Agreed. Jessica's undoubtably look more 'professional' (What a surprise there) but Lovis' lighting lead a more candid sort of appeal, and especially with some of the angles she chose almost beautifully eerie.
You know how America’s Next Top Model will sometimes choose the throwaway photos or test shots of a model to make it look like the model did bad? I’d kind of like it if you did a photo shoot where you show photos you would consider not usable and compare them to a better version of the same pose or backdrop.
Really loved the way Lovis utilized her background when working with the model. Strong editorial feel there. Although the feel of Jessica's photos were more inviting to the eye.
Both sets of photos are gorgeous, but I think Jessica's have a more "natural glow" with the lighting and depth of field, and then Lovis's were more of a "city girl" type of vibe with the buildings and movements and lighting. I absolutely love both styles though, they came out amazing!!
Both of their styles worked well with the model! I loved the differences in lighting too. I noticed how lovis’s photos were more scenic and in motion. Then Jessica’s was more framed and bright.
All the photos are great while giving different vibes. Your photos are more polished and they concentrate an eye on the model herself. They seem more like pictures of a model. Lovis makes it look like the photos have a city-living storyline. They feel less like modelling and more like an unintentional capturing of a girl in her day-to-day life.
Both are great!! With the pro photographer nailing the lighting and framing in every spot, the pro model presented another style that is very 'candid' but chic at the same time even without the best lighting. Bravo girls!!
My favorite one of Lovis's was the one you didnt include by the white wall..it was GORGEOUS and I 100% could see it being a picture in a campaign in magazines!
I think Lovis' picture's looked a bit more artsy and suited the background a lot, they almost looked like movie stills. And Jessica's looked like very high quality fashion shots. Both looked really great!
Lovis' photos were really refreshing and editorial looking. With just some pointers about figure-ground relationship and lighting, those photos would be a 10/10 for sure. Jess' photos are flawless as always.
That was really fun to watch, your content is so good! Both sets were great, I think Lovis’ images would pop if the edit was made just a little brighter but that’s just my opinion. Great job!
Maybe at least 1 of the photos could've been a bit brighter but I feel like the sightly dimer lighting fitted most/half of the photos perfectly, kinda gave a moody/classic and a little bit of a academia/old money vibe 2 it
My personal favorite photo was Jessica's picture with Jovana by the roses. I would have picked Lovis' picture by the bikes, but the black jacket and the dark edit left a black section in the middle of the photo that was weird to my eye. If the jacket had been off the shoulder on the camera side, or off, Lovis' picture would have been my favorite. Still very impressive on the part of all three. I could never get shots this good in under 5 min.
First of all: great video! I am german and it was funny to watch one of your videos and instantly know that Lovis is german just by her voice :D To me the main difference between you two is definitely the style even though i could easily picture the both of you doing a lot of different styles. The model did a great job adapting to both of you even though she said there wasnt really a difference for her. For me Jessica was a bit more reactive and decided to go with the flow and follow the mood she got from the model. Which is a very admiring trait to have i think. It makes her very flexible and its a bit of an adventure with a lot of possible outcomes. Lovis seemed to have a much more clear vision in her head when it comes to posing and was good in translating it to the model. She was very efficient with that. Probably because of her own professional skills as a model. The only other difference i saw is the "quality of the photography" and this is where its harder for me to describe. I loved most of Lovis pictures but i think with some ideas she could have gotten even better pictures with a bit more expericence as a photographer. Especially when it comes to coloring and depth of field. But other than that i dont think i would have been able to tell if she was a professional or not. The video was a really nice combination of you three and i would love to see more of that!
Love these challenges! Also Jovana nailed it :) Btw, If you ever shoot in Berlin by any chance, go to do that around Potsdamer Platz. Probably one of the best locations to shot.
Lovis's photos capture the beauty of Amsterdam by showing more background but the model fades into it by looking away with low brightness. Jessica's photos are more focused on the model which catch my eyes but not really utilise the background as if it could be shoot in anywhere. I definitely can smell more of commercial from Jessica's photos, which is not surprising! Btw Jovana really killed it, so beautiful and talented.
Lovis went for wider framing, leaving the background apparent while Jessica’s pics feel « closer ». My fav from Lovis is the first one in black and white with Jovana walking as it reminds me of this photo by Richard Avedon with a woman floating. As for Jess, my fav is the one with flowers because it’s just an overpowered way to transform the actual setting.
Lighting was a big difference for a me. Though the model had great ideas, they did come across that way. You won in my opinion. I think you guys should do a colab shoot where the model is your creative director and you shoot the photos. I would love to see that.
I think my favourite is the walking lovis photo, it’s got drama to it, and the angle adds more… The intensity of the seated lovis photo was good, and the shaded face helped that. The flower Jessica one is classically beautiful and amazing… The last one, I feel like there’s a better photo adjacent… which is more about time constraints than anything…
What I noticed was the lighting. You were probably a little more aware of settings and having your model in good sunlight vs in spotted or low light. Also angles and composition were very different - she took a canted angle photo and a photo that had cropped limbs, where as you were more aware of how to frame the camera around the model. I think the B&W was out of focus, but I didnt have it full screen.
