I really like that it runs over the bore axis. Hope this actually comes to market. At 1600 it’s price competitive with DBAL D2. Maybe the new Holosun IRIS can manage to push these other offerings a bit lower as well.
I hope it lives up to the hype and that they are able to meet market demand. If this thing ends up being D2/MAWL competitor at that price and size... New industry standard imo.
After the video of the IRIS showing disappointing performance was released, I was hoping this would turn out well. So far it looks pretty impressive. Being willing to work with 3rd parties to make accessories right away shows a good level of awareness. I have some small nitpicks with the design but quite frankly any improvement to the civ IR laser market is welcome.
Z Bolt rules. I'm running their IR light head and that thing at under $300 EASILY matches a D2 in output / clarity. This is exactly the stuff we need for the 2A community to remove the domination of fed contract focused companies charging 3-5k for equivalent LAMs. More civilian first products.
They definately have interest from non-US military/police, but for civilians, I'm not sure. I asked John and he said they'd like to provide it to civilians everywhere, but there are some legal complications depending on the country. US civilians are the first priority.
@SS-tr5ru I'm curious to see what price they land on as well. I've kept in touch with them since SHOT, and I'm hoping to get some time range time on the physical product.
I wasn't able to get ahold of anyone by email or phone even if I left a message. The issue is what it is at this point. Please just get back with people so it can actually be resolved in the future.@@zbolt_e_optics
@@zbolt_e_optics Did you already have the FDA approval for the civilian version VCSEL illuminator? Heard that Eotech takes longer than a year to get approved, matter of facts their OGL civilian is still not approved.

Glad someone did a video on this!
Happy to help!

Agreed
1500 for civilian laser, 1650 for full power laser.
The Holosun is Chinese. We can't pay our employees $2 an hour.
VCSEL for $1600 is not bad at all, very cool unit. Sensible design choices. Clear cerakote would be super slick!
Thank you for covering this booth!! Nice to see something actually interesting. Definitely want to check this out when it comes out in some numbers
Absolutely. I'm interested to see how it stacks up against the other VCSELs on the market (or coming soon).
Looking forward to this more than the Holosun IRIS!
Thanks for shooting this video!
John knows his stuff. Thanks for the coverage.

Nice. We are going to need a comparison of this and the bew holosun iris. Looks like one of these will get my money
Yep, that is what we need.
This was supposed to come out in 4QTR 2022
This is epic

I'm still holding on to a bit of hope for the iris. It's still got some development time.
what are your thoughts on the design?
@@1_legion_milsim I like it, don't really see any issues

Will this be something thats sold outside of the USA ?
Id like to look more into this if thats the case

Where is this made?
@Loss8131 not exactly sure. @zbolt_e_optics can you answer this?
Had a ZBolt in early GWOT!!
Apparently, they filled a green lazer contract back around 2006ish.
I wish I could find it, I’m sure it’s in a box somewhere.

I hope they work on there customer service it's abysmal. It looks interesting.
Hmm, I hadn't heard that. Hopefully they lock it down.

That's bullish*t. EOTech is selling 1,000's of units to military and LE units. The civ market is not a priority.@@lorteti

Holosun is gunna crush everyone if their price stays at what they are saying it will be.
Maybe. If holosun can deliver a product as good as it looks on paper.
There's a video of the iris out already. It's pretty trash at the moment.
