    This is an incredibly EPIC video! Exercise Red Flag is the pre-eminent annual air combat training exercise run by the USA. The Royal Air Force and the Royal Australian Air Force join the United States Marines, Air Force and Navy outside of Las Vegas at Nellis Air Base. Seeing our allies working together literally gave us chills and the excitement and pride we felt is absolutely off the charts! We are so blessed to be part of the World's BEST Militaries! Our allies are no different than our own soldiers. This is from the last couple weeks and we hope you learned something with us. When nations join together, it's one of the most beautiful, inspiring sights. As always, THANK YOU to ALL Active Military and Veterans of the USA and ALL of our allies! Thanks to each of YOU for watching! If you enjoy our content, please consider subscribing to our channel, it is the BEST way to support our channel and it's FREE! Also, please click the Like button. Thank you ladies for your Joint Forces reaction. We live 60 klms from RAAF Base Amberley, home of the C-17A Globemaster III, F/A 18F Super Hornets, KC-30A Multi Role Tankers and soon to be home of the F-35A Lightning and the EA-18G Growlers. It's been 5 years since we were in Las Vegas for the 16/17 New Year celebrations.....standing out front of The Bellagio Casino lake at 11.50 pm with the fountain going off like gun shots in tune to the National Anthem of the USA....Bit of a WOW moment...Best wishes from Australia.

      I watch a heck of a lot of ADVChina (find it really interesting), with China they tend to hugely overstate their capabilities it's almost laughable apparently.
      It would be a hugely difficult thing since they're so big, but nah in the end they'd stand no chance at all it's really just a load of chest beating and not much more than that on China's part.
      Mostly if there's some major project not even to do with things concerning the military, there's tons of corruption where the group to carry something out or the heads of it will just pocket the money and the funder's get nothing in return.
      Hope you're both super well, take care

      Fun facts Australia and America have fought side by side since 4th July 1918. American troops were getting training by Australian soldiers. Australian general sir John Monash planned a new style of warfare using tanks artillery infantry and war planes to attack the German trenches at Hamel. This type of warfare would in ww2 be called blitzkrieg. Originally there was to be 10 companies of us troops placed under Australian command, but black jack pershing removed all but 4 companies as thecus government did not want us forces under non us command. This battle led to an all out collapse of German forces over the next 4 months.

    This is awesome. I was a member of the Royal Australian Air Force in the 1990's, one of the few (back then) female avionics technicians who worked on our F-111 aircarft. Back then we did exercises often with Singapore but also regular exercises with Canada and New Zealand finding submarines somewhere in the pacific ocean. I loved my time in the RAAF and sometimes wish I could return to that life. To see our closest allies of the UK and the USA working together with us like this to help defeat a very real threat in our part of the world is just so awesome. When we work together we get the job done. Awesome reaction and video ladies.

    Just reading comments a gentleman mentioned low flying in the UK, in the 80’s a friend and I camped on a hill above Hawes in the Yorkshire Dales. After a heavy night, I was young and daft. I had just woke up and was crawling out of the 2 person tent only to see a jet trainer flying below me and me looking down into the cockpit. What a way to wake up.

    Exercises like this are so important to all involved, one of the reasons the British harriers were so dominant in the Falklands conflict despite the Argentines having more aircraft was that the British pilots were so well trained and drilled, they had pitted their aircraft against multiple other types in exercises like this and had learnt where they had the advantage and where they didn’t.

    • @SirHilaryManfat
      @SirHilaryManfat ปีที่แล้ว

      To be fair to the Argentine pilots, their planes were massively outdated (I seem to remember they were relics from the 1950's/60's). Also the Harrier's VTOL system enabled the R.A.F. pilots to essentially outmaneuver the Argentine planes easily. But yes, the R.A.F. pilots were and still are extremely well trained and drilled.

    • @Jabber-ig3iw
      @Jabber-ig3iw ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@SirHilaryManfat not that out dated, the USMC were still using the Skyhawks the Argentines used until the mid 80s( when they were replaced by harriers) and the French built Mirage III and super Etendard were far from out dated.

      @Animalhouse - I was about to make same point the modernity of the Argentine planes and weapon systems, which were far from old. Also they were operating from home bases with support crews etc rather miles from home and having to make do and mend. It was also British VTOL ingenuity when no-one else in the world had developed it. So any advantage in this was completely home made.

