The Roundtable This is something I've thought about before. And I'm sorry to change the subject but did anyone else play Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker and notice some coincidental yet striking parallels to Steven Universe with Greg being Snake Rose being The Boss and Pearl being Strangelove? The Boss choosing to die at the hands of Snake causing Strangelove to resent Snake because she was a lesbian / bisexual and in love with The Boss. But after coming to terms with her death she forgives Snake and eventually forms a friendship with him.
Think about how Greg rebelled against his family and left to become a Universe instead of a Demayo. And Rose rebelled against the diamonds to become a quartz. They prob had a lot to confide and relate to with each other after they got talking to each other
Plus Greg didn't really talk or cared about gem politic, so he was generally safe to tell. He may know that Ross was in command of invasion but he probably don't know what Diamonds are.
I'd definitely say Greg is the best father in animation. Practically every father is idiotic, angry, annoying, distant, apathetic, etc. Homer Simpson, Peter Griffin, Glen Martin, and countless others. Let it be known that Greg is the only main character who hasn't either almost killed Steven and/or indirectly blamed him for Rose's disappearance. He gave the gems practically all the money he made, while living in a van, so his son would be taken care of. He tries to see Steven often, he tries to be understanding, and he has even disciplined Steven for the sake of his safety, such as in Space Race. Besides that, he's kind (or tries to be) to everyone, even a gigantic blue lady planning to destroy Earth, or a purple chick who turns into his dead wife, or a skinny girl who constantly told him that he wasn't good enough for the love of his life. Compared to Homer Simpson, he's a much more likable person and a better father
That's what i was thinking (and ranting to myself lol at the video) Theres a small (but lowkey big) hole in this theory maybe Greg is talking about rose as rose in the past not "oh hey I'm pink diamond" type of rose According to garnet (or pearl I forgot) rose kept a lot of secrets even from them so when Greg said they talked about serious things even the past she might of (like was said in the video) felt compelled to tell him out of guilt/sadness about what happened and how this all started but as she was about to tell him Greg stopped her and told her "the past is in the past" which made her drop the subject and since Greg's not one to press for details it fits all the more better. It would be one heck of a plot twist again but it really wouldn't make sense to me plus we just had a big plot twist do we really need another one? I'm all for it(love plot twists) but what's the point lol
It's also possible that while he never let her tell him directly, he might have pieced it together anyway. Greg isn't stupid, so he might have picked up on the hints.
I don't buy it. Steven went to Homeworld and was pretty much risking his life because he thought Rose shattered PD. After Steven came back, Greg would have told him the truth to stop him from doing something like that again. Greg doesn't have the same seal of silence like Pearl, so him holding some "promise" higher than Steven's life sounds so terrible. I really doubt that he knew. If anything, he got really close to knowing but always stopped Rose from explaining further. I could even see Rose telling Greg everything about Pink Diamond (her zoo, her homeworld, her involvement in the kindergartens) just to see his reaction to it before she told him the truth. But Greg never let her reveal herself. He's probably a main reason she was able to find peace with it and give Steven her gem. This would explain why Greg knew so much but would also keep him in the dark about Ross's past identity.
If you recall the episode Gem Vacation, he knows next to nothing about Homeworld and wanted the gems to explain things to Steven or at least give a dialogue. Greg simply wants everyone to feel happy and at peace as much as possible, even if it meant wanting to stop people from revealing a terrible truth that would cause emotional pain.
Right? I don’t know why people are looking so into this when he clearly said he didn’t press her for information...there’s no hidden messages, clear... cut and dry....are they running out of theory video ideas lol😂
8Bit Murray GAP didn't hear what Steven told Connie during the fight aboard Aquamarine's ship. Unless Connie repeated it to them...and I don't think she did, because the others would have surely brought up such a dire thing when he came back to Earth...neither they nor Greg would have known about the real basis for Steven's sacrificial/suicidal action. If that's the case, then Greg wouldn't have had sufficient reason to break any promise he'd made to Rose by telling Steven about his mother's true identity. If Greg was at the trial instead of Lars, and it looked like Steven was about to be condemned and executed, then that would be enough of an excuse to play that card.
@ Jokey Vids Media Mash Greg did know nothing about Homeworld, but he never told Steven that gems are aliens until they literally invade again and even that was a slip. He despite not knowing much and not wanting intervene in gems internal politic could in fact know or suspect that Ross was enemy commander, because he was only person who didn't judge her and she definitely told him about her feel of guilt.
While I dont think Greg knew the whole truth, he is not stupid. He may have had a feeling that Rose wasn't entirely the person she tried to be, but Greg being Greg didn't want to pressure her about it, and let her live the way she wanted to. At least that's how I feel. And I honestly think Greg's just super chill and can shrug his shoulders at like anything haha
Not a Bizarre JoJo Rose did betray her own soliders and the people who trusted her and got all but 3 of them killed and imprisoned one of them for trying to help win the war(Bismuth)...
Not a Bizarre JoJo It's possible that she asked him to explain things to Steven when his strongest powers started to show; for example, *corruption*. Because then Steven would *need* to know in order to control his powers properly.
fallen_star_2319 While Steven may have the capacity to have the power of corruption, I don't think he'd ever be able to use it. It seems to be not possible through two ways. One way is that the three diamonds had to combine their powers in order to corrupt the gems. Idk if this was only because it was supposed to be on a large scale, but it's still possible to only just be a group power. Under that idea that corruption can be done by a single diamond, the second possibility could just be that Pink, being a fairly young diamond, might not have had the power of corruption at her age. Because maybe, the power of corruption comes with age.
