@@michaelcoletta4547 Not really a flex to say McDaniels coached Mac better than Patricia and Judge. The 2008 Matt Cassel season, 11-5 sounds goods if you only look at those numbers, but they missed the playoffs meaning at least 6 teams performed better than them in the conference. They also had the 28th hardest schedule which is a big reason why they were able to get 11 wins. Compare that to 2007 with the 8th hardest schedule and 2009 with the 4th hardest schedule. If Cassel started any other year he doesn't even win 8 games.

It's sad how the Patriots failed him. Belichick is to blame for surrounding him with garbage talent and constantly changing his OC. But it's also on Mac. His attitude sucked as things went downhill. I understand how shitty it was, but the constant outbursts and bitching started wearing on me. He also showed no improvements or awareness. He was mentally in his own head all of last year which led to all those picks. He had 1 game all year that was a stellar performance and besides that looked pitiful. Going into last year I was his biggest supporter, but now I'm just happy that the rug and everything else has been ripped up. New coach new QB. I'm ready for what's next

yeah it's sort of frustrating that now all the sudden they're going to finally address those and put a better team around whoever they draft. as a Pats fan, i hope Mac is able to figure it out and show NE that they fucked up. love Bill and i think he tried to piece it back together last year but it was too late; he was trying to build a defense that could carry the offense, and just run the ball, similar formula to the first Pats dynasty, but it was just too little too late. we knew the issues going into the season and he didn't address them. there are other issues, too, losing coaches, scouts, executives etc., and ownership that was increasingly undermining his authority (going behind his back to work with Mayo), but the buck stops with Bill.

What does that have to do with that horrific throw in Germany? Or those terrible throws vs the Cowboys, Saints, Raiders and much more. Go back and watch and you will see clean pockets by NFL standards. Terrible throws that cost the team. Interceptions in over 80% of the games when taking a sack or throwing the ball away could have won some of those games.

They also hire employees to work along side you that you depend on, but they are making your job more difficult. You can't quit and find another job because you are contractually obligated to work there. You are probably going to stop caring and start making a lot of basic mistakes. A lot of people hate their job and stop caring with a lot less than what Mac had to go through. And don't forget the most egotistical COO you've ever seen.

    • @Tsepete

@@clarkkent1521 To say Patricia had no idea what he was doing is crazy considering he started his coaching career on offense. He coached offense at both college and professional levels. Just like McDaniels started on defense. The media programmed you to think coaches cannot comprehend the other side of the ball. Even as DC and HC he still had to understand how offense works for him to game plan in addition to his past experience. And offense looked way better when he was calling plays vs when the "real" OC came along.
As for Mac, even if all your points were accurate he is still to blame. I have a better analogy. Imagine a pilot who gets rattled and starts to make mistakes because of issues caused by poor maintenance and management. Even if its not his fault, would you want him flying any plane youre on?
The point is Mac Jones is not mentally tough enough to be a starting NFL QB. Many successful QBs still made the right decision on game day even though their situations were crappy. No excuses.

    • @clarkkent1521
      @clarkkent1521 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@Tsepete If it's not the pilot's fault, it's not the pilot's fault. The only reason people would be hesitant to hire that pilot is because he is now associated with something negative, even though it wasn't his fault at all. Someone who is falsely accused of rape will always have that association of rape with him, even though he didn't do it. The mishandling by others can forever ruin a person's life that didn't do anything wrong. The school to prison pipeline. If you treat a person like a criminal, they may grow up to be a criminal.
And Patricia's highest offensive rank was assistant o-line coach for one year. Not really a stellar offensive resume.

    And yes,
I DO indeed mean Cleveland! 🥰
It was a nice little reference
    - and it neighbors Cleveland Heights, ALSO a super cool part of the east side and home of the Kelce brothers (and a part of what makes their personalities so unique and likeable).
Why do Clevelanders love the Browns so much?
It's because they love their great city that much. 😊

Mac never seemed is a guy with a really high ceiling as a draft prospect but he did seem like a guy who had a good chance that if he went somewhere that had a good process in developing him while he transitioned to the NFL, especially a staff that were realistic about where the likely ceiling was and where he current was relative to the cdiigabd accordingly coached him and did what they reasonably could to structure the offense strategy to meet him where he was at to focus on his most competent abilities and could adjust to accommodate those things to accommodate the highest chance tbings that there was a good chance he could be a solid starter who you could win games with. And you can never fully write off how effective a guy with the right people and process surrounding him as he grows may adapt into if they reciprocate those things with a work ethic and attitude that makes that elevation possible. After all New England with Tom was the perfect example of way can happen with a guy who may not have all of the athletic gifts that catch everybody’s eye but had all the right traits to rise to not only maximize whatever ceiling he was thought to have and rose above that as well.
But the way they handled Tom I. His early stages was the opposite because they actually met Tom at where he was at and developed things that gave him his best chance for success. The way they handled Mac was about as bad as possible. And while Mac never had a super high ceiling there’s something to be said that you need to handle people in ways that give them realistic chances that they can actually succeed to have a chance to reach whatever potential is there. For somebody like Mac it does suck so he may never have risen to being elite but having a young QB who still needs some seasoning being led by guys who don’t coach offense and not playing well and then being in and out of playing like a hot potato has his chance to succeed lowered so much. And destroying somebody’s confidence that makes it almost impossible they recover into success and that stinks.

QB is just part of the puzzle. Teams like NE, Carolina, and Chicago keep putting the blame on the QBs and not the coach or GMs

This is what I've been saying to my fellow Jag fans. Look at how bright and happy a soul Mac was on draft day and how well he played his first year. Then he's just been miserable. Let him come home and be a back up for a year, less pressure, he's still doing the routine, and he'll get some nice emotional detox from New England. Then next year maybe he gets picked up to start somewhere else rejuvenated, or decides he likes it here as a back up, who knows.
