@@mohsin9233 it's mainly because their machine may stop working since game mechanics change depending the version of minecraft
I think one aspect of Scicraft that is always overlooked is the sheer cooperation. On other Smps modeled after Hermitcraft, the individual players each have their own storages, farms, shops, etc. Scicraft is entirely communal, meaning all members share the same storage, same farms, same world that absolutely never resets. Having 40+ people all working together is no easy feat.

@@InDestructibleMC they're not inviting mumbo just yet because while he is good at redstone, he doesn't really inovate yet.
He likes having fun, the scicraft guys don't play in the same way. He'd get bored with them as people.
He uses all the known rules how things should work, to make his builds rather than experimenting with things that shouldn't work. He doesn't make anything that no one has seen before.
He's a great at redstone, but scicraft is another league where he would be insignificant in comparison.
Also he has bridged into mods and such more recently where they play vanilla.
The Sahara project of hermitcraft 6 was the closest he's come to a scicraft project, and that used to spontaneously combust.
@@thedoctorTARDIS scicraft uses normal redstone, but they implement other bugs to get farm otherwise nonrenewable things. scicraft guys also like to have fun, just in a different way. there are 1000s of people if not 10s of 1000s either better or as good as mumbo, and they arent getting invited. scicraft is also not vanilla, they are a carpet 1.12.2 server and use heavily modded clients. the only reason mumbo was even on the server in the first place was his sub count

Sohail Aji technically commands aren’t really a part of creative mode. They are their own thing. I think the argument here is that the creative mode inventory gets its resources from Scicraft, not necessarily that the commands get resources from Scicraft.

@@InDestructibleMC true, but it is basically vanilla, hermitcraft uses carpet mod as well(or something very similar), but they don’t have autocrafting on hermitcraft
@@InDestructibleMC Using client mods doesnt alter the game mechanics so its still vanilla but yes they use carpet mod which is server side so technically scicraft is not vanilla.
I think my favorite way of expressing how advanced the scicraft server is is that they schedule projects around when their sorting systems finish storing the items from their quarries, which takes months

I still remember as a kid having a minecraft book where they showcased some redstone contraptions that where mind-blowing to my child self. And today I'm seeing this and think "How would I have reacted if I knew this was possible?"
I love this community so much, because we seem to all have collectively accepted that Minecraft isn't only a survival game, but a sandbox to everything you could imagine. It's incredible.

Fun fact: Even with 22 witch farms, one of which is a quad hut farm that produces over a million redstone dust... the SciCraft server is short on redstone dust. Consistently short on it.
1 year later edit: Original comment said "produces" but I realize that's misleading. I should have said, "Has produced" - They have a few multi-witch hut farms, but the one they run most consistently seems to be the quad hut farm, and still leaves them short. They're absolute madlads, and have created a lot of the farms your other favorite MC TH-camrs use, or at least the basis for them. DocM, Mumbo, Grian, ect, ect.

@@sups6192 scicraft isnt a "rare breed" its a path that certain people have chosen to play minecraft as, anyone can be as skilled as scicraft if they put in the time and the effort. also im not as good as most of the members, ive only had the game for 16 months xd
I'm lucky enough to have been invited onto SciCraft for a tour. It's completely insane. I have a load of screenshots from my time on the server somewhere. I think the one I took that amazed me the most was a waterfall of creepers from a farm they had recently built at the time. The members not only cooperate with one another completely, sharing resources and knowledge, but they're also all incredibly casual about it. Showing off a farm that will get them a billion gunpowder is mentioned and shown just as casually as most players would show you their zombie grinder. They took about all blocks, including the bedrock in an enormous area just so they could play skyblock on their server. The quarry is unimaginably huge and watching it work just boggles the mind. I can't begin to describe half of what I was shown on the server because there's just so much. Many of the members are more than happy to help the community at large as well. I've had several of the members give me pointers and answer my questions on things that most players would never even think to try (such as removing the obsidian around nether portals to allow mobs to be moved to the nether the instant they spawn).
In regards to them pooling their knowledge and resources, there was a TwitchRivals that I was able to play in with ilmango. All teams were dropped into a world and had to play bingo with advancements essentially. The SciCraft team was fully prepared to help us reverse engineer the seed of the map to give us an advantage (completely allowed by Twitch, I asked beforehand if we were could), all we had to do was find a spawner (we sadly never found one). This whole server, and more importantly, it's members are just simply incredible.

