I had the pleasure of seeing Dave perform in a parking lot when I was a little boy, probably 6. Was around 2001. He came to a random BMX shop in Minnesota near my house and I happened to see him. He took 6 kids and laid them all down and jumped over them all at once as part of his trick routine. Was awesome. RIP DAVE

Loved the game a lot ... But after a while of playing. it felt way too lonely...the music and gameplay was perfect af... but the maps/levels were just you and no one cheering... so silent....but still absolutely LOVE the game...

Mat Hoffman's game had the backing of Activision/Neversoft and literally used the THPS game engine and this game was *still* better in my opinion. One of my favorite games on PS1, and not just categorizing sports games either.
Loved this game when I was a preteen. Can't remember if I got all the hardcore challenges done but I remember spending many hours trying. This is the first time I'm noticing there's a story arc, you go from a track built in your backyard, to an industrial area, to a gym, eventually you end up performing in front of crowds of screaming fans at a competition. Still listen to Deftones to this day because of this game. One of my favourite things to do was line it up just right to grind in place, all you had to do was balance and you could rack up tens of thousands of points. Thanks for uploading so I can revisit these memories!

Beautiful game! I remember trying hard up to level 5-ish to get the highets trick score to pass the level. After that I observed that just smashing the buttons randomly and hitting the landing brought much more points. After passing the level I just tried to play the level for fun and link combos. The soundtrack is sick! It was really fun.

I play this on a PS1 emulator on my laptop. It's still good even now. The amount of hours I spent doing all the challenges on each level. That soundtrack brings back loads of memories
Word! I'm 32 and wanted to start riding a bike again. I had a GT Mach One back in my teens so I wanted a BMX from my childhood and just picked up a '96 Redline RL480 today haha... Glad I'm not alone getting into BMX Hella late.
If anyone has never played Dave Mirra Freestyle BMX 2 on PS2 then you need to play that one. Once you've played the 2nd one you will never come back to this one (except maybe because the soundtrack is cool...) But the 2nd one is basically just the same game with improved gameplay, better graphics, better levels, and more awesome music... And yes it also has the Slim Jim guy lol.
