    I'm a huge fan of lavender, too!
    But, I use HeadBlade's Head Slick mentholated shaving cream. It works great everywhere, but especially for my backside and front.
    HYGIENE of your blades is immensely important. I use two blades on rotation. When my facial blade gets a bit too dull, it becomes my body blade, then the old body blade is discarded, and I start with a fresh new blade for my face.
    Witch hazel is GREAT! Been using it for years.
    I use it to sanitize my blades every other use, before I shave. Reducing bacterial growth on your skin and shaving tools reduces redness and irritation. So I will also use witch hazel wherever I've shaven, after shaving. It's astringent, so it stings, but that means it's working.

    I'm glad you made this! Its so hard to find good products that properly manage body hair removal and don't make your skin feel horrible afterwards. I'll have to try out some of the stuff you talked about. I still have to laser and stuff, but currently I've been able to get a lot out of just a Venus razor and Dove bar soap, but that's obviously only for body hair, not facial hair. My hair isn't that dark, but every little thing helps.
    I hope you keep making helpful videos like this :D

    My favorite body hair management products: Dr.Bronner's soap and a mach 3 razor. I have been tempted to pick up a venus since it's designed for shaving the body. Once I am done with electrolysis I wont have any facial hair to shave anymore. So the Mach 3 will lose it's primary function.
    I tried all manner of shaving creams and gels in the past. Good old fashioned soap has worked best for me. I would try Dr.Bronner's soap before any sort of shaving product. I like the luxury of one product for just about everything. I use the bar form for washing my self and shaving. I use the liquid form to wash my hair and whenever I had wash any clothes.

    Now that I've been shaving daily recently I haven't put much thought into the products I've been using, and I always end up getting terrible razor burn on my neck!! This video was very helpful, and I'll be picking up the products you suggested :)

    Target’s new in-house female razor 🪒 which is 9.99 for the starter. (Razor handle 2 blade refills and a shower holder. Design is like the fusion but no moisturizer strip four pack refills are 8.99. Very nice razor. I got it and like you I have dark hair and it easily gets my face very smooth.

    Totally awesome to sharing your experience. But ..without rigidness but just gotta say. I'm transgender to female and also natural health advocate. So I wouldn't use mainline products with chemicals take a look at the aubrey organics book on chemicals to avoid if that is a concern or you are interested.

    I have a lot of body hair to deal with. I need to shave all over each day, I use Walmart shavers and shave cream. very cheap. at 30 cents per shave. I do it with a hot shower. after the shower I use moisturizing cream. After 24 hours the stubble returns. But for a while I'm nice and smooth. BTW you have lovely facial features and beautiful hair.

    Whats the difference between laser & electrolysis?

    • @GAPDesigns
      @GAPDesigns 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +christine xo laser hair removal uses concentrated lasers to attack hair follicles in a more general sense - it targets half-inch areas at a time and takes less time to complete per session. electrolysis uses a small probing needle to target each hair individually and remove it by zapping it - you purchase sessions for this method of removal an hour at a time, and it is notably more painful. not that i've had either of these done, this is all information i've gathered from youtube. :)

    This trans woman feels your pain. I was socked with dark facial and body hair. YUCK. I'd rather hormone and laser it away and be done with it. I bought an IPL device because it was cheaper than going to a salon and having a professional do it. I do IPL runs on my face every three days.
