Baking soda (base) and vinegar (acid) cancel out each other and just produce a carbonated drink. You might as well wash with unsweetened soda water.

Yes, it does, should have pointed out that I do that not to make it too acidic to harm the plastic in the long run, you can avoid putting baking soda as a whole but just wanted to be safe.

Thanks for your video, it was very helpful. I too have used vinegar to clean calcified deposits on things, including circuit boards! I'll try your technique on the nozzles on my old bmw e30. The nozzles have been clogged for a long time.

Choose what ever solution you want to soak the washer jets in but may I suggest soaking them in the solution again after poking them with the pin to rinse out any dirt dislodged by the pin.
Also, get a spare bit of washer jet pipe, push it on to the spout and blow through the pipe with the washer jet submerged in the cleaning solution to get an idea of how clear it is. If its nice and clear, you will see a nice flow of bubble coming out of the nozzle.

Or if you got an air compressor just use that to blow the windscreen nozzles out??

Here is the five minute version:
    1. Take it out of the car
    2. Hit it with the needle
    3. Hit it with compressed air from the hose attachment
    4. Hit it with carburetor cleaner/gumout from the hose attachment
    5. Hit it with compressed air twice as hard as before from the hose attachment
    5a. Repeat as necessary
    6. Reinstall and spray those bugs like there's no tomorrow, baby.

You are trying to remove dirt and calcium carbonate deposits. This should be explained. Others say correctly that the baking soda does nothing. Too many YT recommendations work on faulty or incomplete chemical information.

Interesting - I do admit the process looks good but there is not practical point of your mixture since the Baking soda, once mixed with the vinegar, neutralized the acid in the vinegar decomposing the acid to water and carbon dioxide (H2O & CO2). I suspect you would have gotten the same result by soaking in water alone.

J Stallings yes you are correct. The reason why I did that was because I didn’t want it to be too acidic for the plastic (car is 28 years old and wanted to play it safe) .i will probably modify the video a bit in order to explain that. Nevertheless the most important piece is cleaning the nozzles with the needles after humidifying old dried junk inside.

@ThePariss333 e30 owners want originality so either you don't have an e30 at all or you have one with copy Chinese nozzles but maybe you're happy with that.
