When using the skeleton key to gain entrance to the car The hole under the handle is used to remove the plastic cover which then reveals a normal lock.
No problem David, Just a heads up the key removes the door handle surround then you access the key slot. Also check out my othet videos to show how to start the engine using a dead keyfob :)

This should be the first thing they tell you with all the relay thefts that happen nowadays. With my spare key I just take the battery out of it....

Is there a way to remote start the engine with your key? I know you can do it on the app, but I'm wondering if there's a way with the key. It's really useful for those of us who live in places with rough winters where you need to heat the car up a few minutes before getting going.
The key does have an integrated gyroscope. It will automatically disable the keyless functionality while it is not moving anymore. This also safes some battery :)

What I really like is that you can forward or reverse using the slider on the time bar at the bottom of the screen. It has a description of what the gentleman on the video is saying. Thanks for the tips! Also, I discovered that I can lower all the windows using the driver's side door handle. When you unlock the car without using the key (approaching with the key in your pocket), just keep your hand on the handle and pull without opening the door. -Maybe you can do a vlog about it?

In the garage I keep a 2007 CLK350 Cabrio with only 60K miles, it is fun in the summer. Used to have also a 2012- C300 class and 2014-E350 class, but sedan is not my style. Best Regards, Julio

Great video! Question- first tip tells you how to “turn off” your key fob but how do you turn it back “on”? When it’s “off” does that mean that you can’t use keyless entry when you approach your vehicle?
Thanks! Yep it disables keyless entry till you press the unlock key. Once you press unlock it resets the key back to normal. It's to stop people piggybacking your key signal to steal your car.

I understand how this could prevent piggybacking the key signal to open your car, but would the car actually turn on or be able to be driven if a thief tries to drive off while the key is in MY possession? It’s a coin style battery. It’s not rechargeable but very easy to swap out and they are cheap (under £5 for 2). Mercedes do replace the key battery during a service B normally too.
Trick #4 and the skeleton key : That IS NOT the keyhole.... You put your key in that hole and pry upwards, and the keyhole COVER pops out! Under it is a normal doorlock
Okay Im impressed. I own a stage 1 (w204) C200 cgi, and I thought to unlock all doors you always had to press twice! The thing worked. Unfortunately the windows dont come down by themselves but at least I learned something new. Thank you!

I wanna add something to tip 4, the key hole you see there isn't the one which unlocks your door handle, that whole thing is merely the cover for the real keyhole,and the way you remove the cover is tricky as well,when you insert the key into the hole,don't rotate it,just shove it hard enough for the cover to pop out its slot and remove it

I pressed my lock button a few times and it disable not just my keyless function but also folding the side mirrors when I lock the door. Any suggestion how I can reset/enable this functions again? Hi Mylyn, I've not come across this myself but can hopefully help. Which model and year car do you have? It may be a glitch and you just need to go into the settings inside the car menu and re-enable folding mirrors. It may also be called parking mirrors in the options.

Hey, you are welcome. That sounds odd are you sure the battery does not need changing? I think you'd have to have Mercedes reprogram the key for you if there's some issues.

I loved the video so much, so many helpful tips. I tried the first tip where you deactivated the key and reset it by unlocking as you say in some of the other comments, however, I cant seem to get the Keyless go working again
In case no one else has mentioned it, you can not only open your boot with the key, but (on cars sold into Australia in recent years at least), you can close it by pressing the same button. Would like to know if when the key is disabled, if you can remove the backup / manual key , then lock the electronic key in the car or boot, for when you’re at the beach and don’t want to leave the remote key on the beach while you swim, but are ok hanging the backup key around your neck or in your trunk pockets. My car won’t let me shut the boot with the electronic key in there for obvious reasons but provided you have the manual key with you, you should be able to override this . Will disabling it achieve this ?

Is it going back to working state by double clicking the unlock button, or the lock button? 2nd thing - please, pay attention to the *much* louder music and your voice. The jumps in the levels can get a heart attack to someone.
BTW, if you hold your left leg up and hold the LOCK button for 2 seconds with your right hand, the glove compartment will open. It is really cool. WOW!!!

Well the only situation you would need the manual key is when the car battery completely died,then the alarm won't be functioning,but yes the alarm would go off if you used ur manual key,there's a way around this, you lock ur car using the manual key when unlocked,your alarm won't go off if you used the manual key to open it but instead if you unlock it again using the remote the alarm will go off
Also, lubricate your locks now and then especially if you have an older MB. I had to fight 2 hours with my W220 trunk when the battery died. Luckily the key didn't snap.
Nice video, Thanks for sharing! Feedback: try not to have such high volume in the music or sound effects during transitions. Its uncomfortable to have to increase the volume during your talk time and then JUMP and lower the volume when you play music because is too loud! Just an observation to bring to your attention! Try to keep a good balance of the volume of audio during the whole video. Keep up the good work!

Heh not a gyroscope, acceleration sensor. A gyroscope is only needed to measure the angle...
