Thank you for this great video series! I am getting back to the hobby after 40 years, Michael! Back in the day it was Esci 1/72 kits. Now I wear glasses, so (for me!) I am tackling the new 1/48 scale. A nice in-between scale 1/72 vs 1/35. Greetings from Brisbane, Australia 🇦🇺 😀

Thank you! I don't want to use an airbrush, so this motivates me. I just want to be able to build a basic kit. At the moment I'm useless after 20 kits, so I need to get some proper tools and lighting, and more patience. I'll get there. Hopefully.

Great tips but if you allow me, a better way to apply the vallejo putty is to dilute it with watter and apply with a brush. For the canopy you can use pva glue to temporarily hold the canopy in place. Hope this is OK.

A model is a miniature reproduction of a real object.
Have you looked at a photo of a real Spit to check the correctness or at least a similarity in the colours? I tell you this because the colours of the model are as similar as an egg to a chestnut compared to the real ones.
No, it is not enough to apply any green and any brown with the excuse that the important thing is to have fun. The important thing in modelling is to have fun WHILE RESPECTING REALITY.
