Great idea and video, Glen! How about some shop furniture, like flip-top and bandsaw carts? I've got a very small shop and I enjoy seeing all of the different variations of furniture and then modifying them to fit my needs.
I do not mind anything you've ever done. If I receive similar content, and in 2019 I am pleased. I wish you a better year than 2018 but not better than 2020. You are my inspiration.
Very cool project. I dig the extra flairs that you made to cover your flange. It sort of breaks up the lines and I think it definitely adds to the design of it.
I also like the added Pieces, but I think that perhaps they could have been a little thinner. I think that maybe the pieces as they are add more bulk/mass that could be toned down. But the idea is still a good one.
Another clever design Glen! Re: the octagonal accents....I might have stuck with just the one in the middle. But, as they say, hindsight is 20/20. Overall some really good ideas in this one!
Congratulations, I'm subscribed to 53 channels of different themes, but I'm always reviewing your new videos specifically, everything you do is perfect, it's my dream to have a workshop like yours with all those tools. Greetings from Colombia.
Great job. I love the look it came out really nice. I feel the fan parts did add to the look. After watching this I think I'm going to build some thing similar for my kitchen.
Hello, thank you for your illustrative videos, that a lot helps us for people who are starting in the woodwork or that as I am a fanatic or we have this beautiful hobby, regards from Veracruz, Mexico.
As usual, a very nice job and well presented. Thank you! One of the first things I did in my home was to replace the 8 foot fluorescent light in the kitchen with two 4 foot LED fixtures. This was rather simpler than your fix as the existing light was just hung from the ceiling joists with a wood box surround. Conveniently, when the previous owner made this he put a switched outlet inside the box. The 5000k light works very well, I think, in my kitchen. I might want something a bit warmer in a bedroom, but that's just my preference. Lastly, I think you made the right call on the extra pieces, the fixture you made would not have looked as good or finished without them.
You make the best videos Glen! But you should think about picking up some Flush Cutters to get clean cuts on zipties instead of using the xacto next time!
I like the ‘extra’ pieces, they make the design look more professional. Great tip with the plastic wall plug. More lighting projects this year? Thanks from the UK.
Nice job Glen If you’re not down with the two pieces you added in the middle you could double up on the wood to make it 1.5 inches instead of 3/4 or a 3/4 piece and a 1/2 piece to get 1.25 thickness but still like your resourcefulness keep up the good work
These added pieces of wood make it look amazing and really special. Awesome design, would have been way less fancy without the "problem solvers"! Thanks for showing us and as always for your perfect explanations. :)
Wow! I've got an LED light fixture which looks very much like yours. I think I'll make a wooden frame for it like you did. Thanks for posting. Nice looking job! That wall-anchor trick was clever. I thought your frame design looked great, that clear pine really dressed things up.
Another great idea Glenn I’m going to use your idea and mount 3 of them 45 degrees parallel. In the living rm I have a ton of older fan hardware I found 3 that match thanks again
Hi bro, Happy new year and thanks for your amazing videos, I always use 4 channels to learn how to build stuff and one of them is your channel. I have a plan for summer to make an arbor, I like to see you building one of them, because you are one of the best woodworker that I've seen
Good job, well detailed video, good choice of materials, and simple enough for those who want to do it at home, finally a pendant light design is added to illuminate at the start of the year 2019!!
Glen, Happy New Year. This is one good looking light set up. Thanks for the great videos. Since I am a novice woodworker, I would like to see more of the at home remodel type videos to show how to make the best of what is already at hand.
Basically you made a housing for the light without modifying it therefore keeping it legal. Great job on that. Love the look and the way it came out. Happy new year
Man... this time I have a dream of being your neighbour to learn, help and do all of this with and like you do... you make all seem so simple... Greetings from Brazil...
Awesome!!! I liked the addition to the sides and end! Gave it more character! Could also have used if had some of the presculpted or formed trim pieces I don't know the name for but that are used for corners and accents usually in ceiling trim! But this is beautiful and depending on the space and look sometimes simple clean lines is the look to go with! It almost looks like a reverse of the ceiling and meant to be so to stand out!
It would be really cool to see how you light up those dark spots in your workshop. I have a big wood shop and I need to brighten up the lighting. LED lighting is what I am looking at to accomplish this task.
Happy New Year Glen! The extra pieces look good and add unique character. I’ve said it before, you are very creative and it’s a pleasure to watch your content.
Amazing work as always, Glen. Would definitely love to see a video with more in-depth information about working with cables and electricity in general. Happy New Year. Blessings to you and your family
I don't have any of the tools that you have... And by the looks of it, I may never have a tenth of the tools that you have... Therefore I probably will never produce any of the things that you produce... - But man, it is fun and relaxing to watch your videos!! :D Thank you Sir... :)
Happy New Year my friends! What do you guys want to see this year?
Great idea and video, Glen! How about some shop furniture, like flip-top and bandsaw carts? I've got a very small shop and I enjoy seeing all of the different variations of furniture and then modifying them to fit my needs.

I like what you did with the extra trim. I’m glad I found your channel! You’ve got some skills and great ideas!
Very cool project. I dig the extra flairs that you made to cover your flange. It sort of breaks up the lines and I think it definitely adds to the design of it.
Thank you, maybe it will grow on me.
I liked the extra pieces. It didn’t take away from the modern look at all.
it looks really beautiful and the old fan peices gave it a classy look , well done
Excellent, those add on pieces of wood has given the lamp a really designer look
I think those additional pieces really make the project. Good job!
Thank you.
Yeah it adds a bit of interest beyond just a wooden case for the lights.
Agreed the extra pieces look very good.
I also like the added Pieces, but I think that perhaps they could have been a little thinner. I think that maybe the pieces as they are add more bulk/mass that could be toned down. But the idea is still a good one.
I agree they give the project a little panache.
Another clever design Glen! Re: the octagonal accents....I might have stuck with just the one in the middle. But, as they say, hindsight is 20/20. Overall some really good ideas in this one!
As an old electicain the design is modern. I really like it. Well done.
Your light looks awesome. The added pieces on the sides and ends give the light some character. Thumbs up.

Great job. I love the look it came out really nice. I feel the fan parts did add to the look. After watching this I think I'm going to build some thing similar for my kitchen.
That's a nice-looking, creative solution to a problem. Well done.
Thank you :).
Great design. Love the additional pieces you added to the rectangle. Will use that. Never seen a cleaner workshop/garage.
great workmanship congratulations
Love it. A wheelchair accessible vanity will be cool. I need one
I think the accent pieces really made the look of the fixture stand out...I loved it
Fantastic design and outcome.
DIY Creators Hey Glen this is a really nice build! I think the addition of the center piece and the ends adds visual interest to the project!
