THANK YOU all for the Super Thanks $ and Buy Me a Coffee donations, I really appreciate your support!
A reason that stands out to me as to why you get good video engagement is that you are a very good story teller and your voice inflections are not annoying.
LEARN ABÒUT MALAYSIA 😂THE PEOPLE ASK THE 3 RASES COS WE KNOW ENGLISH. BE CURIOS ABOUT THE COUNTRY MAN!!
Perks of coming from western country, you still can enter SEA country even when you are broke.. for us SEA country ppl, we need to show proof that we can support ourself financially before we can enter western country...
Yea that is true, especially USA makes it quite difficult for people to visit and especially to stay long term
@@benfisherminyes and especially being Jewish but not too obvious to the local population because you look white.
that is a really valid point 😂
Not only that. EVEN with legal visas, proof of financial support AND return flight ticket. They treat you like shit and you might still get detain and refuse entry.
Very true!
Malaysia is super underrated. Also Malaysians love watching videos about people speaking on Malaysia 😅
Malaysians love validation😂
Yes I agree becos we are proud being Malaysian.
@@zaki-pq1pseveryone loves it not just malaysians
I think it's underrated as well. I'm glad the Malaysians love the videos!
we love comments too n at least we knew what are we lacking of
Ben, I think you should stick to conversations and various topics in Malaysia. We Malaysians have watched too many travel videos, but videos like this really show us a different perspective on how travelers view our country. Nevertheless, I wish you all the best on your journey to 20K subs. We're always here to support you, mate.
I’m loving the look of Malaysia and I love Malaysian people here in NZ I hope to move in 6 months

ENJOY MALAYSIA! Most beautiful country in Southeast Asia!
I watched this in a hotel room in Penang with just a few hours remaining until I fly back to the UK, I feel dread thinking about leaving for the flight home!
My English neighbour lives on social benefits from UK (illegal apparently) but he's been here for decades. - he recently passed though at 75. He was doing the visa run every three months.
As a Malaysian I'm always interested in what other people think of Malaysia and I enjoy your view and sharing of your experiences being well traveled. Keep it up.
Would be a nice country if it wasn’t antisemitic.
Awesome I'm glad you're enjoying it!
English language is compulsory in school as the second language. Nevermind the language, M'sians are the nicest people in the world
Yea true, the locals speak great English here and are some of the friendliest
Taiwan is the friendliest actually.. But only helps if you know mandarin else tough to converse with them.
They are only if you are the right race. If you are Chinese, Indian or black, prepare to face a lot of racism
@@benfishermin ban this bytme pls
@@benfisherminThat's why locals watch your videos, not only they understand but mostly are proud of their country. So the curiosity is, what this new guy gonna say about "our country"
There is an air of honesty in your vlogs Ben, in which it kept me glued on to your long vlogs. It feels like I’m strolling along with you while you talk. Keep it up!
Awesome to hear that, thanks for following along
Yes very true
It’s great your channel start to pick up in Malaysia but please don’t take advantage of the people’s kindness. Malaysians are known to be kind and give something out of sincerity. However, i need to put this out as i’ve seen many westerners only tend to receive and boast about how they are being treated kindly as if they are entitled. I’m happy to see you enjoy Malaysian’s hospitality but unfortunately, I visited western countries and don’t receive warm treatment as a foreigner unless they see I have money (wearing brands, etc.). I hope you learn something from Malaysians and practice it as your life values. It’s common sense to give back when you receive kindness. It’d be nice to see if you contribute/ giving something back to the Malaysian community. I know Malaysian’s will never ask for you to reciprocate BUT they will certainly appreciate if you do. All the best in your future videos 😊
Sorry to hear you were treated well in my country. Typically Americans are quite friendly, I guess it depends which area you went to as well, usually people don’t care too much if you’re in designer clothing unless in the rich parts of Los Angeles or something. I already have similar values as I always reciprocate kindness by being kind as well. Even if someone is not so friendly I tend to be friendly anyways, so they will hopefully learn from the situation 😁
I think Malaysians should stop being naive and be more selective.
Agree
Don't expect rewards from people. Just give for Allah.
@@marsyaabdulghani1690 totally agree. Not just Malaysians. We were brought up to be considerate of others unfortunately easily taken for granted by others.
Your honesty and sincerity will definitely lead you a long way. Keep it up!!
thanks a lot!
I spend my winters in Bali. I think I was one of your first 100 subscribers. Just want you to know that I'm enjoying your vlogs. You're doing a great job. Cheering you on through your ups and downs. I wish you great success. Ted, Kyparissia, Greece.
Ah awesome, one of the original subscribers! I'll have to give Bali another chance, with a bit more money and without being completely stuck there, I think being broke and getting low views in Bali was keeping me down more than the place itself. Even though it's changed a lot there is still a lot of nice things about Bali. Thanks for the comment
@@benfishermin Yeah, Bali is great. I moved to Greece four years ago from San Francisco. Love it there, but spend my winters in Bali. Chasing the summer weather. Did visit KL this year. Could be my new SE Asian city. Also went to New Zealand in March. Oh man, a must see Ben.
Honestly.. I don't usually follow primarily talking vlogs.. I donno, it usually feels like they are trying to "teach" us viewers, not that there's anything wrong with that. Yours is more like things that's going on with you in your travels. What you like, what you don't like. The ups and downs. And very frank and laid back, like talking to a friend.
So yeah. Good on you.
Take care and all the best in your journey!
Thanks for the nice words, great to hear that!
So I guess for a travel channel, it's not just about content targeted for travelers & tourists, the local people engagement is important too..We Malaysians are very engaging whenever people talk about our country. That's y'all gold mine. As long as travel vloggers keep being honest & respectful, Malaysians are welcoming y'all with open heart & open arms.
Thanks!
Woooo thanks so much for your donation! It's very much appreciated 🤩🤩🤩🤩
Greetings from Miami, FL, USA, Ben! I particularly enjoyed your sharing of today's vlog. You are becoming a Horatio Alger story in Malaysia. I wish you continued success on your journey, wherever it leads you !!.
When I said make friends in the last comment on your video, what I meant is try to interact with some local people when you buy food or something like that. And try to pick up some basic malay words like apa khabar (how are you). It will make your journey in Malaysia a lot easier and fun. Malaysians love that. It shows your efforts. We can understand your english but many are afraid to talk back because we rarely have an American or english speaking friend. Try to talk in very basic english and slowly because they can't pick up what you are saying. Good luck.
Me and my son are fans. We just love watching you talk and walk. lol
Great to hear that! 🙂🙂

