Ordered mine. Should be here tomorrow. I think Its a very specific device for a very specific customer. I wanted something I could take on my multiday adventures and can take a beating (for example, im doing a two weeks overlanding trip through the Kalahari desert in three weeks). I did plenty of research and for my needs should be the perfect device 1) Lightroom has a native ARM edition. Been also playing a little with Luminar neo , also ARM 2) I want something with a large SSD so I can offload the video of my FX30 and do basic edits and a little light color correction (Resolve, my video editor of choice also has an ARM version) 3) SD card because I dont want to live that dongle live 4) Great screen 5) Great battery I was really looking forward to your one month review. Did you try resolve? Plenty of people leaving Adobe.. and I also agree, gigantic brain fart from the geniuses at ASUS by not including a 3.5mm jack... dont know what the F were they thinking. Thank you for your review!!! Regards from Switzerland!!!
Hi! I really like this machine. I would mainly use it for browsing, filming and reading comics in tablet mode. the 16:10 aspect ratio, the oled display and the 13" windows and the long operating time are important. could you recommend this machine or even another one for this purpose? Thanks.
Thanks for this professional review. It's a little light for pro photographers and video editors although not bad. Still I think others do better overall, like the Honor with their magicbook art 14 or Apple and even Samsung to name a few
Do You know when we will start getting new devices with AMD strix CPU and if makers are planning to connect them with 40xx Nvidia graphics cards or waiting for 50xx ??
Asus time to do detachable for 1k price range. Even though I could buy this one in a heart beat, I still can't justify buying an ARM detachable with nearly 2k price tag just for emails, working with documents (both microsoft office & google docs), occasional trades, & entertainment.
i thought many apps will release arm versions after a month or two of the snapdragon x chips release, but it seems that this platform isn't not really being taken seriously by software developers
I would buy it immediately and it'll be very popular if they put the latest AMD Ryzen 9 HX370 or Intel Ultra 7 258v chips and beat the upcoming Surface Pro tablets. Putting the lowest of the lowest Snapdragon chips and charging high price is a very bad decision. At least give an option to upgrade to X Elite like the Surface Pro 11 has in the same form factor.
it's a 9/10 device for me except that it's a snapdragon chip, not that i don't like the chip because of its performance, it's just that most of my apps don't support arm... so yeah😢
BenG and bros please what do you think about this legion 5 slim : Processore: Processore AMD Ryzen™ 7 8845HS (da 3,8 GHz fino a 5,1 GHz) • Sistema operativo: Windows 11 Home 64 • Lingua del sistema operativo: Windows 11 Home 64 inglese/italiano • Microsoft Productivity Software: Microsoft Office (versione di valutazione) • Memoria: 16 GB DDR5-5.600MHz (SODIMM) • Prima unità disco fisso: 1 TB SSD M.2 2280 PCle Gen4 TLC - upgrade selezionato • Tipo di schermo: 16" WQXGA (2.560 x 1.600), IPS, antiriflesso, non-touch, HDR 400, sRGB 100%, 500 nit, 240 Hz, mascherina sottile, bassa emissione di luce blu • Scheda grafica: GPU per notebook NVIDIA® GeForce RTX™ 4060 8GB GDDR6
I'm not fan of Arm CPUs in laptops, at least not now. Still got the feeling that they are some kind of beta versions and causing more troubles in day to day use than benefits. At this moment if Iwould be looking for power efficiency I think intel lunar lake looks comparable to Snapdragon and we would not have all those issues with software compatibility. Plus as a new product that wants to cut a piece of cake from the market they are simply too expensive.

there is arm version of blender if i am not mistaken, not sure what kind of 3D modelling you mean though, I am not sure if CAD works fine on arm.

Great video. You covered every reason I don't like 2-in-1 tablets.
