The inmates? Drug traffickers, rapists, cartel killers. They have tough times ahead. They hardly get to leave their cells. They sleep, eat, and pee, all in a very confined space. Two square meters each - for up to eight inmates.

It is because of prisons like this around the third world countries and other places that those countries who are signed up to the ECHR cannot deport their foreign criminals. It is forbidden to deport to countries that have sub-standard jails with poor facilities.

Are we just going to forget what they did? There’s a difference between denying compassion to someone that doesn’t deserve it and someone not deserving compassion.
Most of those Americans that end up in the Tijuana jail system are there because 1 - they failed to bribe an authority during a traffic stop when they were out partying in TJ and got arrested for basically nothing more than being American and not paying (that’s how they extort tourists in TJ) or 2 - they committed an actual crime (this is a much less percentage of the Americans jailed in TJ)
That's my point...it would be interesting to enhance them with a chip showing a footage about the reason they are there once enabled, in a "Teletubbies-que" way...feeling sorry for this one? Let me switch the play button and watch what the "angel" did outside...

Prisons are exactly what they are constructed to do.
Holding society's worst criminals.
Not every prisoner is society's worst criminal you idiot! There are a million different charges from the most minor infraction to the most major. People make mistakes in life, so does that mean they should be stripped of every ounce of dignity a human being deserves? Apparently you've never done any wrong or made any mistakes huh? They’re still humans and deserve some dignity. It’s always hard to see it from the other side and you don’t have to ofc but we are all humans and some just had a difficult upbringing or a very bad, desperate moment

Thats pretty close minded to compare yourself to others. Do you think everyone lives the same life? Theres extreme differences in family life, culture, money, danger, mental and physical sickness and so much more between people in different parts of the world. Do you think a kid that grows up in a criminal family and ends up there bc he smuggled drugs is the same thing as your decision no not commit a crime? Completely agreed I don’t think prisons like these solve anything. It just makes them more and more mentally ill in the head and never recover.
