I don't know if Brandy discusses skincare in another video, but I feel you have to prep your skin with whatever serums and creams you need to make the skin itself hydrated and soft, then I do these few extra steps: 1 - Press fine powder into your whole face, with a wedge sponge or beauty blender. Press it in and brush the excess with a soft powder brush. (I use Ben Nye Luxury powder, or Mehron, or Coty Airspun. Something loose and very fine.) 2 - Apply a "sticky" primer, I use E.L.F. Power Grip with Niacinamide. THIS is a game changer. Let it set for around 30 seconds. 3 - Apply your color correction. 4 - Apply a layer of setting spray. Use something that says "All-day," or "Makeup extending," Urban Decay Allnighter is the golden standard, but a cheaper alternative is L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Spray & Set. 5 - Complete your makeup according to your routine, you can probably use a pretty light touch, now that you have a tacky, set baseline. Just do it however you want. 6 - Finish with powder and setting spray again. This is the routine that covers shadow ALL day for me, like, 12 hours no problem, no touchups. It's a game-changer for trans women who still have beard shadow.
thank you so much for this video! I'm a cis woman and my gf recently realised that she's trans, I don't really know anything about makeup and can't really be of help to her in that regard so far so I'm educating myself more about it and it's all very fascinating! really informative, thank you again
Omg! I am so happy your brought up PCOS! Beauty gurus don’t even mention it at all! Thank you so much! You are one of my favorites ❤️ I love you and your channel! Love a beauty guru that in inclusive with everyone ❤️
Hello! I am a cis woman who does not wear makeup with an older male friend who is transitioning. This video is very user friendly and I appreciate the comments at the end inviting viewers to wear as much or as little makeup they want. It acknowledges the subjectivity and range of feminity.
I'm a part time crossdresser and crossplayer who came to doing female street makeup with knowledge gained from theatrical training and experience who has worked to refine my technique over the last five years of dressing up. I have looked to TH-cam videos for some more guidance but have to say that this particular video gave me more practical tips than any other I ever have watched. Thanks for making it and I look forward to seeing any other videos on makeup that you may make in the future! You are beautiful, by the way...you do you girl!...😘🤗
I would like to add that I have found myself going back to this particular video everytime I do female makeup to help me do a good foundation. Thanks again for making this video that I personally have found invaluable for doing a good base makeup.
This is honestly the most usefulo make up tutorials I've seen so far for trans people you explain everything so well I'm still in the transition phase but I've been trying to practice different kinds of make up
I just had my makeup girl bail on me at the last minute for a very important event I was gonna go to tonight. Therefore I have decided that I am going to start doing my own makeup and doing everything myself! I found this video extremely helpful! Thank you so much, Love! ❤️
Thanks so much for this. I'm literally on day 2 of HRT. Have watched your videos many times, I still fail miserably with makeup but getting better each time. Thank you!
@@roxannem5882 Hi Roxanne I am a trans lady on 25 mg of Spiro. Some studies say this holds us back as it as it not very good at lowering our testosterone and it makes it more difficult to reach normal female estrogen levels. Is this true?
One of the best videos that I have seen for a very simple look. You are so correct with less is more. I am a crossdresser and starting to care more about my makeup and I'll use all of these tips and tricks. Now I have a question about foundation. Cream, Liquid or Powder make a difference? I heard that cream/wax is the best for an "older" looking face. BTW, keep up the great work with the videos. I know this was 4 years ago. May I suggest that you can do an update.
i am not a trans woman but this video made me feel so safe :,))) also I LOVE how you explained why you were contouring each area and what effect it had it was so useful!!!
I have not started HRT yet, but I am in transition in very subtle ways. I have much to learn about makeup. I already have feminine features so, except for my voice, it won’t be as difficult. I work my chest hard in the gym so when I wear a padded bra, I have the appearance of real breasts. I am wanting my hair to grow. I need help with eye makeup for my brown eyes. Becca
Thank you for your message at the end! As someone who is just starting to transition and not feeling trans enough packing on the makeup is absolutely something I do especially when it comes to my eyeliner/shadow. Thank you so much for your message of acceptance. Also, I kinda hate you because it made me start crying which in turn made my makeup start to run. With that being said so much love and appreciation for you. Thanks
Thank you for the great tips for women like me. I love doing my makeup and I always save doing my lips for last. It lights up my whole face. I feel naked without my lipstick. Seeing myself as a woman is so comforting
Hi Brandy. I rarely sit through makeup advice / tutorials like this but your tips and presentation are marvellous and really helpful. I think the most important thing you said was to 'be you' and to be 'authentically you'. Quite right, as I don't seek to copy anyone else, just be the best version of me (which I hope is evolving after losing a lot of confidence after a breakup with a GG). Many thanks. You are beautiful inside and out. Rachel Louise xx
I love dressing up as a woman. And my female appearance has improved since I first started going outside 4 years ago. I've also developed a female voice. So all good. Thanks for the video.
Thank you so much for the video I am just beginning with make up and this video really helps. Could you possibly drop me a list of the products you use including the brushes. Thank you!
Thanks for the tips, Brandy. You are a beautiful soul. I am an old TV who was out over 20 years ago, then life got in the way. We didn't have TH-cam then, so everything I did was self-taught. I thought I looked good, but I probably didn't! 😄 Peace my friend. 💓☮
Thank you. Yes, the therapist I had taught me how to contour to go on stage as a drag queen instead of a more natural look🤷♀️. Eventually, I figured it out, but stopped just before the Pandemic because I gained enough weight to soften the jawline. Now, I've lost it😅. I naturally have an androgynous egg shaped face (fortunately) but I think my jawline looks hard again, and I'm insecure over my nose size.
I have pcos and really struggle sometimes to hide stuff. I’ll for sure be trying these tips out. Can I just ask, how do you hide the texture (bumps) as that’s the issue I am most concerned about. Also, Brandy, you look fab. I’m so pleased your journey has taken you to such a great place.
HI love! Thank you so much!!! Texture is a little bit tough...try using a smoothing primer.. something with silicone in it will help hide the texture! :)
Texture/bumpy skin is caused by dryness & over accumulation of dead skin cells. So exfoliation is your friend! I use neutrogenia microdermabrasion (daily & change the puff every week or two) & glycolic acid face wash 5% left on as an in shower mask, & glycolic toner 5%. My skin is so smooth & soft with this routine! Anything more than 5% in my experience makes my skin hot & red & it’s not really needed. I hope this helps!🍀
Thank you so much, Brandy. A very helpful video and everything was very well explained, you're a wonderful lady. Wishing you every happiness for the rest of your life.
You’re soo freaking gorg!!! Thank you for the lipstick 💄 tip!! I use it all the time when I’m working on my crossdress/trans clients’ makeup. Love your vids! 😍
Thank you so much. This video helped me to understand what I did not yet understand. How to correct the beard shadow and how to blend the foundation. Super helpfull. I've got one question: when do you apply powder? Especially for the places where you put the red lipstick.
Just try them! It’s hard to get the perfect shade but try and get the closest one! If it’s too light bronze up, if it’s too dark use a lighter concealer!
I am a trans lady on 25 mg of Spiro. Some studies say this holds us back as it as it not very good at lowering our testosterone and it makes it more difficult to reach normal female estrogen levels. Is this true?
I've done about 9 laser hair removals but I still have kinda a dark green shadow above my lip, m hair is naturally black and I have olive skin. Will more hair removals helps this problem?
First off you look great! Secondly, you make this look so easy, however I have such a hard time with the beard cover. When you said you put the foundation about three or four times over the red, was that just in that area and then one layer of foundation on the rest of your face? Or four layers all over your face?
Hi Brandy as someone who's just beginning to transition m2f I was wondering with these tips for the coverage of the 5 o'clock shadow as I still shave every morning would this be what I should be doing after shaving (have started electrolysis) to enable to get through the day. Thanks all of your wonderful tips greatly appreciated from someone needing to learn a lot as my journey begins (older male).
Great Video I'm A Trans Woman I've been Authentic at My own Pace for Years now u know but I am now bridging further and Further Now I as of Yesterday got Some Make up Foundation Powders a Brush with General Mineral Make up got My Pinkish Purple Nail Polish Eyeliner and Eye Shadow I wonder should I experiment and see if The Eye Shadow works as a Good Substitute for The Lip Stick u covered the shadow up with before the foundation?

