Driver is a fan"
Me: Is this a pun or a real thing?
I NEVER THOUGHT ABOUT THAT
Real, there's a video of Adam Driver and Channing Tatum dancing to car seat headrest
i laughed out loud at this comment. incredible.
If it's a pun, Shane's reached maximal chaos
Lol I definitely thought it was just a pun
As a european watcher this feels like: hm, hm, never heard of if, hm, oh McDonald's I know that, hm, hm
EXACTLY, I've never eaten anything else on any of their lists other than Mc. I've just heard of them, I heard Taco Bell makes you peepeepoopoo, Wendy is sassy and that's about it.
@@Joyful_Jo_ in my town we don't even got a McDonald's or KFC.
I guarantee there are 50 other restaurants that have better food around any of these fast food chains, but you can get a burger in like a minute at mcdonalds and eat it on the way home. No sitting required. And it's a fraction of the price. Although I have heard that mcdonalds and other fast food chains are better in europe than in the US because corporations haven't destroyed your taste buds or your bodies yet. Something about higher standards.
Shane being this excited about pasta drive throughs? Someone's gotta introduce this guy to Fazoli's. Also Ryan not realizing Yoshinoya is only in CA is hilarious
Ryan Bergara is one and one-eighth of a person
Maths is HaRd
It’s just how much he gives
how DOES this math work? Can you be 7/8 of a race/ethnicity? Or is there something I'm missing
he's 3/8th mexican if i recall, so just less than half
@@chilib4325 He's just joking, due to Ryan saying he's half Mexican and half Japanese, yet also saying he's 1/8 Filipino.
Shane's list is full of bangers. He did not tell one lie.
I nearly cried that Stake'N'Shake was only #5, that was like my entire childhood food
@@akijabarosa7882 the one near me is kinda garbage tbh (but its also one of the few california locations they have so maybe they just don't care that much.)
Molly Borden Love Shane repping the mid west
Culver’s is straight fire tho
I did a fist pump at Culver's
So
So good
Literally sitting here eating a Culver's butterburger and malt as Shane mentioned it. Bless you, Midwestern King 🙏👌
Em Couvion the root beer at culvers is life changing
Shane really pulled through with repping the midwest. I'm just disappointed that he put Taco Bell instead of the far superior Taco John's. Also, I know it's not fast food, as in having a drive-thru, but Casey's pizza deserves an honorable mention at least.
culver's frozen custard? absolutely invigorating. i LOVE that shit
@@thetrueglasses The cookie dough option is the BEST. drip a curd in and you're in heaven.
@@artemisbeasty196 i'm only first gen midwestern, i keep my curds to ketchup and spoons to custard
"List it, baby" - I LOST it. I couldn't breath, I was laughing so hard at the whole exchange.I agree with Jon. I will not go to the taco bell for tacos.
Jon’s like that really chill, laid-back friend you had from high school who‘s just generally fun to be around with hahah hope we get to see more of him in the show
Marynil Villagracia I went to jr high and elementary with him at a private school. He was the hilarious trouble maker 😂😂
@@sunghan2401 Okay wtf hahahhahahaha glad he found something to be passionate about outside of troublemaking hahah
our steak n shake was shut down on an emergency health violation and my town had a candlelit vigil in the parking lot. you dont go there for the fine dining.
My town’s got shut down too!
American people do love a candle lit vigil
Steak and Shake two minutes from my new house. I’ll never go...heard nothing but BAD about that joint....
@@timprescott4634 its good my dude. the health violations add flavor
Ours should be shut down, but we all still eat there oops
when the words "Mcsurf and turf" left Jon's mouth you could actually see Ryans life change right before his eyes
The midwestern is strong in this one.
my town in indiana LOST its steak and shake recently and I'm so sad:( i love their fries
@@carolinemartin488 Yours too? Damn.
Yes their fries SLAP
Steak N Shake is also all across Illinois. Of course Chicago has everything, but once you get outside the magnetic pull of the big city, Steak N Shake reigns supreme (it was founded in Champaign, IL, btw). And it is pretty good.
i live in wisconsin and have never even had it before!! i thought it was more of a southern thing until now 😅
I live in Florida and we have stake and shake
I like how Shane and Ryan are arguing the whole time and Jon is just disappointed.
When shane paused because ryan interrupted about guacamole it felt like a teacher pausing because the class is rowdy
I'm unexpectedly really enjoying looking at the boys' handwriting
Maddie Gogal shane has the quintessential all-caps dad handwriting
Ami Selvarajaguru lmao I thought it looked familiar, my dad writes the same way
As someone who grew up in the midwest, Shane's list made me very happy. Especially Steak-n-Shake. I also love Jack in the Box, but I think the one near me is particularly good because I've been to a few weird ones that I didn't like as much (the bacon and swiss buttery jack is unmatched)
I think we might be best friends. Only JITB deep-cutters know and love bacon and swiss buttery jack and tacos
I might need to leave the Midwest more often because I didn't know Steak n Shake was regional...
Ryan: (something like) you've never done the chefs kiss?
John: no-
Ryan: sent it out to table 3
John: no
Shane: but if you had to use one would you have used it-
John: no
Shane: are you gonna save it for your top 2?
John: no
Shane: you're not gONNA DO ONE?
John: no.
18:34 That face of disappointment deserves an honorary Mexican citizenship
honestly though, we can all admit taco bell sucks but jack in the box's tacos aren't half bad, they're not authentic in any way shape or form but for what they are.. could be worse.
@@IamTealeaf respeto, i haven't tried neither of them, because i only eat tacos from my mamá
@@CarlosAlvarado-xt3mf don't bother with taco bell you'll be dissapointed, and i get jack in the box because im broke and live alone lol
John: Opinions are ok!
Shane and ryan: taco bell
John: no.
I don't think he hates taco bell but what he is saying that there is a lot of fresh and authentic taco's all over LA and you still choose to eat on a fast-food chain.
John = Truth
@@skjor1989 fr and there pretty cheap too
As someone in a relationship with a girl from Mexico, Taco Bell just hits so different than the authentic stuff. Sorry to say but... mexican traditional burritos are so boring in comparison
taco bell is not the best though
1. As a Midwesterner, Culver's SLAPS. Absolutely delicious.
2. As an African American, you will only find a Church's in the hood, and it is delicious.
I'll drive past 30 Popeyes to get to a Churchs.
I love when Ryan and Shane agree on something and the other person sitting there just nods their head in disappointment
Three towel covered lawn chairs: a fascinating insight into Ryan bergara's interior design capabilities
They might as well have called this show "Shane and Ryan Argue" and I am SO here for it.
As a midwesterner, I am literally taking notes about Shanes opinions. Which is something I have never said in my life.
Jon is so cute. I love when he hides behind his sign because he just can’t handle the boys takes anymore 😂
Blade Runner ok then?
@Blade Runner chill, not everyone is going to have the same preferences as you :P
@Blade Runner they're. just relax brooo
I loved that toooooo! Also his judgement about Taco Bell. “Are you guys getting paid for this??? I don’t want to be here anymore.”
The fact that Steven was there out of frame the whole time

I've crunched some numbers, I've done the math. The conclusion I have found is that Ryan is 112.5% human. He's half Japanese, half Mexican, and one eighth Filipino. I deduce that the extra 12.5% humanity of Ryan is explained as the traces of Ricky Goldsworth.
