    A great explanation of why his belt is set up the way it is. Good stuff. The battle belt carries bare necessities and what you need access to quickly. I can appreciate the baclava pouch for quick and easy access.
    Love the Israeli bandage on belt. I keep an IFAK and one tourniquet on my belt (I keep a tourniquet and specific medical kit on every level of my load out and in personal vehicle).

      Complete different sizes of forces
      The IDF has roughly 634,000 personnel (active and reserve) total
      While the US has closer to 2 million total (2.234 million if you want to be accurate)

      was in IDF, and security.
      was not in special force, but I believe they don't go around with bullet in the barrel.
      and in exercise, they have heavy trigger discipline where they enter the finger in the trigger guard only when they are about to shoot.
      and never before, not even in fun shooting at the range, its very enforced and soldier understand the reason why it exist.
      let alone SF.
      its all about muscle memory, if you serious in day to day and be careful to enter finger in trigger guard only when you about to shoot, when in OP, you will just do the same without thinking about it.
      if you are not serious and sometime put the finger in the trigger even when you are not about to shoot, to take off the gun of the holster, or in training, then you can be sure, if you don't think about it in OP (and you won't think about it because you are concentrated on other thing in OP, one of them is the eventual enemy in every corner)
      then yeah either you will wound yourself, or will get wounded because you are not concentrated on the target but about preserving yourself because of the lack of seriousness in training.
      learned that from an Israeli SF. so I'm pretty sure that why he don't shoot himself and can afford those kind of holster...
      but there is accidents in IDF, just not special forces, (like lotar, which is probably what this unit is, or other units of this level)
      because of the seriousness they got about it, (but that come from other accident in the past, that IDF learned from).

    I can never understand why people use the drop leg holster. To each their own... I really wanted to like it. But even with two straps around your leg the gun and holster are constantly swinging around as you run unless you make it so tight it starts to cut off circulation. Then you have this heavy weight on your thigh of one leg and no weight on the thigh of the other leg, which really throws your stride off when sprinting.
    Then the drop leg puts the gun so low you can’t just put your arm down and draw the gun, you have to lean ever so slightly to get a firm grip before drawing and then you have a longer draw stroke to get it up to your chest and then out into shooting position. And if you need level 2 retention forget it, you really have to drop your shoulder to get the lever with your thumb.
    With a plate carrier that sits up high, there is no reason to run a drop leg.
    This is just my own personal preference. I always try to keep my holster as high up to the belt line as possible. If my plate carrier is getting in the way of my draw, I’ll do a mid ride to drop the gun down a couple of inches, but for me it was really tough to use a full drop leg on the thigh.

    • @georgegiorgio
      @georgegiorgio 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      When you wear body armor and have battle belt with gears, using drop leg is logical, as it increases mobility in the battlefield

    • @agmsmith4079
      @agmsmith4079 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@georgegiorgio ... I disagree... the drop leg DECREASES mobility in my opinion. just from my own experiences... in a gun fight when you are running for your life from cover to cover bounding up to the enemy, having that thing flailing around on your leg makes it hard to run fast. You end up doing a kind of modified skip so that thing isn’t sliding and flapping around on your leg. Even with two straps around you leg it still sucks. A mid ride is low enough to clear my side plates when I draw my pistol but high enough to not get in the way when running. I prefer it right up on my hip but the mid ride works as well for me. I also try to keep my right side clear so I can get a clean draw. I don’t have tons of stuff molle’d on my carrier right above my holster for this very reason. But again, like I said in my OP, it’s personal preference and this is my own personal opinion.

    • @bjreisman
      @bjreisman 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Another thing: If you wear knee pads, then it is virtually impossible to wear the drop leg holster because they pinch the skin between the kneepad and holster. Of course I have one, but I virtually never use it because of this problem. @@agmsmith4079

      Bla bla bla. Arabs are not the indigenous to "Palestine". Arabs came from Saudi Peninsula. It's all well documented. Take a freaking look at the map and see how much of land, Arabs conquered. Isn't it enough?? Al Aqsa mosque was built on the ruins of our Temple. Did you know that? Jerusalem wasn't built by Arabs. Palestinian Arabs don't allow Jews to live amongst them. Israeli Jews, on the other hand allow 2 MILLIONS of Arabs to live among them. See the difference??
