I truly enjoyed being a part of this video! Jess - thank you so much for including me! I enjoyed myself and I look forward to seeing you continue to excel. I really do hate modeling, but this shoot was so much fun!!
For begginer models, I always print out a few reference pictures that I put up on a wall in the studio so they have something to easily look at. Gets us both inspired :)
This video actually made me realise that the photographer I used for my headshots a couple of years ago was terrible or at least had no people skills whatsover and it was wrong of me to feel guilty about "botching up" my session because i was inexperienced
How tf did you know that I needed this. I've arranged a photoshoot with a client who's not a model and I was worrying about how to pose him and boom Jess just uploads a video out of the blue. Tbh thats creepy lol 😂 P.S. you're amazing!
You are an inspiration :) you are so positive and "down to earth" and your videos spread positive energy and the tips you give are just so helpful and easy to follow :) i am not into photography (i do like to take pics from time to time, but just for fun) but i actually enjoy your videos a lot :) keep doing what you do and being yourself :) you are doing a great job :)
Haha all of these are so me, I have the worst memory and am also the worst with describing poses with words once I start shooting so having reference photos as well as acting out the pose to the model is SUCH good advice and something I do a lot! Bad/lame jokes are also a good icebreaker in anycase to get a genuine reaction from people if it's silly, awkward or whatever, it can work so well for a candid moment
HAHA who dare to said that the jokes wasnt funny? i laugh a couple time hahaha ure so great jesica and i wanna see more. thank for great stuff u have :))
@@KayaLesca i think you meant fast shutter speed? faster shutter speed = shorter time taken to snap the photo which means there will be less motion blur 😅
Tips: 0:29 Meet your client before your photoshoot 1:24 First 10-15 mins should be warm up / a practice round 2:20 Give them an action to do (eg: fix hair, flutter a dress, fix the dress, walk back&forth, something natural) 3:29 Give them something spesific to look at 4:10 If you forget or run out of ideas, show your client reference photos 5:15 Visually show the pose yourself 5:41 Reference inspiration photos and refine them; do some standing, sitting, interact with background 6:57 Use a prop -makes them less awkward (eg: book, ball, handbag, light, flower, sign, picnic basket, ask your client) 9:42 or 9:48 Give them positive feedback / compliment them / tell them they're doing good
Absolutely love watching your videos, full of great content and whether its reaction, commentary, personal stories or tips and advice there is so much to learn. Just wondering have you ever done shoots with animals, be fantastic to hear and see your experiences if you have.
Hey Jessica! I love your content and your amazing personality! Your videos keep me laughing and educated all at the same time, love it. I was wondering for a video content idea if you could do a model pose v senior photo pose. For example, in one of your videos you made a comment about how the model's pose along with the picture angle it looked like a senior photo instead of a model shot. Just thought this would be a cool idea. Sometimes when I am shooting I am thinking it looks to senior-ish. lol Thanks for your content!!
Hello Jessica ! I’ve been scouring the internet to find an answer to my question but with no luck so far! Can you please tell me, if you have a DSLR camera with no optical or digital zoom whatsoever, can this be changed by buying a certain lens or do you have to buy a new camera? Thank you so much!💕
If you have a dslr it's not the body of the camera that has the zoom but the lens, if u want more zoom( it's always optical) u need to afford a different lens
I usually like to break the ice with clients by getting to know what makes them tick. If the client is into cars. Guess what Im talking cars while shooting, hehe ROCK N ROLL
Another thing worth mentioning.. A lot of new (yes, agency signed) models have no idea what they’re doing so treat them like a person that’s never had their photo taken.
I would love to do a photo shooting with her ❤️ I once went to a photographer with my friend to do a friendship Fotoshooting and the photographer was so mean he got bored and visibly showed us which was very discouraging :(
I've learned more about model poses from Jessica's videos than from the 15 cycles of America's Next Top Model that I watched.
Too 👏 True. 👏
they put cycles 19&20 on hulu , i'm currently binge watching them

What is the best camera for a beginner? And attachments.
I would recommend canon eos 6D!
@@katatzzz yesss, agreed
Most of the Canon EOS cameras are great!
And a 18-70mm zoom lens is always safe, cause you can do close and wide-angle shots

Thanks for the tips Jessica, Always !!!! :)

May I ask what is the best camera setting for sharp "walking" pictures pleeaaase.
pick a short shutter speed. the faster the motion, the lower the shutter speed has to be

What a good setting to using a 85 mm when doing a Portrait?
I think it totally differs to your light, subject and background :)

I think she can be a model she just needs to paint her eyebrows less striking.
