Nobody got a shower for nearly 2 weeks. Nobody did laundry. Submarines have their own aromas, a mix of sweat, oil, burned food, cigarettes, and human stink which all blend together in a disgusting mix. Throw in no showers and it gets even better! I had head crew once. And some PO1 told me to scrub the shower walls down with the push broom we use to sweep the bathroom floor with. Also I recommend crocs as shower shoes, full protection for your feet and if there is a man overboard you slip those bad boys into 4W.
Buy at least two sets of cheap Exchange shower sandals. Cut off the plastic part of one set and superglue it to the bottom of another pair. Now you have platform sandals to keep your feet out of standing water!

Wow, don't they GI the showers on a daily basis in the Navy? I was in the Army and the Latrines (heads) were scrubbed daily in the barracks. Except for weekends. If I was Master Chief of that ship, I would be embarrassed that one of my Sailors posted a video of filthy living conditions on my ship. Wow...
