I feel the same somtimes. Usually I like being more neutral looking, but for special occasions, (and I cosplay) I use similar tricks. the blush placement along with the contour definitely ties in the whole cheekbone-lifting effect freeze-frame at 12:54 to compare the sides! awesome tips
Girl! you're gorgeous. This video, I have no doubt will help a lot of girls who are just starting transition to feel more like their true selves. Keep it up.
Feminizing my very masculine face is a nearly impossible task, but the facial hair coverage thing helps so much bc that's the one thing that I have a problem that I know I can fix without surgery. Thank you so much Samantha
There are no good videos that I have seen haha... But yeah, I am a makeup artist and this is how you do it! Samantha said you should use a matte foundation to hide all the texture to look more feminine. If you want to look more masculine you use a foundation that isn't matte. Use one that has a light coverage to make it look more natural. When you highlight the face you want to draw the attention outwards instead of inwards like Samantha did. That means you highlight the outer parts of your forehead above the brows, the jaws, chin etc. When you contour you put the contouring right where the nose connects to your forehead, between the eyes. This makes your browbone look more masculine and prominent. You also put it on your eyelids and the area of your nose right next to your eyes to make your eyes more deep set and masculine looking. You also do the cheekbones, but instead of just stopping when you reach the apples of your cheeks, you bring the line down towards your jaw to get masculine cheekbones. Also contour your temples, nose and jawline. Then you blend that out, and then by using eyeshadow you take a brownish red and purple eyeshadow on your upper and lower eyelids. Just a touch of it and blend it out. This will make you look less flawless and more natural because the skin around your eyes are always a bit darker and more purple/red than the rest of your face. Then you can tightline your eyes using an eyeliner pencil that is dark brown or medium brown. Tightlining is basically the same as eyeliner, but you put it under your lashes instead of above them which makes it look invisible and natural. Then you use some blush to give you some color, avoid anything shimmery. A peachy blush is great. Put it on your cheeks and a little bit on the tip of your nose. Then you use a lipliner that matches your natural lip color, but just a little bit darker and a little bit more red in tone. Just put a little bit it in the center of your lips right where your lips open, then you blend it out across your lips. This is called gradient lips, it looks natural but gives the lips a healthy fresh color.
THANK YOU I've tried to watch so many "basic" contour videos and they're just all SOO complicated and made me feel so lost and confused, but with your video I was able to understand well enough to actually do a half decent job! Thank you thank you thank you thank you!

Hey Sam, thanks a lot for this video! 💋 There are some very useful tips in here! I'm definitely going to try some of those! Got a question for you. What are your tips for the eyebrows to make your face look more feminine? Thanks 💋
Geez... girl, you are a cosmetic artist, but honestly... you're just as beautiful (if not more so) without... your fresh face is a true work of art... sooo effin pretty... 😍
She gave me more tips on contour (which I'm horrible at!) than any of the big beauty gurus have ever given me. Easy and explanatory. Thank you for helping me not look like I was punched in the face! 😅
Without makeup you look so cute! You already look so feminine anyway but I get it as a trans person myself you're always picking out these things but other people aren't. God though how are you so pretty with and without makeup
wth? i've never seen you around here but i'm subscribing. you are so pretty and just watching you apply makeup is so fascinating for me as i never, and i say never, watch these kind of videos. keep it up boo.
I'm shook, I actually felt like the before was more "feminine" cause there was no make up so the natural beauty easily shone through. I also assumed she was cis so maybe that's why I had that thought. I was like "why would she need to "feminize" her face? She's already pretty and youthful"
Yessss, oooo a new & fresh bottle of the lash sensational is one of my favorite things. Towards the end of the bottle the product can start to become a little chunky but I love it as well 😍
Wow! I have watched a few of your videos and throughout I repeatedly wondered if your eyes are really that big or if it's a make-up trick. You have such beautiful big eyes and added to the heart shape of your face you look classically fae, in my opinion. Love your eyes!
I don’t see why putting the shadow higher, men usually have higher cheekbones lmao, women habe more feminine, round shape that’s the reason why women contour their face (not all but i mean if they are doing makeup)
This is definitely gonna be offensive, but she won’t ever read this so.. I honestly think she looks more feminine in the before picture than the after one. The makeup just makes her look like a ken doll and her cheeks look way more masculine. Idfk. I just think she looks more like a cross dresser than a trans woman with the makeup on whereas without makeup if I saw her in the streets I’d instantly think she was a woman. Sorry anyways
yeah, that's toxic femininity. she has no reason to wear makeup. btw the cheekbones thing is wierd, you're not supposed to make them look prominent to feminine face, female faces have fat in cheeks, so they look round
I don't know how I ended up here, but I really like this girl! This hairstyle is seriously cute, especially on her! I might have to try that on my mane... I wear makeup maybe 3 times a year so... But there's definitely some neat tricks for when I do!
A few things: first, I’m cis, but have always felt like I have more traditionally masculine facial features and this video is super helpful. Second, you sound like Kate Mara and I love it. Finally, your videos are super soothing and I love how down-to-earth you are. ❤️

You've got nothing to correct for. I can't imagine your getting clocked. You look incredibly cute and feminine, even without makeup.
Lol both the before and after in your thumbnail are adorable. May even prefer the before because girls with freckles are so cute!
I love your videos and content, you're so pretty and an inspiration to many girls who are transitioning. Keep up the great work 🏳️🌈♥️
Gorgeous! I love the sections on where highlights go to change the facial structure, your eyes and lip work is also really informative. Thank you for this.
I love her eyes, they’re a beautiful shape and color