I think this is a more compelling support for the theory than what's in the video. Did Rose understand that Steven would eventually need to fully understand his gem and its power eventually? If so would she have arranged for him to find out the truth?
I was thinking that back in Steven's Dream when he says he was crying Blue's tears. What if it wasn't Blue's but Pink's? In "A Single Pale Rose", Pink believed that Blue and Yellow won't care if she's gone. (at least that's what I understood from it) Now when she sees Blue and Yellow for the first time in thousands of years, she sees that after all this time they really did care and miss her. Pink sees what she has done to them and is now feeling guilt for what she did.
Pink was referring to that Blue and Yellow the colony of the Earth did not care, she thought that when she disappeared, the colony would be forgotten and they would be left in peace Personally I think it was very cruel what he did, apart from that Pearl did not want to do it and she forced her
Yesika Narvaez It’s possible. If PD/Rose told Greg her secret, it would, well, be a secret. So Pearl wouldn’t know that PD/Rose would’ve told Greg. Therefore, Pearl wouldn’t be mad.
Maybe he figured it out himself, based on his conversations with Rose. And since she never actually told him, he decided not to say anything about it, as it wasn’t his secret to tell.
Ya, that seems more believable, and I imagine she probably at one point almost told him, since he said that she felt like she needed to confess everything to him.
Something I couldn't get out of my head was the rules of shapeshifting set by the show. That a gem could change their appearance, but not the color of their hair or skin. they could even in some rare cases change the color of their clothing (Amethyst's green fanny pack in the episode "Beach Party"). But Pink Diamond could. that's what made me think this twist was a cop out until I thought back all the way to season 1 in the episode "Cat Fingers" where the cats Steven shapeshifted came in yellow, orange, black, brown, spotted, etc. THIS IS A DIAMOND POWER AND IT BLOWS MY MIND!!!
Actually I think Amethyst, basically the Crystal gem shape shifting expert (after Rose's disappearance), has displayed changes in hue, though not for very extended lengths of time. For example when she shape shifted into Jasper to trick the rubies, she was able to make darker bands on her skin similar to Jasper's. When Amethyst shape shifted into Pearl early in the show to make fun of her (the "womp womp" scene), she basically swapped her skin and hair color to look more like Pearl. I think Pink has done a similar thing, only more extreme. I can only explain Cat Fingers by saying that he is an (partially) organic being and the colors of his cats were all still colors humans can make in their hair. I don't see any greys in there, which is a color seen in cats but rarely humans (except for the older and elderly) which might be difficult for Steven to produce. Just reds, brown/blacks, blonds, and whites (as platinums are seen in some people). If he can make *any* human colors though, this gives him so many more possibilities for shape shifting than any other gem. I doubt that the Crewniverse considered that when they wrote the episode and gave him multicolored cats. Nice catch!
Pearl: You'll kill her! Greg: It's her choice. We're having a baby, Pearl. Pearl: You can't do this! If you really cared about her then you wouldn't make her do this! Greg: I Love Her! Pearl: I Need Her! Greg: Well, maybe that's not enough for her! Pearl: You don't deserve her! You don't even know who she is! Greg: I know who she is. Pearl: You don't know! You don't know anything about her! You don't know anything about what she did! What we did! You could never understand her like I do. You will never have what we have! Greg: Well, tell me then. Tell me what I don't know! Pearl: I....I...(Slaps hand over mouth) Greg: Stop covering your mouth and tell me! Pearl: Rose...is...Rose...I...(Slaps hand over mouth and starts struggling to remove it) Greg: Pearl, stop! You're hurting yourself! Pearl: She's mine! She's all I have! She's the only one who....(Slaps hand over her mouth, tears welling up as she struggles, sobbing while pulling at her hand that won't move from her face) Greg: Are you crying? Pearl: She's my...(Slaps hand over mouth and then puts it down) She's my everything. (Grabs Greg by the front of his shirt) My everything! You cant take her away from me! Greg: Pearl... Pearl: What am I going to do when she disappears? I'm going to lose her, just like I lost my...my..(lets go of Greg and slaps hands over mouth. She turns away from him, shoulders shaking. Hand still covering her mouth) Greg: Pearl. (places hand on shoulder) Pearl: Don't Touch Me! Don't you dare! (Turns around angry and crying) Greg:( hug Pearl) It's okay. Pearl: (struggles) Let Me Go! Greg: (Holds on) I'm going to miss her too. Pearl: (Struggles weakly) No...you can't... Greg: You're not going to be alone. Pearl: (Gives in and just cries on his shoulder) Yes, I will. No one else will know. No one else will know about her. I'll be the only one. Greg: No. You won't. I know. Pearl: You know? Greg: I know. Pearl: She Told You! Greg: She felt like she needed to confess everything but I- Pearl: How could she trust you? You cant even take orders! How can she- Greg: I'm not going to tell anyone. Pearl: Trust you More Than me! She...she...(Slaps hand over mouth) Greg: Pearl, its not like that. Pearl: (Uncovers her mouth with shaking hands) She did this to me! So I could be trust with her secret and I stood by her for more than 5000 years. She takes you at your word and you haven't even known her a decade! Greg: Pearl, she loves me! Pearl: She barely even knows you! It's not fair! None of this is fair! I gave up everything for her! Everything! And she just gives it all to you without a thought of me! (Pearl ran away from Greg and he didn't go after her. Watching her run from the fact that she had been used and discarded like a broken weapon.)
