    Great video! I grew up in the Scn Fernando Valley and when I was a youth I drove to the bottom of the Hollywood sign with my friends on a Friday Night and we each had a 12 pack and climbed all the way up to the sign with the 12 packs. Imbibed and then proceeded to hang from the second "O". It is surprisingly windy at times and I remember being blown forward and backward while I hung there. Wanna talk about a view! Brings back some of the crazy times!

      @@JuicedJoyrides yeah I thought about going bigger but I have to remove my battery for easier and lighter bike transport...also..from what I've been able to figure our 72v 38v has the best cells..if we run 3800k or 5000k we can essentially go 60 to 70 miles per charge and still have fun..just use the egg rider and have off road set for 5000k and Road set for 11k ...thats basically eco and sport...also do you have the regen throttle yet? I use it and set it at 25percent and use it as a break..I rarely need to actually use my breaks anymore....

      @@ECrewLA this is great news for range, I like your setup. Any problems with overheating the motor? I don’t have the Regen throttle, would love to get one. I have my modes set so that one of them has like 10% regen, so it’s like a push button brake. Regen seems to not be that good if you traveled nearly 4 miles downhill and only recovered 1%.

      Thank man! You’ll get one soon enough, enjoy the pedal ebike too though, those are fun and you actually get some cardio exercise too. I used to ride regular bikes a lot, but since getting the Sur Ron this year I hardly ever convince myself to actually ride a pedal bike anymore and I can feel a difference in my body because of it 😆, not that Sur Ron’s aren’t exercise necessarily, popping wheelies and riding stairs/tough terrain is definitely exercise. I find that the quality of a video is in the edit, you might be surprised what you can do with less then perfect footage with a little voiceover, jump cuts, and b roll. I appreciate you, thanks for watching.

    Very cool videos dude the surron looks like the best way to see LA you cover so much ground its really inspiring to see; On a side note, there is a universal key/tool that can access locked electrical and water valves commonly found on the outside of commercial, office, parks, schools, and retail buildings also on many lampposts in every city. They are commonly called silcock keys there are also a few cabinet key variants as well, they can all be kept neatly on a keychain and can be used to access locked power and water can reduce range anxiety quite a bit, just remember to be discrete.

    These type of bike frames is the standard for e biking. Being a very expensive e bike in these ,the market is flooded with ecomical ones starting at 700$ range. Majority of these cheaper ones goes up to the 1000$ range depending on power of motor and so on. Most used the standard 1 piece frame of jus front shocks. E bike speed differs from jus foot power as I found out with 1 piece frame with jus 1 shocks in the front wheel, the comfort when going 20mph is still a bit rough. I bought a Conversion Kit and used sam we typ we of frame as the ones in to his video of 2 piece frame Dual Shocks being a hardtail type. It goes 40mph and way smoother of handling the road much like the suspension from Mercedes-Benz Cars. Knowing the difference ,every future buy or CKit I get, it will always be the 2 piece Dual shock frames I will only use.

    • @JuicedJoyrides

      Thanks for the comment man, I used a kit to build one in the past back in 2016 and found the same experience as you. The actual mid drive motor conversion made a powerful and fun electric bike, but the lack of suspension is what really killed the vibe of the whole thing. Been loving this bike, happy riding!

    • @JuicedJoyrides
      @JuicedJoyrides  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I debated many options. I want more speed too, from what I hear and my experience riding other 72v bikes, it seems like more voltage is the better route to go for more power. I almost got the larger 72v 51ah battery, but ultimately decided to get the 38ah so it will look less goofy, and because the ship time was listed as faster. Going from the stock 60v 32ah battery which is 1920 watt hours to the 72v 38ah is 2736 watt hours is a 42% increase in energy. So riding at the same speeds as the old battery I should see a huge increase in range. I hope I’m happy with my choice, but part of me wonders if I should have gone for the larger 72v.

    Nice, sooner or later looking to pick up one of those Chi batts. Dont mean to sound like a noob/my current Sur Ron is stock so haven't ventured into the after market batt realm yet. So em is the unlocking part necessary? / is it just to be used with the 4000 bac? if your just sticking with the 60v version of the Chi and the x controller is it necessary?. I know it not a big deal, its commonly done , but i hear that "unlocking" the battery removes fire protections AND any kind of warantees so "whats the point" and does it have to be done?. Thanks for any info, -Cheers

    • @JuicedJoyrides
      @JuicedJoyrides  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think what you’re talking about is doing the bypass on the battery. If you buy a 60 V from chi, you will not need to bypass it in order to get full power. The only reason to bypass the stock 60 V battery is so you can get the BAC 4000 controller to pull 7000 W from the stock battery, whereas if you do not do the bypass the controller will only be able to pull 5000 W

    How do you find the battery percentage dropoff... does it reduce linearly... or does it drop off faster during the last 3rd of the capacity?

    • @JuicedJoyrides
      @JuicedJoyrides  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I find that the battery percentage drops off linearly, and as the percentage gets lower the power gets weaker and weaker. It goes kinda like this:
      100-85% thrilling, really powerful
      85-70% pretty darn fun still
      70-50% I wish it was more charged
      50-40% still holds good top speeds but the acceleration has reduced considerably
      40-20%% it's getting you from a to b with good speed but you know its time to go home
      20% and less I rarely ride, it can still pop a wheelie at 20% but its not much fun anymore

      I've only had mine less than 3 months and just trying to understand its system better.
