Mercedes team boss Toto Wolff recently dropped a bombshell, revealing that his split with Lewis Hamilton wasn’t exactly smooth sailing.
In a candid interview with Sky Sports F1, Wolff described Hamilton’s departure as an “unfriendly divorce,” shedding light on the internal chaos caused by the timing and nature of Hamilton’s decision.

Clearly, they knew what might happen because of the short-term contract they offered, plus with bad car. They thought LH would stay even though they were already thinking about moving on from LH. So I don't understand why AMG and Toto is bitter about this.....
Toto is being disengenuos. Sir Lewis has been asking for his input to be respected, which it wasn't. We know. He thought Sir Lewis was washed and wasn't willing to accede to his demands and EXPERT knowledge. Ferrari got a good one. George will never get close to Sir Lewis in ability or class.

What I hear is that LH doubted himself and that Toto knew that and claimed he was trying to motivate him, only to then offer him a 1-year contract.... Moreover, he started treating him as a second driver by sharing his data and tire wear information with George Russel to give him the best possible tools to win. Even at the expense of LH who he knew was struggling with self-doubt..... kind of disturbing … happy that LH moved to Ferrari. I think that is what is keeping him going at the moment.

The departure begun when toto was crowd surfing after lewis was robbed his historic 8th title!
Mercedes will go back to be a mediocre team it was before lewis joined them in 2013!

If you had given Lewis an ambassador role to mentor the next generation of drivers ! Or was Lewis not the face of Mercedes?
Those saying Lewis doubted himself, willingly or unwittingly misunderstand how such doubt is expressed. Hamilton has never doubted his abilities, he doubted his decision-making as he knew he'd been betrayed by those he'd trusted. When you know you are the best at what you do, you must respect your abilities and place them at the disposal of those who are prepared to honour them.
Toto began by talking about how Lewis's decision affected Mercedes share prices..
Mercedes have been messing with Lewis's game since before bottas was there. Toto wolf and them guys prioritize inferior drivers over Lewis winning his 8 championship in 2021.
Toto never fights for Lewis for example in 2021 which will go down as one of the biggest fix in sports.
Lewis did more for Mercedes than any other driver and they were not happy to give him a decent deal but happy to offer Max an open cheque.
That is not the way you treat the driver who put your team in this high position in the sport.

With Toto Wolff what you see is not what you get , Lewis has been under paid for years