I hope your have/having a nice day.
I've been binge watching your videos for the past couple hours, and I can officially say I'm obsessed. Girl, you're gorgeous and I love learning about trans women through your ranting videos. I love your content and your personality 💖
Girl you look beautiful your really good at this I just found your channel and I am young viewer and you are an inspiration!
She gave me more tips on contour (which I'm horrible at!) than any of the big beauty gurus have ever given me. Easy and explanatory. Thank you for helping me not look like I was punched in the face! 😅
So pretty I can't stand myself. You are literally the most adorable transgirl youtuber. Love your freckels.
August is such a cute name
@@il3077 thank you. Its the month I was born.
you look so pretty with and without makeup and you’re so talented 🥺
Without makeup you look so cute! You already look so feminine anyway but I get it as a trans person myself you're always picking out these things but other people aren't. God though how are you so pretty with and without makeup
i'm just a cis female with a very plain face that doesn't could be "masculine" or "feminine" tryna look cute for once, thx Samantha 😂❤️
Me when Samantha Lux uploads:😱😱😱😀😁😂🤣😃😄😆😅😊☺🙂🤗
i'm a cis girl and i tooootally agree, even for me having eyeliner or mascara makes such a huge difference on the face. cuteness +100
I don't think the make up makes you look more feminine. You look just as feminine without it but if it makes you feel more fem then you go! :)
I love the highlights on your forehead. It looks very natural and it doesn't make your forehead look big at all. :)
Needed this thank u so muchh 💗
Glad I could help ☺️
wth? i've never seen you around here but i'm subscribing. you are so pretty and just watching you apply makeup is so fascinating for me as i never, and i say never, watch these kind of videos. keep it up boo.
I'm shook, I actually felt like the before was more "feminine" cause there was no make up so the natural beauty easily shone through. I also assumed she was cis so maybe that's why I had that thought. I was like "why would she need to "feminize" her face? She's already pretty and youthful"
Not only are you sensationally gorgeous, Samantha, you are so vivacious and positive and with your videos you are giving so much. Thank you! 😍😍😍
Im early af, but you are beautiful with or without makeup.
Yessss, oooo a new & fresh bottle of the lash sensational is one of my favorite things. Towards the end of the bottle the product can start to become a little chunky but I love it as well 😍
Wait what?? You're trans? U look so good that I've been watching u for a week and just realized that. I love u and ur content
I mean trans women are as gorgeous as cis women in general
We're all gorgeous women c:
Wow! I have watched a few of your videos and throughout I repeatedly wondered if your eyes are really that big or if it's a make-up trick. You have such beautiful big eyes and added to the heart shape of your face you look classically fae, in my opinion. Love your eyes!
Honestly, your face looks really feminine without makeuo too!
okay but your freckles are so cute omg im in love
I don’t see why putting the shadow higher, men usually have higher cheekbones lmao, women habe more feminine, round shape that’s the reason why women contour their face (not all but i mean if they are doing makeup)
Which is why you contour higher because that's literally the beauty "standard" for women.
Mar Mar yeah but born as male shouldn’t you put a lil down? That will look more cis (if that’s something someone want)
You look gorgeous, girl! With and without makeup! 💙💗🤍💗💙
Im still figuring out my gender preference. But i think my jealousy towards her ability to mask her face speaks volumes.
Thank you for your video. I’m a cis female who just enjoys your content. It’s so wholesome and helps me feel more confident about myself.
wait! she hasn't had feminisation surgery yet?
you are beautiful with and without makeup!! love you!!
Is it weird that in the thumbnail I thinks she looks more feminine without the makeup? Still cute both ways tho😘
I think its because of all the blush and bronzer exp on the chin it makes it look too dark for her skin and is therefore throwing one off
OH MY GOD I ABSOLUTELY LOVE YOUR FRECKLES
This is definitely gonna be offensive, but she won’t ever read this so.. I honestly think she looks more feminine in the before picture than the after one. The makeup just makes her look like a ken doll and her cheeks look way more masculine. Idfk. I just think she looks more like a cross dresser than a trans woman with the makeup on whereas without makeup if I saw her in the streets I’d instantly think she was a woman.
Sorry anyways
I see what you mean, I actually agree.
yeah, that's toxic femininity. she has no reason to wear makeup.
btw the cheekbones thing is wierd, you're not supposed to make them look prominent to feminine face, female faces have fat in cheeks, so they look round
I just can't get over how pretty she looks like💕
When this shows up on my recommended as a trans guy... hehe I'll head out
I don't know how I ended up here, but I really like this girl! This hairstyle is seriously cute, especially on her! I might have to try that on my mane... I wear makeup maybe 3 times a year so... But there's definitely some neat tricks for when I do!
Me a cis woman watching this cuz I dont feel femenine
A few things: first, I’m cis, but have always felt like I have more traditionally masculine facial features and this video is super helpful. Second, you sound like Kate Mara and I love it. Finally, your videos are super soothing and I love how down-to-earth you are. ❤️
"I did one hand and then gave up" LMAO me
Absolutely adore you! New fav TH-camr? I think so!