I wonder if Greg was also covering Pink Diamond from Homeworld and the Crystal Gems if Rose told him. If Greg doesn't know that Rose Quartz was Pink Diamond in one body, how would he feel?
I don't think he'd care nearly as much as the gems do. Greg was already surprised enough about the little he knew about Rose, so this revelation isn't likely to floor him.
I think that even if Greg knew about Pink Diamond, it wasn't his secret to tell. As much as Steven should know who his mother is, Greg wasn't part of this whole mess. He met Rose as Rose and only Rose, her identity to him didn't matter. It would have been way more meaningful for Pearl to tell him, because of their history together.
Hey, I reviewed the episode, "Say Uncle", and noticed something quite interesting. It seems that there is a large possibility that Mr. Gus, knew that Rose Quartz was actually Pink Diamond and in turn, Steven. As he said, "I have comprehensive knowledge on all magical beings..." and knew about Steven and the Crystal Gems.
Nev: [googles Roses phone number] Max: WOAH WE GOT A HIT Nev: Wow look at this the phone number is registered to a “Pink Diamond”???? Max: Woah that’s so crazy who is this Nev: Yeah idk we better go tell Greg
I don't think he knew. Rose may have told him something, but even if she did, he wouldn't have understood what any of that meant. And she wouldn't have told him about being Pink. She wanted that one buried and not be a Diamond anymore. Telling Greg would have been a terrible risk to her as one word from him would have had Garnet on her case something fierce. She could control her Pearl, but not a human. That was the whole fascination of them to her. Being individuals and free to act on their own notions. Forming social units out of free choice. She told him of the war, but he likely never knew the details or the big picture. Just interesting stories from that time. Some rough points, maybe. But no. Only Pearl knew Rose was really Pink Diamond.
Nope. He didnt know. Like you said Greg said there was a lot of things about herself she didnt like to talk about so he didnt ask. PLUS! Pink said to Pearl that nobody can ever know about that and I think she meant that. And even if she tried to tell him, Greg probably stopped her. All greg knows is she turned on her own kind to save the earth kinda the same as Garnet. That being said though anything is possible!
Beautifully A Threat she is like the United States of America Rose like George Washington believed in freedom and Liberty 🗽. Rose and Washington went to war [Civil War] against the Crown and Diamond Authority. George Washington lost 25,000 men and women he caused 25,000 Englishmen and women to fall both sides Rose Quartz lost millions Rose Quartz caused her Race to Nearly fall into extinction Homeworld lost Millions
There's also Vidalia's episode ("Maximum Capacity") where we're introduced to Amethyst and Greg as good friends and she keeps shapeshifting for him while they're hanging out. She's keeping him from work, Steven, etc. and she says she's only trying to make him feel better, but he gets upset -- not because he missed Steven's event, but he says "Amethyst, you know how I feel about shapeshifting." Maybe he did know a lil something something about the whole Pink Diamond thing!
The moment I saw this video in my "recommended" section and started to think about it, I realized, he most likely did know. I can't really add any pressing evidence to your case, but for me all those foreshadowing moments really add up.
There's a variation of this theory I've seen and kinda like that suggests Rose never quite got to the point of outright TELLING Greg she was Pink, but he still managed to piece together the truth on his own via context clues she gave off and then just went, "You know what, who cares? All that matters is the here and now."
@ Cam Nunes Did no one remember discussion between Greg and Steven from The Return? Greg did know whole time who gems are (alien invaders) and keep that to himself and that Ross turn against her kind due to her guilt. In fact it is highly probably they he either know or did suspect who she was.
I think Pink having told Greg the truth would make Pearl's forced silence useless. So I hope she didn't. It would just make everything Pearl went through useless, since she just told someone what she made sure Pearl would never be able to talk about. Plus, Greg not pressing her for details on the past and loving her for who she is might be a reason she loved him, not something due to him knowing who she is.
Don’t forget the other part of that conversation in The Return, where Steven says “Maybe when Peridot gets to earth, she’ll see how nice all the people are and she won’t wanna hurt anyone” and Greg replies with “Just like your mother”
There is something off about what the diamond seems to know about Pink diamond or Rose quartz. I've re-watched the Trial episode recently. What really stand out to me this time was what Yellow Diamond said at the end of the episode (in the background while Lars and Steven were escaping). She was claiming to Blue how pointless was all of this. And Blue replying "No It's not". What was not right about this episode was two things : The reaction of Yellow, the strange obstination of blue Diamond (she had to know how Pink was shattered for some reason while she already knew this information) and the none-presence of White Diamond or whatever her name is. And maybe last one, it doesn't seem like home world to have trials, yet along for a traitorous war criminal who shattered a diamond (and EVERYBODY believe this version of the story except herself and a pearl who can't even talk about it). And I really think ... that this trial might just be a a big mascarade. For what I don't know but there is something off. If someone here wants to go further than me on this point go ahead, I'm interested ... (Sorryforbadenglish)
I kind of agree with you! But you have to remember the existence of gems like the Zircons, who are essentially /made/ to be lawyers, and the presence of the court room itself. I think they only held trials for the most reasonous crimes. Anything "lesser" (like, say, a soldier fusing with an important court member), would just result in shattering. I think Blue was starting to become suspicious about it, especially when Steven didn't know what weapon was used.
