I like to imagine that Samus briefly saw the deceased people she knew during her life: her parents, the Chozo of Zebes, Rundas, Ghor, Gandrayda, the Baby Metroid (ok, it may not count as a person but she had a connection with it nonetheless), Adam Malkovich, and Quiet Robe encouraging her to never give up and defeat Raven Beak once and for all.
The most terrifying part of all this is that all those people who called her Metroid for 30+ years are retroactively correct, and we falsely corrected them.
It's literally the best moment. Samus has destroyed planets, singlehandedly drove the Space Pirates to near extinction, was given cancer via Phazon, yet managed to destroy Phaaze. She literally has done singlehandedly what would've taken armies years to accomplish. The fuck is Raven Beak gonna do? Stop her?
As you can see, Samus did not agree with Raven Beak, so she made a calm and reserved counterpoint to his claims, as the ships gently descended back towards the ground

Or at least, her own version of it. And now? Now she's that super-powered Omega Metroid from the end of Fusion, juiced up on the energy of a planet's worth of X-Parasites. And here she is, face to face with the last pure Chozo in existence... and he's an absolute *embarrassment* to their otherwise peaceful race. It's time for Raven Beak to die, and Samus is going to make sure he dies in agony.

So yeah, he may not be the biggest bad, but he is in Samus's reach, and she just snapped.

I used to be in that camp, 10+ years ago Now? If John isn't smart enough to team up with Samus he's going to be embedded in a wall faster than Cortana can ask "Wait what?" As a Team though? The Flood and Covenant (remnants or otherwise) would be screaming in terror, even the Forerunner at the hight of their power and arrogance would take one look at that and start fleeing to sheild worlds while spamming the Halo firing sequence... likely in vain since they were far too slow to react
Metroid Dread in a nutshell: Bounty hunter gets sent on yet another mission to solve a problem she's been trying to get done with for years. Everything goes to shit and what seemed a fairly simple mission turns into the biggest of deals, but she pushes through with the attitude of someone who's just tired of everyone's bullshit because she's very brave, and very pissed. She ends up facing a psychopath that calls her his daughter over a blood transfusion, loses and gets strangled. But this is Nintendo and she's too mad and frustrated to die, so thanks to some miracle that for the sake of synthesis we'll call "the baby", she resuscitates and has a nervous breakdown that causes her to become an angry cactus. She then does some Doom worthy shenanigans and leaves after turning the endite planet into a huge firework.
Even though I knew it wouldn't happen because it's not a mature rated game, I really expected her to rip his head off when I first played through this.

In Metroid Prime there's pirate data entries that say metroids can come back after seemingly dying. Not sure if that's because of phazon or just something all metroids are capable of though.

Metroid Dread in a nutshell:
Bounty hunter gets sent on yet another mission to solve a problem she's been trying to get done with for years. Everything goes to shit and what seemed a fairly simple mission turns into the biggest of deals, but she pushes through with the attitude of someone who's just tired of everyone's bullshit because she's very brave, and very pissed.
She ends up facing a psychopath that calls her his daughter over a blood transfusion, loses and gets strangled. But this is Nintendo and she's too mad and frustrated to die, so thanks to some miracle that for the sake of synthesis we'll call "the baby", she resuscitates and has a nervous breakdown that causes her to become an angry cactus.
She then does some Doom worthy shenanigans and leaves after turning the endite planet into a huge firework.
Ah, and she also runs from some robots that are trying to give her a vsccine with an oversized needle.
