Got hit with type 2 in March. Got put on metformin but I was experiencing neuropathy. By sheer dumb luck I stumbled across Dr Bergs video on metformin and increasing the B vitamins. Neuropathy went away. Studied his videos on keto and now I'm down 65 pounds, numbers are down across the board, and I have a stupid amount of energy and I'm never hungry. Dr Berg is the truth.

Lots of good information by Dr. Berg !
But , “ monitoring your blood sugar “ or blood pressure is vitally important , if you make any changes to your diet or supplement changes !
I personally do everything in writing on a daily bases not only for me but my wife in case of an emergency .
My doctor is always notified through My Chart if I decide to try something different than my prescription medications !
What your doctor doesn’t know about your experimenting may very well put your life at risk between your 6 month checkups !

You know, today I had my cleaning at the dentists and my hygienist said, "Your home care is very good." And I told her I'm on a low carb diet with no sugar (I bought a water pick as well). But really, that was a huge affirmation that the diet and the care is the best not only for losing fat but holistically for better health.

Love the success comments! Dr Berg's videos helped me too. I'm almost ketovoire but did strict no grains, no sugar, no bad oils etc plus intermittent fasting for about 6 months 4 years ago. Dropped the 33 lbs to 120 and have stayed here ever since. Added D3K2 at that time, and never stopped it. In a few weeks my lungs were so healed or restored, I never used the new inhalers prescribed following a winter virus.
I use coconut oil and heavy cream in coffee everyday. Still avoid those sugars and toxins most of the time and like intermittent fasting. I'm 72 and working with 2 paet time jobs.

My BP dropped from a consistent 145/90 to 110/70 within weeks of cutting sugar out of my diet and reducing carbs. My fasting glucose also came down from the mid to high 90’s to the low 80’s. Not a single doctor ever told me that sugar and carbs were responsible for my BP....I found out by accident. That is down right WRONG that people are not being given the right information.

I was always told to avoid SALT. What a lie....Salt is a mineral and is needed by the body. My weight also dropped from 200 to 188 within a month. I now keep my total carbs/sugar under a 100 grams per day and have been maintaining excellent vitals. Don’t miss the old me at all!👍

Brilliant. I was a night shift worker and developing all the signs of diabetes. I was getting sugar shakes so bad that I had to eat just before exercise, and sometimes have a snack during just to keep my energy levels up. I heard about intermittent fasting and decided to implement one rule: I would not eat between going to bed at 2pm, and getting home at 9am the next day. All my eating was done in a small window, and I never ate at night when I was working. After a short period of suffering, my energy levels quickly elevated, and now I dont need to shovel food down my gullet just to function. Great advice

I've been insulin resistant for 65 of my 67 years; started keto on 9/1/20 after listening to and absorbing the information you provide, and while my a1c was already under control with what I thought was "correct" eating (I was diagnosed with T2 diabetes 20 months ago, but no insulin. I asked my doctor to let me control it with diet), I know that it's even better now that I've finally gained the understanding needed for why it's necessary to give up all sugars. I don't even use stevia or monk fruit because my GI tract cannot tolerate the effects of even erythritol, so I just don't eat anything sweet anymore. I'm also OMAD, finding that I just cannot cram so much food into my body now---I have no idea how to consume 7 cups of vegetables in one day, though I like veggies VERY much---and my sleep quality has improved drastically, thankfully!
SO many benefits, and that's only eight days in, with me still eating wrong (I was eating fruit) the first four days.

After seeing first hand what medications did to special people in my life I refused the medication. My next A1C test was 8.1. I still refused the diabetes medication. My next A1C test result was 6.1. @@Kube_Dog You are right, we all have different bodies, we don't have the same degree of insulin resistance. That's why I believe that the time frame he suggested was variable, he said 3-8+months. I would not expect someone with diabetes to reverse his insulin resistance in a 3 months. I would not expect something which developed over years to go away in days. For me it was important to know if it would take years or I would see an improvement of my insulin resistance symptoms in few months.
I would trust Dr. Berg because of his long time experience in this field.

