Why is he a hero? You do know that you guys are only there for the opium. Afghanistan is one of the biggest exporters of this stuff thx to the USA. Many soldiers that went there said this too. The Army should protect the USA and not invade countries all over the globe for big cooperations profits and evil agendas. This interview, this channel and the vlad channel have done more for me than any other element I’ve attempted in my life. I’m ok… I’ll be ok now. Thank you. Irving made a poignant statement pertaining to watching others fail out of ranger training. He picked up on that special adaptation. I’ve always felt that those moments that we could be broken have trained us to better us in the ultimate fight that is yet before us. Through all I’ve endured most others would be in a rubber room or heavily addicted to something. And I never wanted to be so Eastwood hard that I had no joy and laughter. Yet my own countenance makes people flee from me when in fact I’d rather they speak. Ugh!

I can listen to Nick’s voice all day, I hope he knows he could pod/radio.
As a 💯 straight man I agree
@@Rumham33 lol bro had to set the record straight 😂
I love nick. Real genuine dude and so humble . God bless this patriot.
Julian, I have enjoyed watching your interviews more than most podcasts out there. They are so at ease with you and bringing up pictures for them, probably brings on more memories. Not sure if others do that and we just can't see them. But, you have a natural talent.
To Nick, The Reaper, this interview is so much better with Julian than others I've watched of you.
I appreciate you both. Thanks!
Bro this interview is so personal and it helps so many people hearing it.
THANK YOU NICK FOR YOUR SERVICE AND OUR FREEDOM.THANK YOU FOR TELLING US YOUR EXPERIENCE OVER THERE.GOD BLESS YOU
Thank you Nick as a civilian and American. May God bless all the works of your hands brother.
One of the best interviews I've seen and heard. Great job by both. A new hero!
Watched the whole 4 hours, and I could listen to 4 more.
This man being totally honest about his time in combat is absolutely captivating.
🏆
Whenever I see Nick Irving on TH-cam I immediately click… great story teller even greater person..
Never get tired of Nick Irving’s stories
I don’t know what type of person I would be after going through what he did. Guys like him keep us safe.❤🙏🏽✌🏾
They do what their told. If they told them to decrease human population in the US. Do you think they would hesitate to do it?
@tykendrick800 are you serious? You think the military would easily turn their guns on US population without any thought? Have you met any military men before? That would go against the vast majority of what they believe in and sign up for. You're trippin.
@@tykendrick800absolutely.
@Julian Dorey, That was amazing brother. I wish good on Nick and his family and hope they can settle their differences and he can do many more pod casts because to me it seems that these talks are also good therapy for guys like him. Peace!
Thank you so much for your service! This was a great interview and I learned a lot. My Father served and then went to Saudia Arabia for 14 years. He's 94 and he still can't talk about Vietnam or any other war he took part in. So glad you are sharing your story. God bless you
By far the best podcast I’ve seen with this guy. Great job on the interview and conversation. Somehow manage to ask the questions I would want to ask if i were there
I’ve watched a bunch of podcast about Nick. The way he tells his stories are so detailed it’s like I can picture what he says and what he’s doing in my head. LoL
So you like to picture people being slayed to death? Hmm seek therapy.
@ get bent. I like to picture the families of love ones that were slayed get justice
With his interviews I can picture myself there it's insane
he's so good at telling a story
He really is.. also i believe him. I think a lot of people lie@JulianDorey
@@tylero2112You can tell he’s not a liar he doesn’t tell over the top stories. You can tell when most guys are adding some seasoning on there stories lol
A good story teller, with a good story, and an audience with good imaginations, makes for a great experience for the listener.

Amazing interview!! Blessings to" Irv" and all the guys that served , and their families!!
Ive always liked this man in interviews because his descriptions are pretty good for a civilian to understand.
This was a fire interview one of the best to date I have watched
Just an incredible interview. His humanity is so clear and on display. What a super person.
Great interview. Nick you remind me of my dad in a lot of ways. He was at the North end of Chosin in Korea running a Browning M1915 squad as Sgt. His stories were almost super human to me 🇺🇸
I love how he's dealing with his experiences. He's talking about it. I dont care what anyone says, taking a life has to do something to you mentally and with his kills i know they weigh on him in some way.
Awesome interview, real talk, Nick is a hero, hope to shake his hand one day. God Bless you and your Family.
The bravery this man has to say "well drop it on us then"........For all your sacrifices, for your bravery, for your marksmanship skills, for your leadership skills, and for your survival skills that many will take with them in the future, we thank you Sir.
So stoked part 2 dropped thanks julian!
First to watch! Love all the reapers stories! Stay blessed brother 💯
LFG
Nicks story telling is so casual yet so captivating. Such an interesting bloke. Another fire epp to top 10 we go
I love and appreciate this man. My heart is filled with gratitude for his service.
Heavy! Is the only word to describe. Excellent interview. This will most certainly become a piece of recorded history. Thanks Nick for sharing.
Great guest, i really enjoy the way he tells his story.
Me too
Great interview! Respect from Canada 🇨🇦
I am so obsessed and amazed by him. I LOVE watching his videos and I read one of his books and now I'm on the second one and I'm getting all of his books.
S/O to Julian bro. In a age where short form content is the standard, these be having me watching for hours on actual interesting things and people
This interview was awesome - loved it! Great Job Julian!
Oh man! This is gonna be the best interview. Only Julian can do it
You the man Julian, and thank you to Mr.Irving .
I usually dont comment twice but Julian dude I smashed that like and sub button no “diddy” ! U got a new fan and can thank Matt Cox for mentioning you on his channel and I will forever promote your work if it stays this genuine! Loved that you said so kids forty yrs from now can come watch this and learn like why were we in Afghanistan? I’m currently at day seven of opiate withdrawal at a friends house exercising everyday to get over this stuff and this story was just head spinner for me. At the same time an awesome story and a moment of clarity. Thanks much respect
Stay strong bro. I was a heavy fent/meth user. Im in San Diego, I got stabbed Nov. 16, just about died. Full blood transfusion, etc. I'm on methadone, but I've been clean from that other shit since.
@ double habit is no joke stay strong it’s these little moments from other people that help nothing wrong w methadone as long as u keep ur self alive and strong
Wow, I’m Canadian and not quite affected by the war like the US is. But thank you for your duty and heroism in helping to keep the world more safe. 🙏🏼 🏅 ✌🏻 ❤
Huh? Canadians were with US forces from the beginning of the coalition.
You weren't maybe but Canada was...
@@carlospar3727 I said that we were not AS affected as the US. You’re right, we sent over as many services people as the US, lost as many and spent the same amount of money. The world was affected by this war but not as affected as the US and the people of Afghanistan. I was just giving this serviceman a compliment. Sorry for that. 🙄