Yeah, the trial can be just as genuine. But I get the feeling (like some people) that the white diamond none-presence and the strange reactions of Yellow and the obsessions of Blue hide some other motivations that we don't know about. I feel like hints of it will be revealed when we'll know more about the personality of White Diamond and her role on Homeworld ;)
Hmm ... I dunno Vox. I can't help remembering how Pink/Rose spoke with Greg in that 'fusion flashback' episode, I felt like for a long time Rose never really took Greg seriously ... until they decided to have Steven I guess? I'm just not sure she would have told him, cos then he would have had to keep that from their son until Steven found out for himself. I just don't know, but I'm looking forward to finding out! Love ya Vox =^_^=
Oof. I know you know now, and this video probably came out before the episode, but Greg’s line “your mom never told me she was pink diamond but I never told her I used to be Gregory DeMayo”
Honestly IF this is true then this makes pink diamond an even worse person in my eyes. If she could tell Greg the truth then she could lift the gagging order on Pearl (because she only wanted to shut her up just because she didn't want 'to look back' or for anyone to know the truth so the gagging order becomes redundant when pink diamond has shared the truth herself) which has cause Pearl so much grief for over 5000 years. If this was revealed to be true then it would show how little pink diamond trusted and cared for pearl.
She cared for pearl she called her my pearl like my diamond so she was important to her she didn't get her and she asked her to she didn't have to do it and is pearl her pearl because she would have pink skin
Bingo Bongo, because of Homeworld's lack of responsibility of the shattering robonoids which, one of them killed you by explosion after you destroyed it, Homeworld will be sued for $100,000 given to you and your parents. Negligence that Homeworld has committed.
Well...maybe you're right. With the twist of Pink Diamond now settled into our brains it gives a lot of things in the show to rethink and recontextualize those to the recent new knowledge.
Honestly I only needed half the lines that you mentioned and I assumed Greg knew.. but now that you pointed out the other half. I'm Positive Greg knew. The biggest line still feels like the line about "Felt she needed to confess everything", that, and he never told Steven "no" for the question about Pink Diamond, He didn't flinch, he didn't act like he didn't even know what he was talking about, etc He just rolled with it, slick as could be and dodged the question with a bit of a confession about confessions.
I know this video came out a month before it came out, but in the episode "The Question" Greg says "She never told me she used to be Pink Diamond". This was a good theory and I know I'm like super late but I just wanted to say this in case anyone missed him saying this
My only issue with this is that when Greg trys to fuse with Rose and it fails they talk and one bit that sticks out to me is he says "There's so much I don't know about you" to which Rose reply "That's good"
It won't kill things if it doesn't turn out to be the case, but I think that Greg knew that Rose Quartz was once Pink Diamond. When Steven straight up asked his dad if Rose ever talked about Pink Diamond, Greg was evasive. He went on to say that there were things that Steven's mother didn't like to talk about, and that he never pressed her, but then added that Rose seemed to want to confess everything to him. Unlike GAP, the name "Pink Diamond" is just words to Greg. He changed his own name from DeMayo to Universe, so altering one's past identity is no big deal to him. It also makes sense that Rose would want to make sure that Greg knew about the "person" he was attaching himself to, and that in case something bad happened to Pearl there would be at least one other to be able to tell Steven about his heritage.
Gregs message is sometimes parents don't know everything about your mom or dad or what their friends got up to. But he will give them a chance to understand them but will be firm if their actions hurt others. And a conduit for young children watching to understand such complex relationships that could be going on in their own homes.
PLEASE READ I have a theory that PINK DIOMAND\Rose quartz is the person singing Escapism performed by rebecca sugar MK podcast Due to her fighting between earth and homeworld
In the scene with Blue & Greg, it just hit me that they were discussing the same gem & didn’t realize it! Blue was mourning Pink & Greg was missing Rose, who we now know to be Pink! Mind blown! 🤯
There definitely needs to be an episode in the future about the day Steven was born. On the day Steven was born, it could be possible that Rose's form started glitching out the closer she came to giving birth to Steven, and as a result of that it could have caused her to briefly revert back to her true form of Pink Diamond. If Greg was there with her when Steven was born, he could have seen it, and in her final moments Pink Diamond might have asked Greg to promise her that he would not to tell anyone else about it.
Roundtable I can't wait till 400k it felt just like yesterday when you all made that 300k vid. Keep making entertaining vids and keep showing love for ur fans and animation
when blue diamond finds out, shes gonna be mind blown. just imagine that you were told that the person who killed your best friend, is your best friend, and you gave orders to try and have them killed. blue diamond would have been the person who shattered pink diamond! (if her guards were better)
yeeeesssss i love this thoeryyy. it would give greg such a deeper level to his character and it would just be great for him to be like "thank gOD you guys know now. you know how hard it was to keep that a secret?"
yet Greg said Rose felt she had to confess everything to him. at this point, it's possible he did know, but we, the fans, won't know for sure until an episode either approves this theory or debunks it
Exactly! Though from The Return we know that he know something even if he was oblivious to exact internal politic of gems, so he could be not aware of the significance.
Now wouldn’t that just be the biggest slap in the face to Pearl? Oh man. My heart is breaking at the concept. She can never tell anyone, but Rose is over here confiding in the man that “took Rose away.” I think that could really hurt her. Now I want the fanart or fanfics so I can cry while viewing them.