Beautiful look. I wish I could apply makeup that well instead of having my makeup ending a disastrous mess and a failure
This is a lot to take in. I am super intimidated by this. Never done this before. I’m glad you put out content on this!

This is the best video ever. Very informative and helpful. Even mentioned what was used during laser hair removal. A+++

Just matt down the colour corrector very lightly with a SMALL amount of powder before applying concealer/foundation. It prevents disturbance.

I know this video may be super helpful for a lot of trans women but a few words of caution…
1) if you have more mature skin or tend to be on the dryer side putting this much product on your face is not the ticket. When you’re younger you can get away with a lot more but I was in my late 30s when I started transitioning and I would watch videos like this and then wonder why I looked crazy when I would follow the steps. It was because I was applying an amount of product that literally only looks good in video lighting. Not only did it look crazy but it felt terrible because it would dry out my skin in less than an hour.
2) a heavy red lipstick color might work on her skin type but it would look terrible on a lighter skin tone like mine. The point of color correcting is to cancel out, not cover. If you put a heavy red color on a lighter skin tone it’s going to look terrible. Not only will it not cancel out the beard color it’s also going to require a ton of product to just cover the red.
TLDR for trans women..…know your skin type (dry, oily, combo, sensitive, etc) and know your skin tone before you follow videos that encourage you to use a ton of product or a particular shade.