I think Jessica's more accustomed to thinking about lighting. If Lovis had adjusted her settings to make the photos to bring in more light they would have been perfect. But the poses and her choices of backdrops were great.
Hi Jessica! I really love your photography and content and thanks to people like you it has definitely helped me want to get into taking better pictures. When you do these timed photography challenges, do you do all manual, or put it in Shutter/Aperture Priority mode? Thank you!
I have the same opinion with Heavena when it comes to how little difference there was with the photoshoots. To me, both photographers knew what location to direct her while she did the posing.
4:16 - My fav of Jessica's is the 3rd - she's filling the entire frame, the colors seem 'soft' and the pose feels a bit more casual and candid, less a pose and more a capture of just a moment/motion. Even the glimpse of the blurred background gives a sense of a moment of a bigger story being captured. 9:26 - My fav of Lovis's is the 4th (though I feel it needs to be color corrected and don't care for the placement of her left hand) - I like the diagonal pose crossing the frame, as well as the way her outfit breaks up her silhouette. There are a lot of straight lines throughout that draw the eye. Perhaps it would've been better had her right leg been more visible with the pose to provide some balance to the left side, though. 9:49 - of the photos you each chose, I find it interesting, too, that you both chose 'matching' eye lines. Lovis's photos are both of Jovana looking to the side, into the distance (the focus more on the pose?) while both of Jessica's photos of Jovana show her with a raised chin, and emphasis more on her face.
Me in the same voice as the Beyoncé meme: AMSTERDAM? Crazy to see your own city in a video like this. Hope you enjoyed your stay 😊 and keep up the fun and informative videos :)
I think Lovis needed to work on her Lighting and composition a little; but then, she's not a pro photographer! Overall, I think she did well for only having 5 minutes!🙏
Cool that you were in The Netherlands. If If you ever come here again it would be cool to do a challenge with some photographers here :) let me know and stop by!
both did so well!!! I love the lighting on yours Jessica and I like how Lovis lead with confidence and was quick on her feet. What lens did you use for these btw? :)
My style as a photographer pose wise I so shoot poses similar to Jessica but photo style wise is more like the models because prefer my photos to be a bit more... moody vibe. I love Jessica's but how I shoot it more like the models and depending on the poses and lighting I shoot I bit brighter like Jessica.
If there’s ever been a more obvious lesson in the use of light, I’d like to see it (although I’m sure the model’s images could have been improved after the fact). Still, hugely entertaining and a(nother) fantastic model.
Estou adorando seus vídeos. Suas fotografias são ótimas e seu jeito de levar o trabalho mais leve e divertido para a modelo é maravilhoso. Seu trabalho é incrível. Beijinhos do Brasil 🇧🇷🇧🇷
Amazing model, beautiful scene and all the pictures are just gorgeous. What i notice is the difference between the value of posing and the value of lightening /background. I think the model pictures are significantly darker, they catch your attention with the pose though. Its more like a dimm aesthetic you d see on a frontpage of a magazine, vs jessica`s looking more like the things you d see on instagram, or as what you d order for your wedding (more casual and bright vs dark retro) I am wondering jessica, what settings are you using that you can easily go from a blurry background (sitting) to a rather sharp background (stone wall). I mean i would change the aperture but it would take some time to change (and some testing out). Are you switching between hte available modes on your camera, or how are you switching this fast? is it just my lackin experience? I personally change it and it takes some testing out to find just the right setting, especially when im mixing apperture and shutter speed. In such a scenario where im really rushing from A to B (like at an convention for example !) i would appreciate such an adaptive system you seem to have here.
I feel like the biggest difference was lighting choices for sure ! Both were beautiful and that model was amazing !
Agreed. Jessica's undoubtably look more 'professional' (What a surprise there) but Lovis' lighting lead a more candid sort of appeal, and especially with some of the angles she chose almost beautifully eerie.
I saw more movement poses from the model photographer.
You know how America’s Next Top Model will sometimes choose the throwaway photos or test shots of a model to make it look like the model did bad? I’d kind of like it if you did a photo shoot where you show photos you would consider not usable and compare them to a better version of the same pose or backdrop.
Oh sure I can definitely do that!! ^_^ Thank you for the suggestion!
Jovana kills it. Impressive for someone who does modeling part time.
She is absolutely AMAZING!!!
These 3 girls are the definition of "they know what they're doing", and they do it amazing✨
I love these challenges, they're so fun and inspiring ♡
Really loved the way Lovis utilized her background when working with the model. Strong editorial feel there. Although the feel of Jessica's photos were more inviting to the eye.
I love how Lovis' photo series looks like it's telling a story 🤩 and Jessica's portraits are always elegant and 🔥
Both sets of photos are gorgeous, but I think Jessica's have a more "natural glow" with the lighting and depth of field, and then Lovis's were more of a "city girl" type of vibe with the buildings and movements and lighting. I absolutely love both styles though, they came out amazing!!
Both of their styles worked well with the model! I loved the differences in lighting too. I noticed how lovis’s photos were more scenic and in motion. Then Jessica’s was more framed and bright.
Two different styles... Both amazing! Same model, same camera, same clothes... And TWO campaigns shot in half hour! Congrats!!!!!!!!

