  • In this video I am going to show you how to build your first scale model using the Airfix Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vc starter kit.
    Using what’s in the box and a few more things that will be very easy to get hold off we’ll go through putting this Model kit together step by step and I’ll take you through some of the basics and fundamentals of Scale model building
    I’ve made this tutorial with the idea that whoever is watching, has no experience building models what so ever, so don’t worry
    This is an easy to follow guide that uses Humbrol, Tamiya and variouse other products to achieve fantastic looking models, even if you’re new to the hobby.

    It has been close to 40 years since my last build, a 1/48 Monogram F-105G Wild Weasel. Hope to get back into it, but have not set up my airbrush yet. Watching videos like this gives me confidence to try hand painting with a brush. Have several hundred kits stashed over the years, including a bunch of 1/72 Airfix planes. Thanks for helping old guys like me get back to what we so enjoyed when we were younger.

    Excellent tutorial thank you. Exactly what I needed as an absolute beginner. A solid, well laid out overview that assumes no prior knowledge, but without so much detail as to cause my head to spin. I've just been given a Battle Of Britain Flight Memorial set for my 50th, and the last time I touched a model kit I was in single digits. You've saved me from romping in unprepared and making a right state of things. Off to the shops for some cocktail sticks methinks! Cheers.

      @@RedtailFox1 Yeah no kidding. I used to be a really active athlete with team sports, especially soccer and hoops, and if I would've been able to pull up footage of certain players, games, etc at any moment & anywhere I am, I might've been a little more successful. The educational aspect of the internet is something that we unfortunately take for granted but it's truly amazing.

  • @pawelpw1161
    @pawelpw1161 ปีที่แล้ว

    Good one! Instead of scissors, which may be bit clumsy for smaller details i would introduce any kind of nail clippers nad any kind of stanley knife. To be honest two better brushes and few cheap bits from home depot will be enough even for more complex modells.
    only thing i found hard to avoid "for modellers equipment" tax was cheap acrylic primer spray paint from home depot as original nozzle sprays too much paint. You can get skinny nozzles from professional spray paints shop for few pennies and then you have little or no difference when comparing to tamiya or vallejo

    Wholesome video! Just ordered the F16 plus (dual seater) from Hasagawa in 1/72.
    It was dirt cheap and i think i need a break from Warhammer stuff..
    What are you thoughts on them? From what ive red the fit should be a little better than airfix/italeri/revell. Also bought some greys, blues and white along with it from vallejo model color. Still scared to try enamel wash/panel liners. I hope i can do something with the all the GW washes at my disposal.
    The kit is old though, pre MLU trim.
    Thumbs up!

    • @thatmodelmakingguy263
      @thatmodelmakingguy263  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve not not built any Hasagawa yet but I’ve heard nothing but good things. Very clean kits to put together. I’m going to be going through a lot of modelling techniques and basics with the next video and that includes enamel washes. Just remember the citedal washes are acrylic and once they’re dry you can’t really do much much with them, that’s why enamel washes tend to be used. I like a break from warhammer stuff and there is so much more to explore outside of warhammer as well :) good luck with your project 💪🏻
