Keep in mind that turbo charged engines needs to be warmed up for alteast a minute before driving. This will allow fuel and lubricants to circulate adequately for improved performance. In the same manner, let your engine stay on idle for a minute before turning it off. Oil will continue to circulate and cool down the turbo to prevent oil coking. Just my 2 cents.
Totally agree with the latter. But for modern cars, you don't necessarily have to warm up the engine for 1 minute before going. You're just end wasting fuel at that point - it'll warm up quite quickly since the ICU will keep the rad valve close until it reaches its normal operating temp. What do you don't want to do though, is to stomp on the gas pedal too hard when the engine hasn't reached its ideal temperature yet. That can do some serious damage to the transmission, especially the torque converters. So it's better to take it easy and give your car some time to warm up before you really put the pedal to the metal.