Get kidnapped by giant blue woman, gets taken into space, gets put into a human zoo with purple guards and saved by steven. "Thats gotta be like the 3rd craziest weekend ive ever had"
anything magic related makes Greg uncomfortable bc some magic event took out some of his hair and gave him that pink sun tan. (i read this somewhere a long time ago, so i can't provide a link. just google it and something should come up)
@Topaz 96 greg got a sun tan from being in the sun too long...it was literally in a flash back episode. also @Madison Ganuelas I do find it weird, we never really got the reason why he's uncomfortable with shapeshifting. we understand why Pearl doesnt like it/do it. But we never got the info on why Greg doesn't i feel like it has something to do with Rose/Pink Diamond
Ronaldo yet they base the gems on real life gemstones. I highly doubt they're gonna make a sun tan Greg got years ago stick. I literally read somewhere that it was magic related. But, to be fair, let's just agree to disagree and move on. I dont really know if what i read is true and no one will know for sure until the series is over. If u wanna believe that it's a suntan that never goes away then fine. But i will keep thinking rose/pink diamond giving birth to steven did it lol
"Greg, im Pink Diamond." "What?" "Yeah, its crazy." "I give up my own form, rebel against my superiors, and fake my own death." "Fake your own death!?" "Look Rose, why did you have to tell me this?" "I cant anymore, i had to tell you, i cant bottle it up anymore." "Rose, the past is the past, just let go, what matters is who you are now."
"Well, in every saying goes "If porkchops were perfect, we wouldn't have hotdogs...Despite all of that, let's just put your thorny past aside, youre still pink as a rose to me 🤷
I don't think Rose told Greg. But she wanted to. And Greg had an idea, but he didnt push it, because he knows what it is like to walk away from the past. Meanwhile Pearl was afraid Rose would tell Greg because of how close they were.
I have a feeling (and I’ve had this for a long time, since the beginning) that Steven is just another form Pink Diamond took, only maybe more permanent. It could explain a lot liek how he has her memories or how lion recognizes him instantly 🤔
Amy Rodriguez lol. Funny how simply not liking a joke can suddenly make you "edgy". Besides, YOU yourself said that humor is subjective. Did you even read your own comment?
I loved this theory THE ROUNDTABLE, keep on the good work. Always with you. I think that greg don't know that rose is pink diamond because she told her the past is the past all matters is who you are now. right?
I personally think that he did know, as he said that Rose felt guilty about keeping so many secrets and confided in him many things she felt uncomfortable with, but that given how she may have told him, has; 1. Had no bearing on their relationship, although he would have appreciated her sharing this secret, he said it himself, "the past is the past, it's who you are now that matters". 2. Would not understand the full gravity of this fact and thus wouldn't think it's a big deal. Either, way, whether he knew this or not, he's not going to stop having feelings about Rose, same goes for Pearl, which will be interesting going forward if Garnet is indeed going to hold a grudge against her.
Whoa, this is actually a very legit theory. I think that Rose most likely didn't tell Greg about her really being Pink Diamond, and probably only talked about it with Pearl, but I guess we'll just have to see.
Now that you've brought it up, this really makes sense! Especially with how he acted in The Return! My impression of greg's personality, his reactions, especially in his younger years, may have been a mix of shock and awe, but also of at least slight disregard, to brush it off some. Less of an impact for something that happen a LONG time before he came around. But he speaks so /intensely/ about it in that scene. As if he'd actually been there. And hey, who's to say he WASN'T there? In a way, at least. Moonbase orb perhaps? If Rose really wanted to impart how serious it'd all been, or heck, even Pearl, maybe, if she wanted to press the intensity of their past.
I don’t think Greg would willingly hold back this information. If he thought Steven was in danger from the other Diamonds because Rose was really Pink, Greg would’ve said something. I don’t think Greg would’ve even helped Rose have Steven if he thought Steven would’ve been hunted down by the Galaxy for Rose’s crimes.
As always, this is just us entertaining the possibility of something. Not necessarily 100% what we believe :)
I Do Not Think He Knows That.
No he did in
The Roundtable I I’m one of your fan I was here in since the beginning of your youtube channle
Hes had to have known

You left out one very important scene, when Greg dances with Rose after attempting to fuse...
“I barely know you.”
“That’s a good thing.”

Duuuuude if he DOES know, Pearl is gonna be piiiiiiiiisssed
Nicole Eckert she squak
Your right 😅
hahahahahahahaha
Extra salt. Too much to begin with. (Means Pearl would be super extra insanely tons of salty.)
Unless she already knows he knows...
Think about how Greg rebelled against his family and left to become a Universe instead of a Demayo.

Preach! 👏
MissConstruct he breaks the dad stereotype.
Magic Avocado
Exactly
As good father example we also have Professor Utonium, from Power Puff Girls
MissConstruct what about Katara and Sokka's dad in Avatar?
She probably tried to tell him but he didn’t let her like he told Steven.
It might've been the moment she does feel guilty for her actions.
Huh?
That's what i was thinking (and ranting to myself lol at the video)
Theres a small (but lowkey big) hole in this theory maybe Greg is talking about rose as rose in the past not "oh hey I'm pink diamond" type of rose
According to garnet (or pearl I forgot) rose kept a lot of secrets even from them so when Greg said they talked about serious things even the past she might of (like was said in the video) felt compelled to tell him out of guilt/sadness about what happened and how this all started but as she was about to tell him Greg stopped her and told her "the past is in the past" which made her drop the subject and since Greg's not one to press for details it fits all the more better.
