Get Upside, I use this every time I fill up and just let it earn until Christmas time and cash out. It works and once you get used to it, it’s an easy habit.

I’ve done overdrive gears 3:34 on other manufacturers products. I found you don’t notice any difference in trail use. I did notice better climbing ability on the long steep rock climbs at our local crawl spot. I’m surprised you still have the stock tires and rims.first mod I did.
4.19 tires look ridiculous on that 1/8 scale box truck
I like massive od in my comp rigs but dislike in trail rigs .
Anyways
Nice they should have under driven instead with such low axle ratio’s maybe portal helps em.
Very interesting test. But I'm still not convinced of the overdrive in general. What realy would be cool is if someone puts a switchable gear on one of the axle to cjange the output rpms.
If you want that you could get the vanquish phoenix. it has switch able overdrive in the transmission, a realy neat feature!
@@rchobbynl thanks for the tip, I'll check this car out. But just for making my bad English clear, I don't meant a reduction gear for both axles like in most of the cars.
@RC Birds the Phoenix has adjustable over drive. Overdrive helps tremendously.
Yes it's definitely worth it in comp trucks not so much trail truck's,but ye what your asking for is called the vanquish phoenix and it's done through the transmission as the other person mentioned
Okay, you got me. Every free minute I researched the Vanquish today. Great car, want to have one. It seems as if it's quiet unknow here in Europe. But this is just question 4 or 5. First there are other things to do.
But thank you all for this value tip.
What brass did you put on it and where did you get the overdrive dears and rear sway bar?
Dig is always a better option unless you’re over 25% in OD
This video before today. It’s clean in this one.
You can't actually "feel" what an rc car is doing. It's all in your mind.
I have a 2.4ghz chip in my brain that connects to the esc, I can sense the loads of the truck.
@@ExocagedRC 😉🤣
If you pay enough attention to your adjustments you'll notice the differences enough for it to translate as feeling it. Lol
Nice to see your back on your game today.. get some rest we know whet happiness when you have to much fun and stay up editing and Rcing 🙌.
Gibt es das nicht auch für den Axial SCX6?
Hello! Please show us the „TREAL OD“ Parts after this test - drive in a clean condition. May be pinion scrapes the ring gear holder(silver metal part). May be the ring gear should be more to the „left side“(as shown),because the pinion is radial bigger than before…(Sorry for my bad english)Have a nice day, wish you all the best!
I've done 4 Treal complete axles and two of their overdrive gear sets. I have a lot of shims for setting pinion to ring gear mesh. All of their overdrive gear sets had to be shimmed. That resistance was the pinion gear being to tight into the ring gear. I shimmed at the spool bearings to move the ring gear slightly away from the pinion gear. You can also shim the pinion gear as well, but that requires a bit more shim work. I am referencing all Gen 8 AXE axles, as I have two Gen 8 AXE's. From the looks of it, the Gen 9 spool and those OD Treal gears looked to be the same. I don't think Redcat changed this part of the axle at all. I know it's an RC, but I am just OCD when it comes to that kind of stuff. Probably won't hurt anything though.
I didn't think od made a big difference so, I went back to stock. It was suddenly apparent just how much od was helping. Thanks for the video!
I overdrive (fr) & underdrive(rr) on my axe. It was horrible. Removed under & it would go anywhere!
We had the same fitment issue on a gen8 with the Treal OD. It needs shimmed or a diff thickness bearing to fit proper so,took it back out.The Redcat umderdrive came with a shim and tje gear mesh was good.
I have a Gen 8 with the treal overdrive, definitely helps with a tighter turning radius. They also sell an underdrive for the rear if you are looking for a little more overdrive. Always enjoy the daily videos!!!
👍😁
Need to get that 2 speed for my son's truck for on trails .
I love my O.D. on my predator build 🤘
Are these the same as the ones in the Gen8?
I like 30-45% over drive. And I run them on the trail all of the time. The only thing I've seen is faster gear wear in the axles
Not an issue with Hudy Graphite grease
@JJM I'll have to get some and try it. I've used about every kind of the most popular stuff. Right now I'm running red n tacky. It seems to be doing pretty good. I also like it because I can get it in a spray can at Walmart for a few bucks.
@@rc-daily red and tacky is real decent. Hudy runs a bit slicker and lasts a bit longer. A little goes a LONG way with that stuff
Turning precision was why I put OD portal gears in my 1/10 & 1/18 Capras. A world of difference was had.
