- A masterpiece from South Africa, early 70's. "Marabi Bell 800",by West Nkosi! The opening lines translate to English as follows:
"Hey,West, have you forgotten about the marabi bell? NO,I haven't forgotten, and I'm going to hit it again on 'marabi bell 800'.The number 800 doesn't refer to anything,it just sounds good! The spirit is here, say 'yes'guys! YESSS!" - เพลง
We were not there but the song 😅😅😅burning for ever!!!
Timeless piece 🙏🙏🙏🙏2023 I’m here
The music that I listen to in the sixties and it brings back many memories!
The undisputed King of the African music producers. RIP S'bhubhudlela, Mfeneziyavova(that's how other artists, including the late Mfazomnyama, used to call him)
I love this
Still remember the way back
Great stuff, good memories!!! wish I can rewind the clock
I love this music with all of my heart this is a real African music, its an old nusic but still rocking viva South African music.
God, how I love South African music!
Me too: Rhythm, can be full of joy, deeply spiritual, vocals, energy, call and response, and yet almost always just three chords,eh? Paul Simon showed me the way. Township jive, yesssssssssssssssss!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow ...that saxophone is on point, great music.
Timeless
Wow good old days
This is beyond classic.
i wish the bell played through the whole song
West Nkosi was a bad, bad dude! He was among other things a producer for the late great Malathini and the Mahotello Queens. Sadly, West was killed in a car accident some several years ago, preceding his ace boon Malathini. The African heavens must be truly rocking (drumming? thundering?) with their combined efforts. Check out West's fantastic piece "Wedding March" on this very same album! Awesome stuff, truly!
Fantastic!!! Thank you so much.
@Musharuka Thanks,I'm happy to help bring a smile to your face, tears of happiness to your eyes, and sweet memories to your mind! God bless the music makers, they truly perform miracles in their own way.
Do we have anyone in SA who plays the penny whistle like these guys did?