It would be one heck of a plot twist again but it really wouldn't make sense to me plus we just had a big plot twist do we really need another one? I'm all for it(love plot twists) but what's the point lol
That's actually what was said and Greg's character has given me no reason to believe otherwise.
8Bit Murray
GAP didn't hear what Steven told Connie during the fight aboard Aquamarine's ship.

Greg did know nothing about Homeworld, but he never told Steven that gems are aliens until they literally invade again and even that was a slip. He despite not knowing much and not wanting intervene in gems internal politic could in fact know or suspect that Ross was enemy commander, because he was only person who didn't judge her and she definitely told him about her feel of guilt.
TheRezro just no...Steven knew they were “aliens” Steven knew they were not human. Are you that dense
I don't think Rose would've wanted Greg to be guilty of knowing her secret and keeping it from Steven.
Not a Bizarre JoJo Rose did betray her own soliders and the people who trusted her and got all but 3 of them killed and imprisoned one of them for trying to help win the war(Bismuth)...
Well bismuth was out of hand but she changed she isn't betray anyone
Pink sees what she has done to them and is now feeling guilt for what she did.
i would have believed that until I saw Blue Diamond make all the other gems in the court room cry
Pink was referring to that Blue and Yellow the colony of the Earth did not care, she thought that when she disappeared, the colony would be forgotten and they would be left in peace
Personally I think it was very cruel what he did, apart from that Pearl did not want to do it and she forced her

Pretty SURE he doesn't know her deepest darkest secret man, cause IF he did Pearl be squawking *EVERYWHERE RN*
Yesika Narvaez It’s possible. If PD/Rose told Greg her secret, it would, well, be a secret. So Pearl wouldn’t know that PD/Rose would’ve told Greg. Therefore, Pearl wouldn’t be mad.
Did Rose tell her secret to Greg in secret?
Elebrony adding a secret to his list of secrets secretly XD, I had to quote SpongeBob XD
No theory is too dumb
Not to mention as Diamond stuff came up, Greg would have told Steven who (s)he really was/is.
Maybe he figured it out himself, based on his conversations with Rose. And since she never actually told him, he decided not to say anything about it, as it wasn’t his secret to tell.
mnmgirls0288 Probably more likely, I believe.
Ya, that seems more believable, and I imagine she probably at one point almost told him, since he said that she felt like she needed to confess everything to him.
mnmgirls0288 he probably also wasn’t 100% sure that his theory was correct so he probably just kept it to himself, even when Steven was in danger
THIS IS A DIAMOND POWER AND IT BLOWS MY MIND!!!
k
Nice catch!

Blasian Persuasion it’s not a cop out.
Pearl: I....I...(Slaps hand over mouth)
Greg: Stop covering your mouth and tell me!
Pearl: Rose...is...Rose...I...(Slaps hand over mouth and starts struggling to remove it)
Greg: Pearl, stop! You're hurting yourself!
Pearl: She's mine! She's all I have! She's the only one who....(Slaps hand over her mouth, tears welling up as she struggles, sobbing while pulling at her hand that won't move from her face)
Greg: Are you crying?
Pearl: She's my...(Slaps hand over mouth and then puts it down) She's my everything. (Grabs Greg by the front of his shirt) My everything! You cant take her away from me!
Greg: Pearl...
Pearl: What am I going to do when she disappears? I'm going to lose her, just like I lost my...my..(lets go of Greg and slaps hands over mouth. She turns away from him, shoulders shaking. Hand still covering her mouth)
Greg: Pearl. (places hand on shoulder)
Pearl: Don't Touch Me! Don't you dare! (Turns around angry and crying)
Greg:( hug Pearl) It's okay.
Greg: She felt like she needed to confess everything but I-
Pearl: How could she trust you? You cant even take orders! How can she-
Greg: I'm not going to tell anyone.
Pearl: Trust you More Than me! She...she...(Slaps hand over mouth)
Greg: Pearl, its not like that.
Tamera Farly wow

Tamera Farly how do you like me meow?
reaper sans Lol, you got me
She didn't use pearl i don't think she even knew pearl felt this way because rose dated men before and pearl said nothing
I wonder if Greg was also covering Pink Diamond from Homeworld and the Crystal Gems if Rose told him. If Greg doesn't know that Rose Quartz was Pink Diamond in one body, how would he feel?
cgGrizzlyB92HD he isnt really involved in the gems storyline, so he probably wouldn't care.
cgGrizzlyB92HD
you are a Bear 🐻 how are you so wise?
Is i if he'd freak out of not because a lot of calm characters freak out like sapphire
I think he would probably be upset about it
I don't think he'd care nearly as much as the gems do.
Nev: [googles Roses phone number]
Max: WOAH WE GOT A HIT
Nev: Wow look at this the phone number is registered to a “Pink Diamond”????
Max: Woah that’s so crazy who is this
Nev: Yeah idk we better go tell Greg
Rens omg! I love this reference!
Rens as a fan of Catfish, i love this comment.
You deserve this like
I love this comment.

Björn Czaia agreed.

Don't mean to be immature here but I find it funny how this episode of crystal clear is about greg and roses relationship and it's episode 69.