I have to say Jovana should get into professional modeling, she has a natural talent for it. Absolutely stunning 😍
I am astounded by the model, she worked so well with both girls. Amazing!
I think Lovis' picture's looked a bit more artsy and suited the background a lot, they almost looked like movie stills. And Jessica's looked like very high quality fashion shots. Both looked really great!
I'm convinced the only constant in this world is Jessica shooting with her 5D Mark IV
Lovis' photos were really refreshing and editorial looking. With just some pointers about figure-ground relationship and lighting, those photos would be a 10/10 for sure. Jess' photos are flawless as always.

I actually prefer Lovis's photos!! they look like film and she played her cards right!! love the photo on the stairs!!
I always like seeing how new photographers work. There is a level of confidence you get with experience. I thought both sets were really good.
I love the different editing style they have. The model did an amazing job too, she really knows how to pose and know her angles
First of all: great video! I am german and it was funny to watch one of your videos and instantly know that Lovis is german just by her voice :D

recently started photography as a work-study program and you were one of my inspirations back when i just started learning
I love your photo with the roses 😍
There was SUCH a difference between the two. Mostly it felt like style rather than skill behind the lense. The model's photos were more moody.
How is the model not a pro?! What an incredible model she is!!
8:10 is def one of my favos! (Love how I’m Dutch and didn’t even notice you where in Amsterdam lol)
Love these challenges! Also Jovana nailed it :)
Btw, If you ever shoot in Berlin by any chance, go to do that around Potsdamer Platz. Probably one of the best locations to shot.
Love your photo challenges! I learn so much from your various poses and trying different angles.
Those pictures turned out so gorgeous!!
Both beautiful pictures!! And the model did amazing!!❤
OMG! Love all the pictures😍😍😍
I love these challengees, my favorite series ever!
Lovis seemed to favor action shots. She did a great job for not being a photographer. Loved this challenge!
jessica's photos are so much brighter and the model's pictures are a little darker than a normal picture , I think this one was the only difference.
You three did an amazing job. Those photos are beautiful!
That picture on the stairs was great!!!
Lovis's photos capture the beauty of Amsterdam by showing more background but the model fades into it by looking away with low brightness. Fave was Jessica’s with the roses 😍
I love this! It shows how different the jobs are! So many ways to think about things! Lovis’ shots were so cool. I love the colors of Jessica’s shots.
Excellent, both from photographers and model. Loved it!