Ugh!
What a great guy! Once again julian fkn great guest brother
As many times as I hear Nic.
K talk about his experiences the more it seems like he's still coming to terms with being A. God of death. He Carries it very well
To consider there r decent human qualities in enemies, victims of circumstances beyond their control and nothing but ignorance,
I served 20yr army airbourne ranger and nick is spot on amongst other places countries not even war but hostile nations
Rewatching this for the 2nd time bc ive missed a few things here and there. I know Nick from back in my army days and hes a cool guy!!! Love these podcasts Julian keep them coming...
Man I gotta say- hearing him talk about losing his friend, that broke me up a bit. I’m grateful for hearing this story as tragic as it is.
Crazy thing is all those people he shot and killed had friends and family too.. Its just really crazy to think what Soldiers have to do.
@@nagchumpalotit’s sad as hell around. War is hell. None of those people needed to die, we had no business being there in the first place etc
This hero’s story definitely deserves a thumbs up for the host💯💯💯
Damn, Nick is so honest! He’s a great story teller. Hopefully there’s more
“It was fun”😂😂he describes war like another day at work , buddy a different breed fr
Irv , you’re an amazing man, Julian does a great job of letting people tell their story. So much personal sacrifice that needs to be heard for those who paid so much even their lives. I am retired army and only proud of those I served with. I agree , it’s was so other get richer,
The fact that the suits/higher ups seems to care more about the cost of a mud building than the lives of nick and the other guys when they're moments from possible death speaks volumes to whats wrong with the system, all the brave men and women who gave their lives for what seems like nothing now? Why? I hope you live a long and peaceful life nick, you deserve your peace, thanks for all you've done.
Look up the E.L.H. of the folks in powerful positions at the top.
They have a name for us that translates to cattle
A lot of people get rich because of wars.
Love that guy! Just tells the truth the whole truth. No ego involved
Every American should listen to this for perspective.
I really enjoy hearing this guy, great story and great speaker. Super funny too. Thanks for y'all's time and service Nick.
I can listen to this veteran for hours upon hours. I salute you, sir
Nick Irving oozes intelligence. He is so easy to listen to.
You can tell he’s not lying like Rob O’Neil every interview with this guy is a hit
And his story is always the same too
It was a privilege to hear about this brave Man service. Thank you so very much. It changes my perspective and flushes out what my dad probably went through as a marine on a Navy ship in Vietnam is not even enough.
Very real, very intense. Thanks for this window into Nick's experiences. Visceral, man. Extremely.
I prey that you find the peace in life you seek. You are the definition of a soldier. You did what you had to do never feel guilty for that brother. Its you or them easy decision you have a right to self preservation as much as the next man. Thank you for your storys and service god bless you my brotha!
1:28:40 😂 Having a “pause” moment in the middle of telling a combat story is crazy
Bro😂
Scandalous work 😂😂😂
super genuine thank you guys
Can't wait to listen to this at work tmr got it saved to my watch later 🙏
I'm about an hour and a half in and I've watched the whole video up to this point. Great video.
Thanks
His story is absolutely incredible. I am not from the US, but thank you Nicholas Irving for your service. At the very end of the cast and what you were talking about. I think when it comes to tragedy and traumatic things, we don't so much "get over it" like we hear so much in our society, we more learn to live with it best we can. Great show Julian Dorey.
Buddy, calling it game 2 is a small but amazing move. Right up your alley. Love it
Awesome podcast!
I’ve seen the reaper on a few podcasts now. You can tell he’s a good dude.
Thank you soldier for your service and for sharing your story. As a Support Coordinator, with the Army, I served the Families who lost men and women in OIF and OEF. I’ve read the casualty records for many who died. I’m so glad this soldier survived what others didn’t. He may not believe it, but he’s a Hero. He did what had to be done for himself and others without question - that’s a Hero.
I could listen to this dude for many more hours! Thanks for the upload!
A guy I worked with (me, the R&D manager, him my Networks specialist) was a Ranger who was deployed with NATO special ops for years (non US). He was also a sniper. He hated talking about it all, but from he told me Nick's experiences are very similar to his.
Nick is not lying one bit.
Afghanistan is like where the flintstones live. Those old enough to remember the flintstone
well it is till the reaper shows up, sayonara flintstones! barney gets one to for being a closet wifebeater

God bless you brother!!
You are smokin on the guest bro. Wow you are on a great roll. Atta boy
This is incredible how we are finally getting to hear the real story of what they went through in Afghanistan. This war will never be over for them, We need to look out for our veterans.