You get more fan base if you vlog about the peninsula Malaysia. It also depends on what your fans love. I remember one vlogger saying he had to cut short his travel in Sabah because he noticed his vlogs about Sabah didn't get many viewing. Then again... it depends on your content.
With regard to tattoos... Sarawak (and Sabah) has tattoo culture - traditional tattoos, that is - as compare to the peninsula. If you want to explore those... maybe hop over during the Rainforest World Music Festival (RWMF) to get in touch with other tattoo artists (if you're interested) and see where it will take you.
Yea you're right, I notice videos from vloggers in Borneo don't get the same kind of views. It's a bit far and can be pricey to go there, and then to fly one place to another once there. I will go for sure because I'd like to experience it, but those are the reasons I have stayed in peninsular malaysia so far.
@@benfishermin, if your goal is to build your fanbase, maybe you shouldn’t bother with Sabah & Sarawak. But if your goal is to truly immerse yourself further in Malaysian cultures… then you’ll experience something different than what you find in the peninsula. From our traditional indigenous food to our traditional costumes, histories, languages, the longhouses, traditional festivities… to name a few things. And that’s not even talking about the natural environment, wildlife…
Maybe go when you don’t have to think of building a fanbase.
I agree with you @@bungaialoevera
Sabah , Sarawak is a different dermographa and culture. Very different from the peninsula. Mostly tribesmen , from I don't know how many tribes. Then there's the sea gypsies , Dayak Laut (Malays I believe , I really don't know.) who lives on the seas. There's a lot of Asli's here in West Malaysia , if you know where to look. You've probably seen them without knowing it.
personally, me as a malaysian love to watch contents by foreigners vacationing in KL is because they like to explore KL at places m'sians havent gone to. its like a KL tour sight for me. i love coffee. watching some videos, i am surprised there are a lot of hidden cafes in KL. Rooftops restaurants. basically food round the world you can find in KL. Amazing. these however cut short myself having to explore KL myself. see what i like, google, and go to that place. moreover, weather now is so hot and not that healthy myself, watching newcomers to malaysia is a pleasure for me.
do explore rural area in west coast and east coast of peninsular malaysia. we also have east malaysia sabah n sarawak.
Yea this makes a lot of sense, it’s a similar reason I watch vloggers, to get an idea of new areas before I go check it out myself. Thanks for the comment
Hey man keep making videos about Malaysia, expose our culture and the Malaysian Hospitality.. enjoy your stay buddy
This guy is Jewish. You happy promoting our country to him?
I think you should try kampung life. maybe reach out tu other malaysian youtuber, be friends with them, and tell them you like to experience kampung life for few days.
Try kampung life ? Easy take the cheap homestays , 2 days ? ; at places with no daily iteranery , eat home cooked. If you like durian , don't check for the season , gives you a rough idea , though. (we locals would check if they're falling where we intend to go.) If it's not near famous durian farms , I expect you to get a few fruits for free. Anywhere on the peninsula. Hamada86 , what do you think ?

Recently discovered your content. Thank you for sharing your backstory. I like the more longer, nuanced nature of your videos. Ever thought of maybe dipping your toes a little into the tattoo scene in/around KL? I feel like the local (more artistic, younger folks) community could really benefit from your talent perhaps. A lot of possibilities for some type of collaboration or a pop-up. May or may not be feasible on top of the TH-cam commitment but thought I'd throw this out! Keep it up and I'd also suggest exploring the suburbs in the outskirts of KL, there are plenty of places accessible via the main LRT and MRT lines from KL.
