Must be careful while inserting the wiring under the panel that you don’t block the airbag, the wiring must go under the airbag as to not obstruct while opening in an emergency.
Did the kit come with the wires necessary to wire to the fusebox or was that an add on? It’s advertised to wire directly to the rain sensor power but I don’t think the maverick has a rain sensor
(Correction) From my understanding 2024 Mavericks without a rain sensor should still have the wiring for it installed. Is there any reason you can't use that assuming it's there? Also did that come with the fuse box adapters or did you have to buy that separately?
I have heard some complaints with the internal battery that hold the time & date. It was soldered directly to the circuit board and requires you to desolder and solder in a new one. Has this change to a user replaceable battery?
Did your wiring cross over the passenger air bag at the top of the A-pillar trim? I think the air bag goes about half way down the A-pillar. I haven't done an install yet on my Mav so just gathering info. Thanks for the video. That new camera does look much better.
I got lost on the part where you're about to tap the wire to the fuse box. Like which of the four included wires dis you chose to use and where exactly did you tap it?I'm a newb when it comes to car electrical so I did'nt instantly grasp the idea.
It was a bit too tight to film a lot of that stuff. But if you pull out the fuse, you can match with which wire to use. I pointed to the ones I used, maybe it was too small to see.
I bought the wrong camera. From your link i need to get the one "without rain sensor". But i press that link and it shows i would still need to purchase the fuse box cable kit separately. Do i have to buy the harness separately then? Or does the dash cam kit on your link already come with all wiring harnesses needed to connect to the fuse box?
I am not sure if they changed things. Mine came with the fuse box wires. Another person commented that you need the buy the wires separately. But best thing to do is ask the seller.
They responded, the cameras are the sameeven the price, difference is they come with different pigtails for the auto dimmer or the rain sensor. But now you HAVE TO PURCHASE THE FUSE KIT SEPARATELY. $39.00 but your code does still work for a couple of dollars off.
Thanks for your video. I am guessing you got your dashcam from amazon. I plan to get the same one. I don't know if my maverick has a rain sensor, I don't think so. It's a 2023, XLT hybrid. I got it in July of 2023, As of now it has 857 miles on. And never have driven it in rain. If I hook mine up just like you did, would I have to turn the dash cam off and on every time I drive the truck, or would it come on when I start and the truck, and shut off when the truck is turned off? I like the clean look of the cam.
In case you didn't get an answer, the Maverick does not have a rain sensor so it isn't as easy as their online tutorial video shows. You will have to basically do the same exact thing as the guy did in this video. If you contact Fitcamx they will send you an OBD or fuse box cable to power your camera.
I did this on mine but the camera stays on unless you manually use the on-off button each time. you would not think the battery draw would be too bad but it killed my battery and would give me the deep sleep mode. I took it to the dealer and they did a parasitic draw test. and disconnected the camera. I changed both wires to work only off fuses that are hot when the key is turned on so for you out there who do this keep an eye on your battery draw.

I don't know about the 2024 models. Mine is 2022. Had to buy the fuse adapters separate. Links are in the description.
AWESOME! Thanks for the detailed install.
No problem 👍
I just ordered one. Thanks for the heads up and the awesome how-to video.
no issues with mine. i forget it is even there. haha

I only tucked around the trim
Thanks for posting!! Question - How is the quauality of the camera at night time?
Night time seems pretty good too. Of course when lights are directly at the camera, it can get washed out.

Just got mine in the mail. But for some reason mine didn’t come with the fuse box cables. So kinda at a loss how to power it
Did you buy the "no rain sensor" version? That is the one I have
@@GearGadgetExperiments I did but looks like they changed it. Now its a $40 extra item to get it

ok, I see what they did. The link used to be a kit, but now it has the fuse adapters are options. I will add that to the descriptions. thanks!

Yes, it shuts off when truck is off. Well, Maverick has a timer, so the it shuts off after a few minutes.

I don't have this problem. Mine shuts off. Do you have the exact same camera?
I might get this with the rear cam. I can't believe they charge an extra $50 to upgrade to a 128 GB SD card, they're like $15, lol.
