      I don't think you need to remove the engine. Although, removing the engine isn't very difficult as you have seen. I would take that housing down, disconnect the hoses and then use one of the old hoses or a wire to pull the new hoses through the housing. Then just make sure you have a nice, new gasket to seal it up. The hoses just have threaded connections on their ends so they are easy to replace. Hope this helps and I can try to answer any questions you may have!!

      @@605BOLT thaaaaaank you very much brother , one more question is better inside out or outside to inside

    • @605BOLT
      @605BOLT  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would pull the old hoses from the inside to the outside with a wire attached to one of the hoses on the inside. Then disconnect the old hose from the wire and reattach a new hose then pull the new hose into place using the wire. It is easier get the hoses to go from the outside to the inside. If that makes sense. Haha. Sorry if that is confusing.

    Nice Lightning! Back in 99 my buddy asked me to jump his brand new Lightning over a sharp hill. Doing about 70mph I jumped it straight through an intersection about 3 feet in the air! Felt like I landed on a cloud, the suspension was amazing! I loved that truck I could slide it side to side and it was soo controllable. Man I would love find one for a decent price.

      Haha wow! I've never jumped mine and don't plan to try! They're out there for bargains every now and then but a lot of them are trashed which is sad. ⚡

    Great idea on the trim pump support! I may just do that also! I have mine mounted to a 2x4 to get it a bit higher up. I'll just make my support brackets higher! Get rid of that carpeting!

      @@605BOLT I have a 2002 190LS Stingray. I went through it 2 years ago and skipped the fairly rusted Trim Bracket. Due for bellows work next year! If you know Arduino at all I used one to make an engine monitor. Checks if engine is running, beeps if the engine is not running and the blower is off, oil P, Temp, volts, Trim position (beeps if engine off and trim too high)...

    They make a stainless bracket. Got mine online for around $50. Its same holes and bends.

    I am having trouble replacing the trim fluid after some similar maintenance. I trim it all the way down, refill the tank, trim up, and repeat. My old mechanic told me to continue trimming for another two to three seconds after it reaches the limit to help push the air out, but I have done it many, many times and the piston still gurgles. Any advice?

    • @605BOLT
      @605BOLT  ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine didn't give me any troubles so I can't offer any advice. It sounds like you're going the right way. I'm sorry.

    When you put the trim line hoses back on did u feed them both through at once or one at a time ? What's the best way to feed them through .got one back in having trouble getting the second through..any advice? Ty.

    • @605BOLT
      @605BOLT  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My engine was out of the boat at the time so it was much easier. Assuming yours is still in place, I would try to get a piece of wire threaded through in place first and then tape the hose to the wire and use the wire or string to pull the hose through. Might be kind of tough though. Sorry I can't offer more help!

    What's that casing called that covers the trim pump line? It's almost granite like.

      I did not have to replace these lines on mine. I would call Ron at JR Marine and have him send you whatever you need. Do me a favor and mention that you saw the videos on my channel!!