    I served with the Royal Navy in the Falklands War in 1982. I can assure that I DID fear the enemy. War is petrifying for everyone. Dealing with that fear and still operating to a high level of effectiveness is the key. I respect my enemy too. Like us, they are just serving the requirements of our masters who choose who to go to war with and why. 'Ours is not to reason why' is the mantra. Self explanatory.
    I hate war. No glory as far as I am concerned. Far too many wars and far too many people in power creating them for the innocent combatants and civilians to pay the price for.

The aircraft in question was the Blackburn Buccaneer, they had to fly at 20 feet instead of 10 feet as they left dust trails in the desert. Wow. The 'dust trails' were the public excuse. The real reason they had to fly higher was the Buccs were so low the US radar systems couldn't see them until it was too late.

They took it so seriously some even had copies of "Pravda" tucked in their flight suits!!! We had a unit on base called VASF (Visiting Aircraft Servicing Flight) and during exercises they would be responsible for looking after any visiting combat squadrons. The US F-4 crews and the VASF teams used to love working together! Their "scramble" times were legendary, not gonna tell you them here as no-one would believe me... but they ALWAYS played for real and took shortcuts that in peacetime were a huge no-no. VASF were always buzzin after exercises (a really good friend of mine was on the team and used to tell me stuff but my lips are sealed!). Absolutely great video and reaction... I love the diversity of what you cover! Take care...

    I'm a Brit and I love our Typhoons. One of the most agile planes ever built. In a dogfight its can give even the mighty Raptor a run for it's money (However the 'phoon is not stealth the Rap is.). However I'm not trying to say what's best. As long as we have the best equipment, the best allies and friends and the best tactics we can be prepared in case things get bad in the world. :)

    They do Red Flag in the Northern Territory, Australia at Kathrein too. They do it here because there are very few people so they can do things they wouldn't normally do over populated areas.

      @@peterellis1307 They have done a few since then. One last year. I don't think these are related to Exercises. They are separate.
      On the first Combined Exercise back in the 70's Kangaroo 1. the Enterprise was the big thing & brand new. A RAAF F-111 sunk her at just over 1 minute into the Exercise. They had to do a restart.

    Thank you for that sincere thank you to veterans I am a veteran of The Australian army when I came back I didn't have anybody there to pick me up or thank me. The weirdest thing is I arrived at the same time is my sister and she got all the thanks the praises all the interactions it was like I didn't even exist And it's been like that ever since I'm watching this 2 weeks out of our ANZAC Day where I March every year, will actually I get pushed in a wheelchair by my 3 boys at our parade and go to fawn service. Thank you for that sincere thank you and to all of the veterans and all the servicemen and women that are still in this active service for the sacrifices that all of us have made. Thank you too your father for his service.

    You should check out Bravo November, a legendary RAF Chinook helicopter that has fought in pretty much every conflict the British have been involved in since the Falklands. It’s just been retired and put in a museum but it’s an absolute legend.

    Damn ladies that was awesome though due to the content a bit limited in what they could film & share. Aussie here, I was surprised at the lump of pride I felt seeing the kangaroo inside the RAAF decal. Only a couple of hours from where I live is a HUGE military base called Shoalwater Bay where several times a year joint military exercises are held between Australian, American, Singaporean & lately Japanese forces. In the small country town town I live in you often see long military convoys during these exercises. Keep up the great work & content 👍

      I went to school in Yeppoon; the road passing the school was one of the main routes to Shoalwater. Very often we’d see convoys of equipment rolling past. We’d know the games were about to start. :)

    I read that during the gulf war an RAF refuelling tanker plane which was patrolling outside the combat zone broke with procedure to enter the combat zone to re-fuel a USAF fighter which didn't have enough fuel to make it back to the rendezvous point. That's teamwork 👍

    • @abarratt8869
      @abarratt8869 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Also during Gulf War 1 (the 1990's one), the RAF still had Victor tankers. Now, the victor has always looked, well, strange, and for many USAF pilots their first time seeing one was when they joined up to sup fuel from Victor.
      Apparently, that started some chat about the amazing stealth tanker that the Brits had, why hadn't the USAF got one? Nope - 1950s aircraft!

    As a very proud British Dad, my son flew the VC10 in-flight refuelling tankers with the RAF for 17 Years. Over Afghanistan, Iraq and Lybia. The VC10 was the aircraft replaced by the Voyager that this video featured. So proud of his work, even though these guys say when you ask them, "Its just a job" Yeh!