My fav human is Lars... but only after he's resurrected so does he count as a human
@@sneakyquirrel4879 yeah he just have powers and have slow aging like steven
There's a variation of this theory I've seen and kinda like that suggests Rose never quite got to the point of outright TELLING Greg she was Pink, but he still managed to piece together the truth on his own via context clues she gave off and then just went, "You know what, who cares? All that matters is the here and now."
I don’t think he did realize that she was pink diamond
Maybe Not.
Joel Thompson who knows
Yes, Who Knows? The Answer Is, The Creators Of The Show!
Rainbow Quartz95 I agree, she probably didn't want Greg the guilt of lying to his son every day
@
Cam Nunes
Did no one remember discussion between Greg and Steven from The Return?
Garance I think you’re on to something
my god if he didn't, poor greg.
Totally Not a FanficReader oh my hi I didn't think I will find you here! That's so lucky 😄
OMG HIIIIIIIIIII
Totally Not a FanficReader lol hi I was Surprise when I see you here right and hey It was a huge twist right of Steven was pink diamond
i was spoiled 5 MINUTES before getting to the part!
Totally Not a FanficReader hey is there a new video of your coming ?
I think she tells him because of steven
.she knows that pearl.didn't tell something so she wanted that greg tells him someday maybe.
Ruha nah I think Greg doesn’t know. I believe that’s what is in the chest. Is a letter explaining that she’s pink diamond
Lars can double jump
Bingo Bongo, Lars hi, now we got three magical power Pink beings, you, me, and Lion.
Bingo Bongo Honestly, it should have been Bingo Bango Bongo
Yaaaas
Bingo Bongo Wait, what do you mean?
Also that youtube name... 👍👌
Bingo Bongo, because of Homeworld's lack of responsibility of the shattering robonoids which, one of them killed you by explosion after you destroyed it, Homeworld will be sued for $100,000 given to you and your parents. Negligence that Homeworld has committed.
What if Greg just thought that the gems already told steven
Broken_Chillz nah probably not, bc steven asked about PD to greg. He would have been confused and just said Rose and PD were the same person
Well...maybe you're right. With the twist of Pink Diamond now settled into our brains it gives a lot of things in the show to rethink and recontextualize those to the recent new knowledge.
Maybe Greg was so understanding towards Blue because they _both_ were grieving the same gem
Honestly I only needed half the lines that you mentioned and I assumed Greg knew.. but now that you pointed out the other half. I'm Positive Greg knew.
The biggest line still feels like the line about "Felt she needed to confess everything", that, and he never told Steven "no" for the question about Pink Diamond, He didn't flinch, he didn't act like he didn't even know what he was talking about, etc
He just rolled with it, slick as could be and dodged the question with a bit of a confession about confessions.
I know this video came out a month before it came out, but in the episode "The Question" Greg says "She never told me she used to be Pink Diamond". This was a good theory and I know I'm like super late but I just wanted to say this in case anyone missed him saying this
My only issue with this is that when Greg trys to fuse with Rose and it fails they talk and one bit that sticks out to me is he says "There's so much I don't know about you" to which Rose reply "That's good"
Last time I was this early, Rose was Pink Diamo--
....
What do you mean it's already been confirmed??
It also makes sense that Rose would want to make sure that Greg knew about the "person" he was attaching himself to, and that in case something bad happened to Pearl there would be at least one other to be able to tell Steven about his heritage.
i totally agree.
I don't know but it would be awesome if Greg knew about Rose being Pink Diamond
What he saying in The Return suggest that he did..
Gregs message is sometimes parents don't know everything about your mom or dad or what their friends got up to. But he will give them a chance to understand them but will be firm if their actions hurt others. And a conduit for young children watching to understand such complex relationships that could be going on in their own homes.
PLEASE READ
I have a theory that PINK DIOMAND\Rose quartz is the person singing Escapism performed by rebecca sugar MK podcast
Due to her fighting between earth and homeworld
In the scene with Blue & Greg, it just hit me that they were discussing the same gem & didn’t realize it! Blue was mourning Pink & Greg was missing Rose, who we now know to be Pink! Mind blown! 🤯
if he does know I hope we get a flashback episode of pink telling him
There definitely needs to be an episode in the future about the day Steven was born.
Greg is also not a stereotypical dumb cartoon dad.
傭兵Cloud we kinda already went over this a long time ago, sorry
Amy Rodriguez awe. :(
Roundtable I can't wait till 400k it felt just like yesterday when you all made that 300k vid.
PurplePerson well she probably wouldn’t have shattered her because she would have probably took it out
No he just knew she has secrets and he probably trys not to pry and let her tell him when she's ready
Didnt Greg tell Amathyst during that little butler episode how much he hates shape shifting? Could that be hinting towards his knowledge of Pink?
yeeeesssss i love this thoeryyy. it would give greg such a deeper level to his character and it would just be great for him to be like "thank gOD you guys know now. you know how hard it was to keep that a secret?"
I don't thing Greg knew per say, but I think he suspected Rose wasn't being completely honest about her past
Well Rose wanted to tell him everything, but Greg told her not to worry about it. So we know she wanted to be honest.
Same
I like this theory. It also shows how much Rose loved and trusted Greg enough to tell him a secret only one other person knows about.
Didn't PD tell Pearl not to mention the event ever again?
yet Greg said Rose felt she had to confess everything to him. at this point, it's possible he did know, but we, the fans, won't know for sure until an episode either approves this theory or debunks it
I don't think he knew.. But I bet he's gonna know really soon 7w7
Get kidnapped by giant blue woman, gets taken into space, gets put into a human zoo with purple guards and saved by steven.