There was something very artsy about Lovis pictures, I really liked them :)
You both did a good job. Lovis' vibe is much more into the fashiongraphy and Jessica's vibe is more into the portrait.
The lighting's pretty different. 😮
Lighting was a big difference for a me. Though the model had great ideas, they did come across that way. You won in my opinion.
I think you guys should do a colab shoot where the model is your creative director and you shoot the photos. I would love to see that.
Omg that bold wavy hair is beautiful.
I think my favourite is the walking lovis photo, it’s got drama to it, and the angle adds more…
The intensity of the seated lovis photo was good, and the shaded face helped that.

dang i love that vibe for the model picture
💯📸
ur work is so gorgeous Jessica and you and your friends are so pretty 💖

So much beauty! Everything's great.
I came here for Jovana🥺❤
Slightly dreary scenic new york vibes vs charming and stylized romantic vibes
Serbia?! Sestro prelepa si 😳😍🔥🇷🇸
I think Jessica's more accustomed to thinking about lighting. If Lovis had adjusted her settings to make the photos to bring in more light they would have been perfect. But the poses and her choices of backdrops were great.
I'm stealing all of your model's poses for my next shoot (next week) XD I love watching these videos, I always get so inspired :D
love videos like these
I admire Jessica's level on photography
Gorgeous shots all around, but wow. That flower shot by Jessica is incredible.
Hi Jessica! I really love your photography and content and thanks to people like you it has definitely helped me want to get into taking better pictures. When you do these timed photography challenges, do you do all manual, or put it in Shutter/Aperture Priority mode? Thank you!
Would love to see you shoot with a plus size model!
I like photographer ones because it's brighter, but I also like the models ones because of the contrast in hers.
I have the same opinion with Heavena when it comes to how little difference there was with the photoshoots. To me, both photographers knew what location to direct her while she did the posing.
I’m obsessed with the model! She did such an amazing job with posing.

Crazy to see your own city in a video like this. Hope you enjoyed your stay 😊 and keep up the fun and informative videos :)
Beautiful model!
"time is a social construct" haha as a scientist that made me crack up lol
I think Lovis needed to work on her Lighting and composition a little; but then, she's not a pro photographer! Overall, I think she did well for only having 5 minutes!🙏
Cool that you were in The Netherlands. If If you ever come here again it would be cool to do a challenge with some photographers here :) let me know and stop by!

actually i did prefer the model's concept. but the photos did lack in lighting. but beautiful regardless :)
Amazing. 😊

Love from Bangladesh ❤️ I saw all of you video
@NickyAm 😂😂 doing the detective work
Whats the best way to connect with models for these kind of shoots. Do you use connections with an agency? Or is it mostly off of social media?
If there’s ever been a more obvious lesson in the use of light, I’d like to see it (although I’m sure the model’s images could have been improved after the fact). Still, hugely entertaining and a(nother) fantastic model.
I love it❣️❣️
Love this!
Lovis did a great job... have you encouraged her to do more photography ?
i could see lovis was trying to put 100% in the shoot
I love yor videos. I'm from the philippines
Estou adorando seus vídeos. Suas fotografias são ótimas e seu jeito de levar o trabalho mais leve e divertido para a modelo é maravilhoso. Seu trabalho é incrível. Beijinhos do Brasil 🇧🇷🇧🇷
the models one are more instagram photos while Jessica's are way more professional looking, almost like vogue or some magazine
So when are you back in Amsterdam?
AMAZING!! damm i thought it had also 4k so i can see it at my 4k screen :( i hope for the best in the future ^^
Says 1080p but looks like 480? what up wit dat.....Great video, not sure what's going on with the quality
Hi Jessica 💛✌🏻 love you
LOVEEEEE ITTT!!❤
Yes my Serbian ladyy 🙏🏻💗👌🏼
Are you using 85mm 1.8 canon? I wonder if yes can you tell me at what point the aperture stopped?
Amazing model, beautiful scene and all the pictures are just gorgeous.

what is the lens? ❤
is this a 50mm?
Funny when the photographer is the prettiest of the three.
And I'm early for once!!! (From Lebanon 💕)