Also one thing to look at, high fructose corn syrup is in almost everything. Avoid it like a plague. 6 months consuming it can lead to non alcoholic fatty liver. Could be dealing with a liver issue. I found replacement items, condiments that doesn't have it. Miracle whip has it, so does ketchup but they make ones without it. I created a Walmart app that I began searching for food items and reading labels, then adding the items to my cart to remember them. Any corn products actually is hard on liver.

Really low carbs and absolutely no sugar! But, my wife won a prize of an English Cream Tea at a very nice hotel. That's sandwiches, pastries, and scones with cream and jam plus a glass of champagne as well as the teat. What could it harm I thought just this once and boy o boy was I wrong. Even after fasting for 20 hrs the following day BG skyrocketed and BP was up. Never again, complete and utter mistake. Once you are on healthy keto never come off. For anyone stuck in limbo with insulin resistance. It took me about one and half months to see results on the scale. (I noticed changes to my heart skippes first and no water in the legs anymore)
I started off with 3day fast, followed by a mix of warrior fast, omad and two meals a day. You shouldn't omad at the same time, switch between dinner and lunch so your body doesnt get used to a specific time(it'll burn less fat). You can eat what you want when you eat, eating less carbs will spike insulin less.
I know it's disheartening, but if you keep pushing when you feel lile giving up you'll get there.
Edit: just before I started losing weight I did a bikeride to get my food - the store was closed. So I did about 30 Minutes of light city cycling in my 28/29 hour fasted state and had to wait a bit more for my food delivery to arrive. I still lost weight the next day and it's not stopped so far.

Dr. Berg is right! I am in the process after being type 2, then getting pancreatic cancer (the rare, slow-growing type) and having to take insulin daily. I am now taking less than half the insulin I started with after a Whipple Procedure (surgically removing the cancer in all the places it had spread- pancreas, gall bladder, 1/3 of my liver, the duodenum, and some lymph nodes). I do Keto with IF and keep my blood glucose under control.
I cringe when I see diabetics eating sugary, carb heavy foods, then taking massive amounts of insulin to bring their blood glucose down.

I heard someone on another video refer to Alzheimer's as 'Type 3 Diabetes' - what a wake up call that was. Thank you so much again

It is type 3 diabetes. My mother, who was type 2, dodged the insulin injection for years. She now has Alzheimer's. I am now pre diabetic and now on keto. Going to visit her every week is a wake up call for me.
      Wake up people. I did.

I was never diagnosed, but I was combating scatterbrain and mental fogginess for many years, heartburn, dermatitis, food comas, and would sometimes get nerve pain in my toes. Skinny, but probably had prediabetes! Everything is better now but sometimes still get sleepy after eating.
      Bless your mom.

This is the topic everyone looking to lose fat needs to start with.
I am down 70lbs in 10 months based mostly on 16/8 IF and with a couple of months of Keto. I can tell my insulin resistance is gone because of all of the things you listed, but I will add one more. No more H-anger. When my blood sugar would crash, I felt like I would murder someone if I couldn't get something to eat. My system would almost shut down. That NEVER happens anymore. I feel that I am hungry, but it does not affect me in any other way. I am still fully functional.
This will be the first video I send people to when they ask about losing weight.

Did your weight loss start slow and pick up over time? I have only managed 15 pounds or so in 4 months, I'm guessing due to IR. Hope it picks up when that finally reverses!

    1. Eat only twice a day and no snacking in between.
    2. Eat less carbs and more on fats and protein.
    3. Avoid sugar and sweets like you avoid a plague.

This one video is what I needed to understand what happens in the body when we become insulin resistant or diabetic, how to reverse it .... but I now also understand why using IF and Keto is so important to bring about the healing. I’m starting your plan this weekend. Thanks again & best of health to you

I just want to say I had endometriosis 8 years ago and it diminished after starting low carb: keto, recently been following fitness gurus that claim sugar is not bad, started eating like them a lot of carbs and sugars in my meal frequent meals too, and after 8 years my endometriosis came back, definitely endometriosis is an insulin pancreas liver problem, anyone suffering try no sugar for a couple of months, have one sugar dessert a week if u can’t handle it, but try it and watch your endometriosis disappear.
