i legit thought this was a really famous channel and thought you had 900k subscribers lol but really your content is high quality at it finest keep it up!
Great video! Just please don't flatten the GBA SP like that anymore, it doesn't have two positions, it has one (unlike the DS family of consoles), you'll damage it in the long run if you continue to do that.
1:33 WOW, I've heard that the AGS-101 was much better thn the AGS-001, but I'd never expected the difference to be anywhere near that Big! it looks better than the og DS even! That said, I've still never been dissatisfied with the image quality of my childhood AGS -001. It may not be the best, but it's very well good enough.
Same for me the 001 is the GBA experience, and I love the sort of faint grid it applies to the graphics. LCD gba shaders on retroarch are some of my fav for emulating 2d games. And for playing GBA I usually use a 001 with a flash cart with a full library of GBA titles.
Very good video. I think in general now you can get an experience that is close to authentic or even better for a lot of older systems on retroarch with shaders, so much so I have my crt in my closet instead of hooked to my old consoles now. Im also a big fan of handhelds, and modding them to be able to pirate games. Hope your channel continues to prosper!
I have game boy color and game boy advance, both with mod screens. I say these two are authentic for me, despite having a different screen. I think only the motherboard matters for an authentic game boy experience. Because, mostly of time, you'll get the correct clockspeed, frames, and will play like how people of that time used to hold those devices. Devices with backwards compatibility and accessories (like super game boy for snes) also have a good gameplay. Some are not as accurate as the original videogames, but I consider them authentic, because they were made by Nintendo
I have a modded GBA GBC and DMG just because it was way more affordable to do so than buy an Analogue Pocket. My experience is also the same with the motherboard being the most important since shells and screens and buttons are the most replaced features of these consoles
After thinking about what I posted, I remember playing my GBA with a table lamp. This is what I lost with a mod screen, it is not 100% authentic experience of this retro game, but it is way better.
It depends on the game. A good example is that you must play Tetris on the NES with a CRT to be good. The motion on the CRT is the only way to genuinely be good, even on high refresh rate panels, it doesn’t match up.
I gotta be honest, most early GBA games look better on a desaturated non-lit screen or GBA SP 001 Frontlit screen, for instance, Golden Sun, but there are always LCD color filters for emulators. I think Golden Sun looked kinda ugly with bright, saturated colors
As long as you don’t you pixel smoothing play how you want

i get why you are trying to say but i don't think this has anything to do with "authentic" , anyway the most important is that we are enjoying the reto-gaming experience by our own ways :)

Is the autentisity argument come fron elites? We are not in 2000 anymore even with everything original its not autentic

Didn’t know this, thanks for the heads up.
@MetallicFear dude too late. It's not supposed to go that far back.
Ive done that for so many years and my gba sp is still just fine, those things are built like tanks
Most authentic experience to me was the gba emulator on my psp - when I was a kid i loved my sp but it is too small nowadays...

If I get an old iPhone for whatever reason I’m jailbreaking it immediately.
Apple has great PR teams.
Awesome video:) and thanks for adding subtitles.

Didn’t realize you were under a thousand subs, this is genuinely like a 200k+ sub video great job lmao
oh man that car ride analogy at the end hit me right in the nostalgia
Emulation is king.
Every baby can go cry about it.
the only people who don't like emulation are man children who think its a good idea to justify hoarding hundreds of games for thousands of dollars.
Great video mate. subscribed.
I love the small jokes put in, seems like this video should have way more views

Honestly if you're having fun playing your games than it's the right way to play it, no matter if it's emulation or original hardware.

Gameboy pocket for me. Idk why I love the form factor so much
wow you are under rated

I had a gameboy colour and I can safely say it fucking sucked as a kid. Definitely emulators for me! Plus save states are a godsend
great vid bro

botw is awesome with emulation, could never play the "Authentic" version
I think you’re just playing with the definition of the word “authentic” because this isn’t what authentic means by definition.
i have too many gameboys. even the ds.
i even have the gameboy dmg, the pocket, and the color, and the advance, and thw sp, and a ds.
encase you forgot it exist, there are light accessories.
I want a gba with ips screen mod
You play emulated games for better graphics, i play it to piss off the original devs
We are not the same
emulating the switch is the best for that reason. Don't support anti consumer practices
