I love this dude man, his gear isn't all highspeed low drag gimmicky shit. It's just a plain ol' blackhawk belt with standard plastic clips and good ol' fashion pouches.
I was thinking this video is interesting until he brought out the hair gel. Like you would completely have enough time to style a Curly Fade in the middle of combat right?
2 canteens of Mountain Dew strapped to your left side. PS4 or XBox controller strapped on your right side or whatever side your dominant arm is. Two bags of spicy Cheetos. Remember to zip tie b/c if your controller gets wet it's all over.
I ran a night shift at an IPOC for about a month. Every so often these dudes would show up with a bad guy or two. No name tapes or rank, just blood type and callsign. They would bring a beer (which was INSANE to me at the time) and make fun of, I shit you not, how short our hair was. We would laugh and bullshit and do the paperwork that had to be done. It probably wasn’t much to these guys, but for the younger guys I was in charge of, it literally meant the world. I don’t think any of the team guys know how rough that month had been, or that we had lost two really decent guys on one of the days that they happened to come by. We all felt awful about having been assigned to the detention facility inside the fob. (The one near beyji). These guys really made thing better. You guys really are Special. Thank You.
Tactical Rifleman, you guys should do a video on proper smoke deployment.... Different uses for smoke and proper deployment based upon wind and terrain..... I think this would be a really interesting video.... Thumbs up if you agree so they see it gents....
These are good set-up videos. No BS, just stuff that works. Gotta love a good old fashioned dummy cord. It always frustrated me to no end that Big Army was so against individual set-up of gear. Didn't take long once we were on ground for people to realize what I had been trying to tell them for months.
Its not just for your hair idgiots. What do u think happens to your frogman bits when you leave 42°f degree water and hit the beach at -15°f? Beach Shrink is no joke!
It's funny how most people tend to buy the most expensive stuff and fill their war belts and plate carriers with all kinds of stuff, all camo matched. But the guys who really operate in combat zones, only carry basic stuff, not camo matched. Great channel, keep posting more stuff !!!
I think he was very clear that belt is his range setup. not operation. and that suggest that is his own gear not issued. If it is issued gear I'm pretty sure it is camo matched and the "expensive" shit stuff as if it is standard issue item for Special operation companies yank up the price on them.
Maybe, but in my day if you had camo pouches (Before we were given the S.P.E.A.R.) or pockets on your sleeves you/we did it ourselves, and 'operational' stuff rarely "matched" nor was parts if not most wasn't even NATO issue stuff. Seems like everything is so high speed that it is also internationally recognized. The old guys I learned from carried old French and Czech gear.
Yeah. It's funny how at least for me I'm extremely autistic about the fit and function of all the things I have on my belt. But Seals use the cheapest off the shelf walmart shit.
@@TacGeek89 Actually that is not correct, you got issued stuff all the time that didn't match. You run with what works for you, not by what matches. When you say expensive stuff, you would be shocked at how much stuff you end up buying for yourself because either you weren't issued it or the stuff you were issued, sucked.
I like the simplicity of your kits. Too many people load down their gear with non essentials or think that because there is still room that they need more kit. Great video, thank you.
Just to make a point to my son on a BSA backpacking trip, I filled his pack with so many stupid things, and it was all because of experience in the ARMY, Now he checks his pack like three times before he goes out. The best was when i asked for the small AX to chop wood, and he just lowered his head and said WUD that be in my pack too? LOL
Thumbs up for anyone who actually ever had their dump pouch filled with rocks, twigs, gum wrapping, casings or dip by their buddies when he wasn't looking.
I prefer an all mesh dump pouch, sand and water passes right through with no problems. Not a fan of drop leg holsters, they are moving back and forth with your leg when running and if you are trying to draw the pistol it makes it more difficult and takes longer to acquire. I use those kitchen food vacuum sealers for my first aid, they are super strong and air tight. Spray your kit with scotch guard and it will help repel the water. There is a lot more to be said here.
Good suggestions I like the emphasis on securing gear. Won't be swimming in the ocean with it but good to know anyway. I prefer a canteen to a bladder also for a number of reasons(other than for rinsing out after using a diving rebreather), like ease of cleaning, ease of filing from available water sources, etc.
Hey thanks for sharing. I always like to see others set up. Not only for the functionality and mentality aspect but for the various threat situations as well.

It's refreshing to hear someone speak about making practical choices as opposed to the usual brand name, status quo, blindly issued and copied setups. We can all appreciate standards and a common "list of items" to help us remember what to prepare and pack or put on, but often times making do is necessary and individual analysis can result in better gear choices. I dare say, that going light and stripping away pieces of gear or replacing with something lighter or that works better has been a practice going back to WW one and probably earlier. Too often the implication is that one "needs" and "must have" this or that item or a particular brand or they are considered ineffective. Situations and scenarios vary as much as the individual. I recall my father mentioning that in Vietnam, Marines would prefer water to extra ammo. Thanks for sharing and providing a different perspective.
Can you do a video on PRL (personal retention lanyard), its uses, its applications that YOU have used, and why you would run it on your gun belt.....? Like the one pictured at 8:19 Thanks?
Which version of the SOG SEAL Knife are you carrying on your belt? Do you carry it because it's what you were issued or do you carry it because you just like it? Do you use the same one (or at least the same version) during maritime operations or do you carry something completely different for that?

Great info. Kinda worried seeing all of those red tags in the background. Who is in charge of the tools?
Don't tell me, budget cuts.......
Lots of back to back courses... with students beating on old guns. Thanks for watching, TR
@@TacticalRifleman No such thing as an old gun, they all need some TLC. Do they receive any training on maintaining and repairing the firearms?
Is the hair gel scented, you know like coconut breeze or strawberry daiquiri ..?
Can you do a video on PRL (personal retention lanyard), its uses, its applications that YOU have used, and why you would run it on your gun belt.....? Like the one pictured at 8:19
Thanks?
That hairgel bit is rather funny. Anti-bacterial handgel might be useful. It burns wickedly.
What kind of personal retention lanyard are you using I saw it in the click bait pic and you never covered it in the video.
Great video man! Basic! That’s how I roll!
Which version of the SOG SEAL Knife are you carrying on your belt? Do you carry it because it's what you were issued or do you carry it because you just like it? Do you use the same one (or at least the same version) during maritime operations or do you carry something completely different for that?
Just saw this comment was 2 years ago, but either way, it's a seal pup elite. Was interested to see that's the blade he chose