"Thats gotta be like the 3rd craziest weekend ive ever had"
Also shapeshifting makes Greg uncomfortable as mentioned when amethyst and him hang out in the storage room
anything magic related makes Greg uncomfortable bc some magic event took out some of his hair and gave him that pink sun tan.
Ronaldo uhm, a sun tan from that long ago does not stick. he has a pink tint to his skin bruh
its cartoon logic not real life logic when it comes to stuff like this.
"Greg, im Pink Diamond."
"What?"
"Yeah, its crazy."
"I give up my own form, rebel against my superiors, and fake my own death."
"Fake your own death!?"
"Look Rose, why did you have to tell me this?"
"I cant anymore, i had to tell you, i cant bottle it up anymore."
"Rose, the past is the past, just let go, what matters is who you are now."
"Well, in every saying goes "If porkchops were perfect, we wouldn't have hotdogs...Despite all of that, let's just put your thorny past aside, youre still pink as a rose to me 🤷
I SAY HE KNEW!!!!
Kid Nerd, Probably since she has told lots of things to him, and as well having the same amount of trust to him as Pearl
Yes
I like to think he knows, but i guess we won’t know for certain until it comes up in the show.
Yeah me too , I think she told him but he might not put two and two together.
I don't think Rose told Greg. But she wanted to. And Greg had an idea, but he didnt push it, because he knows what it is like to walk away from the past. Meanwhile Pearl was afraid Rose would tell Greg because of how close they were.
Greg is amazing
I have a feeling (and I’ve had this for a long time, since the beginning) that Steven is just another form Pink Diamond took, only maybe more permanent. It could explain a lot liek how he has her memories or how lion recognizes him instantly 🤔
*W h a t w e r e a l l y a r e*
He must have known, which could be why he tends to avoid questions about Pink Diamond.
Yo everyone rewatch the episode where ranaldo kidnapped Steven in season one. They let you know from the beginning
I can imagine steven being furious that Greg knew this and never told him
I know I say this a lot but Vox is still Salty!
Nowon & DPool Productions then you should watch others like slice of outako ranting lapis
its not funny anymore
A Guardian Angel Humor is subjective, you should try to stop being edgy and laugh a little
Amy Rodriguez so if they personally don't find a joke funny you call them edgy. totally makes sense😑.
Amy Rodriguez lol. Funny how simply not liking a joke can suddenly make you "edgy". Besides, YOU yourself said that humor is subjective. Did you even read your own comment?
I loved this theory THE ROUNDTABLE, keep on the good work. Always with you. I think that greg don't know that rose is pink diamond because she told her the past is the past all matters is who you are now. right?
I see Greg and I click
And good video!!!
PEARL WOULD BE PISSED
FINNALLLY
I personally think that he did know, as he said that Rose felt guilty about keeping so many secrets and confided in him many things she felt uncomfortable with, but that given how she may have told him, has;
Well... this theory was quickly debunked.
One thing you really need to try is listen to Escapism but try to see the lyrics to Pink/Rose’s eyes, to be honest it’s kinda cool
I don’t think he did.
Pearl would not of mentioned Pink in her song because she was forbidden from talking about it by pink's last order to her as a diamond
I like Greg Universe
In the new episode The Question (which came out this week) it is revealed that Greg didn’t know but also wasn’t too upset about it.
Im a lil late
Triggered Ruby same
Triggered Ruby the voice i heard in my head when i read this comment sounded like a dehydrated, angry Ruby xD
I’ve been watching your videos for the past few hours, and then I updated it and I get this! These are some really great videos!
Lars is the same color as lion... lion is the same color as Pink Diamond... just a small thought
Random Song lion was roses/pink diamonds, this is what we already know so what are you trying to get at?
Lars is Pink Diamond confirmed?
Richie Rich 22 Yes.... yes that'll totally work 😂
The sun is white..... White Diamond is also white...... just a small thought
Random Song It's a well known fact at this point. Are you trying to say that Greg could have guessed based on that? That wouldn't add up either.
Whoa, this is actually a very legit theory. I think that Rose most likely didn't tell Greg about her really being Pink Diamond, and probably only talked about it with Pearl, but I guess we'll just have to see.
Is rainbow quartz still rainbow quartz You know since she isn't a quartz
Like Rose said, gems already know who they are when they come up, fusion or not.
that has nothing to do with their question...
Rose and Greg are just two of a kind as Pink and Gregory.
Quartz Universe vs Demayo Diamond
No.
Eh watermelon
Greg in Maximum Capacity: "Amethyst, you know how I feel about *shapeshifting* ..."
FIRST?
IM FIRST!
No one cares
Hater
Goku Black Rosè haters gon hate
wow good job! i'm NEVER first
This is actually one of the theories that you guys have made that I actually believe
Howdy
I don’t think Greg would willingly hold back this information. If he thought Steven was in danger from the other Diamonds because Rose was really Pink, Greg would’ve said something. I don’t think Greg would’ve even helped Rose have Steven if he thought Steven would’ve been hunted down by the Galaxy for Rose’s crimes.
First!
OMG Congrats.
Good job
You get a cookie
I'm first.
Nobody cares!!
This was the first question I thought off when they made the reveal. I'm surprised it took so long for someone on TH-cam to make a video about it.
