    I drive like an old man because I am an old man. So, I don’t usually see RPM’s above 3K. As a result I have never experienced any of those issues. I’ll drive a bit more spirited over the next few days and see if I can recreate the sounds. I’ll report back if I do. Cheers!

    Hey man. Have the same problem on my 23 6MT sport hatch. (the noise at 0:55) I brought it to the dealer a few months ago and I noted the noise. apparently there is a ground cable or some sort of wiring loom in the engine bay that rattles when the engine revs. It was "secured" and the noise totally went away for about a month, but now it's back.
    Honestly, between stuff like this, the very creaky interior, leaky hatch (luckily fixed at the dealer), anemic engine and weird throttle tuning... I'm not a huge fan of it anymore. Starting to think of selling. I can deal with QC problems on a $5-$7k beater but not a $30k OTD new car, especially a Honda. Not meaning to be a total downer, but thank you for documenting your issues and I hope you are able to solve the problem!

    I bought a 24 Lx hatch (CVT) with the same 2.0 engine in January. After about 1600 miles I started to hear a tapping/ticking sound under light acceleration at lower speeds somewhere in the 1200-1500 rpm range. It does not get louder when I accelerate to higher RPMs, but does speed up and eventually becomes imperceptible as it is drowned out by road noise. The crazy thing is that the ticking/tapping is intermittent and will all but disappear for a day or two until it returns. I'm thinking I might take it to the dealership so they can at least log my concern in their records in case something goes seriously wrong with the engine.
    To put things into a bit of perspective, my last car was an 05 Rav4 with a 5 speed MT. That 2.4 engine made me crazy with all the ticking, tapping, and rattling, but I had it for 16 years and it had 226k on it when I was it was totaled out in an accident (hence the new Civic). I eventually learned to trust the noisy engine, turn up the fan blower and forget about it for the most part. Maybe these 2.0 Hondas are reliable but noisy engines too?

    I have a 2023 Civic sport touring 6mt and was having a similar fluttering sound in 2nd gear usually. My car was hit while parked and the sound got worse. They ended up replacing the front bumper and driver's side fog light and headlight so not sure what they ended up doing but it's now gone. My brother will be getting a 24 2.0 with a 6 speed soon so I'll have a listen to see if this same flutter happens.

    Im 2 months in on 2024 civic sports. Only 730 miles on it, and i hear the same noise on mine, but when in idle. Im searching all over the net for similar cases and maybe a solution. Im thinking its a factory issue. Most ppl dont notice, pay attention, or simply dont care. Its hard to let go when i come from an auto mechanic background where i learned to listen to things like this. No new car should have any of these sounds unless you were involved in a collision that might have caused the issue.

    I don't really rev my 2024 hatch spot 6MT that high, I tend to stay between 2k to 3K RPM shifts. The most annoying thing about the car at least in my case is the gearbox, it feels way too notchy/crunchy specially between 1st to 2nd and 2nd too 3rd. It feels like I'm shifting between some rocks like 90% of the time. When I test drove the car at 5 miles before buying I could sense some of the rough shifting but I thought it was because it was new and it would "loosen" up over time but now with 2.5K miles on the odometer it has not gone away and it seems to get slightly worse if it gets colder.
    I read the manual and they recommend using 0w-20 viscosity fluid as a temporary replacement if Honda MTF is not in hand, to me that is way too thin. I have a suspicion that Honda started using cheap mineral factory fill with 0w-20 viscosity in the newer manual trans just like they did with the switch over to 0w-20 motor oil viscosity some years ago for "fuel economy" sake or maybe the trans is low on fluid who knows.
    I have heard that it is not too uncommon in the Honda community with some of their transmission having issues like in third gear and some remedied this by switching the fluid to Amsoil or AC delco friction modified, the viscosity on those is 5w-30 which translates to 75w-80 gear oil viscosity.
    I really want to change the fluid myself to AC delco FM or Redline MTL but I don't want to void my warranty, another possibility is that it may need to have a clutch adjustment or the trans can be low on fluid from the factory (less likely). I got a recall letter (possible steering rack and wheel interference in some driving conditions) for my 2024 Hatch sport so I may just take it to the dealer and ask if they could check the trans fluid level or do something about it while they have the recall inspection done.

      I know this is normal in manual cars but I hate how jerky this car is when driving the car in 1st and 2nd gear even 3rd sometimes. I try my best to slowly accelerate when I’m off throttle and want to get back to it but every time I do it jerks and it’s annoying. It feels like I’m on a rollercoaster. It’s understandable in 1st gear but 2nd and 3rd the jerk is way too much.

    Question: Does it do it when your front wheels are not rolling? So assuming the engine is warm, have you tried to rev it while it was in neutral with the clutch up/disengaged and you hear the same noise? And again, have you tried it in neutral with the clutch down/engaged… If you don’t hear the same sound, then it’s an issue. I kind of feel like I might know what it is but do those things and comment back. I know you’re in a cold area, so do it after you get home from a drive.

    • @NAUS2K
      @NAUS2K  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The problem is the car does not let you rev it up like that when you are stopped. The factory limiter is like 4000 rpm when stopped and the ecu adds a ton of rev hang when stopped, so it’s impossible to diagnose when stopped

    • @VocalVirgo
      @VocalVirgo 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@NAUS2K Yeah, I suspected. Most car manufacturers started doing that a couple of years ago, but I haven’t been in a Honda in a couple of years, and I was hopeful that you would be able to rev it to where you could see if you could duplicate it under different circumstances. So it will let you Revit like that if you are rolling, but not if you are stopped? Is it the same case if you are stopped without the electric parking brake on? Not necessarily the same issue as you, but I've also heard a rattle from the lower driver side of my car when hovering at 5000+ RPM. I also took a tech for a ride and he agreed that the sound was unusual and ended up with the same "no correction made" sort of diagnosis. I also know that when I swapped out my own intake for an HVI from PRL, that I got a strong rattle in the place it sat (the HVI has only 2 screws holding it down versus the OEM 3). As far as I've read online and can tell from driving the car for the last few months, the rattling and shaking in the 11th gen civic is very normal and pretty much expected if you push it.

    You finally did the vid lol, it's pretty dumb how many are complaining about rattles on these civics.
    If you remember me i asked if you been having rattles on reverse, check my vid to know what i meant. Also the rattle between 1.8k-2k rpm is gone but it'll be back later on lol, been owning the car for 5 months now..

    Hmm... seems like Civic is now the level of Made in China junk... made outside of Japan, cost cutting all over the place, tiny sounding doors. And now they have issue with rear window shattering all on its own while driven.

      I feel.more engaged with a manual. Won't buy a vechicle unless it has one.More fun to drive.