@A Pickle Finally. Someone in this comment section that acknowledges that Mumbo is good at Redstone, just a different type. Redstone is not just one category it's multiple. And people don't need to put Mumbo down because he's not as good as these guys. He's friends with a lot of them anyways. Mumbo thought me a lot about redstone and is more entertaining as a person to watch because of his personality and interactions with other people.
Mumbo also never claims to be an expert.

I like to think that every time a member of SciCraft puts out a new snapshot vid, the entire Mojang staff starts sweating profusely as they reach for the play button.
They patch out a lot of the things SciCraft team members discover or implement, almost immediately in some cases. SciCraft is the reason spawners no longer default to pigs, for example, in 1.20+, even though they were only able to honestly earn those spawners through developing an incredible machine that only worked in 1.12 to create and obtain the spawners in survival mode.

@@InDestructibleMC I'm surprised, I would have guessed that you could use the end portal duping trick to farm infinite soulsand just like normal sand, but it's possible that doesn't work or only works in different version of the game.

@@InDestructibleMC I mean depends on what kind of game you want to play and what things are important to you. if you were trying to prove it was possible to fully automate some items that requires diamonds and it was possible, then yeah duping diamond ore would be a very important part of creating such a proof of concept. whether you want to actually participate in a server that allows use of such an exploit is completely subjective, though. if you don't want to, that's fine! but it seems rude to call it shameful that other people might want to have fun with the game in a way that's different from how you have fun with it.

Sci Craft tries to exclude redstone dust from their redstone designs cause redstone dust introduces more lag through light updates, while continuing to mine out the world
This just looks like a bunch of Factorio players got their hands on a copy of minecraft, and decided that they wanted to automate everything.

Glad to see there are people this high skilled and passionate about Minecraft, it will only improve the game
It already has improved the game. Their research and experiments for SciCraft have lead to the discovery of glitches like the bedrock breaking one that ended up being very useful for non-technical survival players (for example, because of the bedrock glitch people can access the top of the Nether to make insanely efficient pigman farms, or to male fast travel possible)
Like 50% of farms used by everybody are designed by a sci-craft members haha. They are the ones delving into the code in each snapshot and creating technical mods, they have improved the game no end already and are only doing more

the funny thing is, is that each of them have kinda a group that specializes in that same thing and can work together really well, and then theres pannic who just does his thing and needs them to get his resources and a lot of them, and its usually pretty hard to get them, especially in the quantity he needs and he makes them massive and beautiful.

@FabulousUfoCrashesKinetically ! When I originally saw that series, I thought to myself, that won't be interesting. Until it turned out a lot of farms to get items are based on hostile mobs, and they had to create an entirely new way of automatic farming. Slime blocks? Baby panda farm. String farm? Make a cat farm. etc.

Check out Prototech aswell and ProtoSky another insane vanilla smp. Where they recently got a “world record” of reaching all world border sides in the 3 dimensions. And also insane things like SciCraft do
They also made a 3 dimensional shulker farm. They dupe the mobs themself by sending them through the dimensions multiple times it’s insane

@@sgrey9181 Not completely, it definitely helps to fit machines into different spaces, which can be really useful and allow for new and different contraptions. Mostly though it'll allow players to cover up redstone and build around it differently.

It sounds like they'll be updating sometime soon, much hype to see what scicraft will do with the new mechanics. I think they'll jump from 1.12 to 1.16 or 1.17, so 4 or 5 versions added all at once, that'll be something
If you can't wait though: ilmango has a series on a peaceful server (which, how do you get slime and gunpowder on a server where slimes and creepers don't spawn? With great difficulty, that's how) with other scicrafters which uses 1.16

The journey to go from “this is new and exciting” to “this is also new and is also exciting” for many years is a beautiful one you see humans do a lot. From all the TH-camrs that got picked up they achieved 80k views not saying this is a requirement or a fact it's only something that i noticed hence i watch lots of small TH-camrs

As far as I know, SciCraft is actually planning to update to 1.16 or 1.17, they just want to finish projects that are only possible in 1.12, such as obtaining pig spawners.

They have quarries. I dont think they are short on redstone. One quarry they build is like 1000 blocks wide if i remember correctly

So yes I saw Ilmango himself sit in an afk tree farm and farm them logs to be smelted in their treefarming facility.
