I remember catering on that ship a few years ago. While the ship was stationed in San Diego, I was apart of the catering staff that served your crew and their families. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity and experience to get a glimpse of how hard y'all work together in such a confined space. Even though I'm not in the military, I have a lot more respect for what you all do for our country.

I always wanted to join the navy. My dad served on the USS Ranger during the Vietnam war, his dad was in the army during the tail end of Korea, and his dad was in the navy. I have friends in the navy and marines. I considered singing up after high school but lucky me I had a spinal cord injury that made it impossible to pass the fitness tests. I love videos like this since they show the day to day rather than the surface level posturing you see in movies, documentaries, and similar videos, I get to see what I missed 😊

During my four years in the Navy I had it rough. I was in Signal Intelligence and was stationed (shore duty) on Oahu right after completion of my A-school. Life was tough.

How I eat my spaghetti 🍝: I cook pasta, warm up some sauce, I cut some kielbasa sausage and put it in the sauce, mix them together, eat
In every branch of the military, there are certain "constants" that never change. I was in USAF 71-75 and can tell you, vending machines never worked or were always empty, and, there was always the last stall in the latrine/head that was always blocked off and marked out of order. BTW, good call on using a tissue to open the door coming out of the head, seriously.

I'm 20 but I am still finishing my high school credits, only 17 to go then I will sign up. I am excited for the opportunities this can provide me and the skills I will acquire.
